Headline: Heartless Management & Zero Compassion for Long-Time Customers…read moreI have been a loyal shopper at this Lincolnton Goodwill for over 15 years, but after my recent experience, I will never step foot in this store again. I recently lost my mother. During the week of her passing, I purchased a dress for her services and a few other items. Because I was in a rush dealing with funeral arrangements, I paid for everything and asked them to hold the remaining items for a week. I called the store multiple times to keep them updated on my situation, explaining exactly why I couldn't get there immediately. When my husband went to retrieve my paid-for items, he was met with cold indifference. A manager told him he had already put the items back out on the floor and said if I wanted them, I could "buy them again." When I went in to resolve this and ask for a refund for the items I never received, the manager was incredibly rude. He told me "specifically" that they don't hold items for anyone, regardless of the circumstances. This is a flat-out lie, as I have had items held there previously. To make matters worse, when I tried to give my return slip to another shopper to bless them since I didn't want to return to the store, he told me I wasn't allowed to do that either. If you are looking for a manager with a heart, ask for Charlotte. As for the rest of the management team: your lack of empathy for a grieving customer is appalling. You've lost a customer of 15 years over a situation that required nothing more than a little human kindness. A few tips for posting: * Post on Google Maps and Yelp: These are the two places management is most likely to see and respond to. * Contact Corporate: Since you mentioned a manager specifically blocked a refund for items you already paid for, you might want to reach out to the Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina corporate office. Would you like me to help you find the contact information for their corporate grievance department so you can file a formal complaint? (Corporate office never call back maybe because the CEO that has a salary of a MILLION that we donated to) SMH

Absolutely not worth your time, especially if you're driving any distance to visit. The store feels…read moremostly like a discount/outlet store that also sells some donated items they receive. They get clearance merchandise that never sold from places like target and Kohl's. They obviously get a lot of junk from Amazon pallets too. The store is massive but a ton of the racks are the same exact 30 pairs of jeans priced at $20 so don't expect an incredible selection just based off the square footage of the building. Beyond that, a LOT of the donated clothing they choose to put out is very heavily worn with very obvious flaws such as massive tears, bleach stains, and fast fashion that is literally falling apart and needs to be in the trash. Yet they'll still put a $10 price tag on a pair of jeans with a huge hole in the crotch. The prices are much higher than other chain thrift stores around it, and the quality is awful. Beyond the actual merchandise, the store is depressing. I used the restroom and there was no toilet paper in ANY stall in both the women's AND men's bathrooms! Not a single one. And no paper towels! How is that possible? The floors are dirty, the people who work there are not friendly, and the donation process is "park outside with your flashers on and hope someone actually comes out to assist you". Do not waste your time.

Overall not too impressed with their items. This was a mix of Ross/Michaels with a thrift shop…read more Strange to see food with used items but good for people who cannot afford much. I probably would check expiration dates. There was a ton of clothes. Unfortunately I was not looking for clothes but looking for pottery and mugs. Their prices were about average but for some of the knickknack stuff it was a hit or miss. Good selection of clothes, ok selection for blankets and not too much household stuff. The employees didn't really take notice of us which I guess isn't bad. It's a thrift shop not a salon.
