Huge space. Unfortunately, most of it is wasted on new vinyl and CDs. The used vinyl section is tiny and the last part of the alphabet is stored in cardboard boxes on the floor, despite the vast expanse of shelf space taken up by over-priced new vinyl. No respect for original LPs, at all. The used LP titles that are available are militantly run of the mill; unless you're looking to complete your Dan Fogelberg or America catalogs, there's not much here for a real collector. Also, it may be unfair to make a judgement about the entire store's staff based on one employee but the one I encountered was unhelpful and acted annoyed that I even inquired about the location of used vinyl. Stick to Amazon. They have more character at half the price. read more

Just take those old records off the shelf! I guess I am just old fashioned but I love being able to actually look at album covers, touch them, and talk to people who knows about music. I like record stores! It's sad that many good record stores being pushed out, first by big box stores and now by people who buy megabytes instead of something tangible. While that might work for some people I like the whole experience of discovering my music through the tips of my fingers. Listening to classic tunes overhead and being helped by cool people who are passionate about music. At Good Records you can still find actual records, you know those big round Frisbee looking things with holes in the middle. As well as cool t-shirts, posters, and toys. Did I mention they also have LIVE CONCERTS! Good Records supports new and local bands by showcasing them in their store. Yep, they live, breath and eat music at Good Records! People who are this passionate deserve to be in business so go give them a visit! That kind of music just soothes the soul. read more

I have mixed opinions of Good Records. I feel like I'm not a big of enough music nerd to really appreciate this store. Most of the times I come here are with one of my best friends who knows like everything about anything related to music. So he helps me appreciate this place. Last night we went upstairs to the record section and seeing him drool made me realize there's not really another place in Dallas where you can get vinyl like this. I bought Devo's new CD while I was here (it's great) and looked for BT's new CD and did not find it. I could see that Good Records isn't the best for dance music. They have a lot of local stuff, though, and that speaks a lot about that place. Probably won't stop in here on my own that often (I'm loyal to CD Source), but am happy to accompany my friend any time he wants to go and school me on some bands I've never heard of. read more

On a trip to Dallas, I unfortunately only chose one record shop to go to, and it was this one. I read alot of hype about this place given its size and also that it boasts live music. You've seen it in reviews here already, but I'll echo some of the cons. -The staff are not very friendly. I was ignored the entire time, even approached the counter but the guy working was more interested in a stack of records behind the counter. -The inventory is large, but its mostly new stuff. 2012 Dallas doesn't have the music shop selection that it should, considering the local talent and plethora of music genres that can be heard in any bar on a given night. However, when I discovered Good Records in 2007, I felt like my inner goth child was awakened and given a weapon. It's not Wax Trax, it's not Virgin Records in LA circa 1992, but it's also not bad. Good Records has a great selection of music and some hard to find bands. Another reviewer said this was his go-to music store since CD World closed, and that is my exact thought. The one difference being that Good Records has live shows. Two of the acts I've seen at this venue have been really solid up-and-coming bands as well. Those were free shows as well. Another plus is that I don't have to send one of my guy friends in to flirt with Bill to get a discount, like we did in high school at Bill's Records. It's nice being able to shop for music and not feel like a strumpet, or a strumpet pimp. read more

I like Good Records for many reasons. Lets try to organize this onto paper: 1. CJ & Chris-both are nice guys and always wanting to turn you onto new things. There have been times I've gone in there looking for something specific (I am a huge Warp Records fan), them not having it, and one of them recommending something similar or totally different. 2. If they don't have it they can usually order it within a week or so...HOWEVER calling them and asking for something obscure (Aphex Twin's remix of Beck's Devils Haircut anyone) is not the way to go. 3. The live bands. They don't settle on any particular style, they just go on what they like and what sounds good. Bottom line.....if you like/love/drool over music then this is the place to go. And remember always say "Hello" when you walk in. read more

Good Records*, Bad Business and other headlines that wrote themselves. This is coming from someone who WANTS to like every record store. If you seek the opposite of what you're about to read go to Josey Records. This is for Good Records Management more than anyone. 1.) Jacob, the red-headed employee. It's time to quit, dude. You are burned out and I've seen it from Waterloo Records in Austin to Lou's Records in Encinitas. I waited almost a year then it took about 2 minutes on my first visit to Yelp to answer the question "Is it just me?" I've never written a single Yelp review before now. If I can't buy the stuff I came in for between multiple visits without A.) Waiting for you to finish a conversation with a "buddy" B.) Shopping for 10 minutes alone (dude was in the back) or C.) Ever getting called for special orders, even when I offer to pre-pay, then something is wrong. 2.) A record store venue. That's original. If only we had more places to witness live music that are set up for an expressly different purpose. The Good Records social media accounts place the greatest emphasis on this followed by promotional retail holidays. Did you know they get "so much cool stuff for Record Store Day" simply by virtue of the fact that they have been around for 15 years? That's how this stuff works. Give Josey a year or two and they will have surpassed this joint in notoriety and exclusive access. Josey is buying record pressing machines, Good Records is too small to be a bar. 3.) Try selling them vinyl and you will fail. I went so far as to e-mail Jacob a list of records WITH Discogs links to each release and condition notes and never heard back. This should be a merchant's wet dream of people saving you the time before you flip through a crate for potentially nothing. I did part of his job for him and received no reply, not even a "Nah, man." This is the worst part: that same crate I just mentioned went to Josey for $160 cash (about 30 pieces) AFTER I changed my mind on a $100 EP AND the lot was only 30% market value; you know, because they have an actual business to run. 4.) It doesn't matter how much money I spend on records in a year. The one thing other reviewers have wrong bout this place is pricing. If vinyl isn't important enough to you then collect something that is. * I went to this place for lack of options and the selection is still spotty. They will not be in a rush to replenish stock and even when you ask good luck getting a call back. I mean it. Good. Luck. read more

This place was highly reviewed before I went but it was a total let down when we got there. EVERYTHING is insanely overpriced here. It's primarily new vinyl and an abysmally small used section. They were out of pretty much anything I had any interest in and when I went to ask the red headed guy at the counter where something was or if he could order it he gives me this snarky answer about it being impossible to find even though it had recently be repressed. A cursory google search would have told him this but he was too far up his own ass to care. This store is a joke, its about $10 more expensive than just about anywhere and it has a crappy selection of indie garbage that you could get at target. I can't wait till this place goes out of business or they at least fire ginger douche. read more

Does it compare to L.A.'s indie icons? No. But hey, this is Dallas, and after the death of CD World, I can't afford to be picky. Open late and caters to my particular music taste. The staff might not always be perky, but they have turned me on to new bands based on what I've bought in the past. Heck, I'll give them 5 stars just for introducing me to my favorite album: Of Montreal's Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer. Sure, their CDs are priced a couple bucks more than amazon.com, but I regard that as a subsidy for keeping a local business alive (not to mention a premium for satisfying my need for immediate gratification. who's got time to wait for the CD to come in the mail?). read more

I have the fine pleasure of being with a boyfriend who is insanely passionate about music, and have learned about a ton of new bands (well, new to me) over the last few years. And as a result, Good Records has become one of my favorite places in town. Not only do they have a HUGE selection of music from every genre you can think of, from popular artists to those you've never even heard of. They have a great vinyl selection - excellent place to find gifts for my aforementioned man friend - as well as a bunch of great band t-shirts and pretty decent section of box sets. My favorite part though, is all of the listening stations they have set up in-store that have led me to discover countless new bands that I probably wouldn't have stumbled across anywhere else. And the staff is really helpful and eager to tell you what they think of an album/artist and make suggestions for you based on your selection. I really don't have enough nice things to say about this place. Oh -- the in-store shows -- that's what got me writing this review in the first place!! We stopped in last night to see Elvis Perkins play a FREE mini-set before his show at House of Blues. How great is that?!? I check their site pretty regularly to stay on top of the schedule -- a lot of great acts will pop in for a free set prior to whatever show they're playing that night. Love, love, love this place. If you are even a little bit of a music lover, you have to check it out. I guarantee you'll leave with a musical gem in your hands that you probably wouldn't have found anywhere else in town. read more

I like music. I like local business. Good Records is both things together. SWEET. They've got all your music needs covered. Staff there is very knowledgeable and tres hip. Recently, I took advantage of Good Records Good Friday sale and picked up that The Apples in Stereo CD I've been wanting (and couldn't find anywhere else) so badly. What should have been $16 was $13. I was way stoked. If you're a fan of music, you will keel over in this place. Great decor, prints, t-shirts, and CDs and vinyls...oh my. This is the place where the people who don't like to listen to what everyone else is listening but it's not the requirement - just the norm. I'm not one of those people and I was still amazed by it all. This place gives Dallas a lot of character and is a landmark. Pretty rad! read more

Good Records has given me a great gift this past year. It was because of their vinyl section that I got my old turn table out, and hooked it back up to my living room sound system. From there, I started buying some new records, as well as collecting a back catalog of my favorite albums of all time. The good news is Good Records has been there to help me find them, or order stuff they didn't have on-hand. There is something magical about the vinyl loft here. It's like each step up the stairs takes you back in time. I remember going to small record shops on the Ohio State campus when I was little that were like this space. Albums on the wall, bin after bin of records to walk your fingers through - it's a tradition that's on life support, but still feels as good as your first cigarette drag. But the wonderful thing about Good Records isn't just how they've brought back that vinyl experience. They also support the music community as a whole, and share it with the younger generation. First, they have that wonderful stage in the back, and it gets used. Plenty of bands stop by Good on their pass-through of Dallas. It's always fun to stand in the isles and drink a beer while hearing the future of music live. On the days there isn't a live band playing, the stage doubles as a kids area. An aging hipster dad like myself really appreciates the legos and coloring books to keep my son happy while I dive into the big CD listening wall. Now, my son points to Good each time we drive by, and begs me to take him in. That makes my soul very happy. This place isn't perfect. They really don't know what they are doing when it comes to hip-hop and DJ culture. It gets ignored, which is a little disappointing. But what they do, they do better than any one in the DFW area. I applaud their grand thinking about what a record shop should be this century. I'll keep supporting them and urge you to do the same. read more

Good Records is my Dallas version of Empire Records, but more modernized. There are two floors of music to explore, with a special focus on the local scene. That's something you just can't find at big box stores. There are listening stations everywhere for you to sample some of their wares, and staff that really care about music, rather than the sale itself. Be sure to visit the upstairs, and check out all their records! They boast quite an impressive selection, both of older and newer releases. They, of course, participate in the yearly Record Store Day, and I had the pleasure of popping my RSD cherry at Good Records a couple of weeks ago. Their staff handled the traffic really well, and everything was smooth sailing. I love the music showcases they put on too. I got to hear an awesome set by Courtney and Brent of the Dandy Warhols there. Can't beat that! I can't think of a better place in Dallas that truly supports local acts and the material they put out. I work in a record store from time to time (it's a long story how that works out, so I won't go into it) and now that the space is being renovated, my hope of hopes is that it ends up something like the first record store I ever fell in love with, oh so many years ago; Good Records. Now, every one has touched on the negative about the store. The selection is small, yes, but running an indie store in this day and age where albums are easily downloaded isn't the easiest or most lucrative venture out there and as noted in another review, if it can be ordered, the people at GR will gladly do this for you. Yes, you have to wait a few days, but you're supporting a local business and doesn't that make you feel...well....warm and fuzzy? (If not, I suspect you have no heart. Go grab a latte at Starbucks and get some music at Sam Goody. And then cry. Cause you're evil, evil, evil!) I didn't really have a dialogue with any of the recent employees at the store, as I was in a bit of a rush to meet a friend at a bar on my first visit of the new location, but my memory of the past employees at GR has always been pleasant. I learned a lot about music from some of those guy's suggestions. (Sidenote: Wow, I also remember walking in to the G. Latimer location on 9/11. I hadn't listened to the radio or turned on the TV all morning and the first news I heard of that tragedy was when I heard the NPR report being broadcast over their speaker system. I think I even accussed a clerk named Erik of playing some weird book on tape, to which he responded, "Where have you been all morning, Leilani?" That memory has pretty much been impressed into my being.) Anyway, my own nostalgia aside, there are good and bad things about this store, but I think the good will always outweigh those little nitpicky bad things. Nothing can be perfect, but through these cynical eyes, even I can respect that Good Records strives to be at least slightly awesome and I'm always happy to come home and see the record store is still around and thriving. read more

What the... I haven't reviewed this place yet? Clearly I'm so focused on my new purchases that I forget about things like the internet and social media. I've had better service elsewhere but we all know record stores are generally staffed by pretentious music nerds who think their shit don't stink. But for the most part the guys I've run into here are cool and willing to help, they just suffer from short attention spans. This is my go-to location for vinyl and where you'll probably find me on one of my favorite holidays, Record Store Day! They do a nice job of supporting local acts and they keep the store organized. They stock a lot of new and used and have a decent selection of concert poster/flyers. (I scored a GIANT Weezer poster on foam board that I had to strategically get into a mid-size car once). I must have been late to jump on this train. Apparently Good Records had all the underground music fans they were interested in having before I showed up. I walked in the first week I moved to Dallas, trying to find some good music, and some good shows around town. There was only one other person in the store. I said what's up to the guy working there, who didn't seem interested enough to respond. I couldn't find anything I wanted (or anything I didn't already have). And even the used CDs were more than I was going to pay for a CD. There were some cool shirts, also uber expensive (I'm poor). I pretended to be interested for a while, and finally resigned myself to disappointment, which is unfortunate because it was a bitch to park. On the way out I asked if they had any Mindless, and the kid looked at me like I called him a Carson Daly wannabe and of course said, "no!". read more

How lucky am I to live so close to the wonderful establishment that is Good Records? It's the last of its kind. Makes me reminisce on days when I worked at a music store... ahhhh.... *dreamy* Great CD selection. Upstairs, my favorite, is the vinyl collection. Yay vinyl! 5 stars, hands-down. Prices are reasonable, unless you can get to an artist's show, which is the only place I've found cheaper vinyls. Staff is awesome, super helpful. They know their stuff. I remember asking what a band sounded like, only to have them put it on immediately for me to hear. Even better are the awesome in-store performances they put on. Ah, the record store... the last bastion of Old School. Dallas used to be populated with great places like Sound Warehouse, the Melody Shop, and CD World. Alas, all of those have fallen by the wayside in the age of iTunes and (ahem) "free" music on the interwebz. Even though I'm iPod-dependent in my car, I still prefer CDs at home. And I still prefer the satisfaction of browsing randomly through a great record store and coming out with a stack of new music. So I still hit the record store first and use the internet as a last resort. Nine times out of 10 I can find what I came for, but I never leave empty-handed. I might end up with whatever CD they're playing in the store. Or I might stumble across a random CD with a wild band name/cover and decide to check it out (King Kahn and The Shrines, anyone?). I'll argue that there's nothing better than listening to a brand new CD in its entirety on the stereo, leafing through the liner notes, and discovering little nuggets you might otherwise miss... Good Records is great place to spend an hour on a lazy Sunday. read more

I really like a lot about this store. It is well kept up with, well organized, and the staff is friendly. Also, I really like the layout and where it is located. It may be the closest place to me that has a large selection of records/cds. Truly, going into Good Records feels like a blast from the past, it is sad that there are not more stores like it anymore. With that said I have to give it just an "Ok" rating because of their selection and prices. As far as new records go you can get better deals on Amazon or at Movie Trading Co. Now this normally isn't a huge deal to me, I'm willing to pay a little bit more to go somewhere close and have the fun opprotunity to dig through a bunch of records and grab one that stands out to me. But that brings up the other big negative point which is their record selection. I am really into 80s rock/heavy metal and after scouring the store I was hard pressed to find a decent selection of Queensrhyche/Iron Maiden/Judas Priest/Queen/etc.. What they mainly have is either new albums or classic Pink Floyd/Jethro Tull/Rolling Stones. Nothing wrong with that selection, I like these bands too but on the occasion I went I was quite disappointed to leave without a purchase of a classic 80s heavy metal/rock n roll record. I really wanted to buy something, it is a beautiful store. I would suggest to go there if you are looking for newer music, or a classic band before the 80s that is still quite well known nowadays. read more

Ok, pros: The store is really clean and organized, so it's really easy to find exactly what you're looking for - and by that I mean that it's easy to find where what you're looking for SHOULD be. Cons: The vinyl selection leaves something to be desired. The Used records section is comprised of about 30 records. The rest of the store is all new records, so don't expect to spend less than $20 on anything. Also, I went in hoping to build up my collection of what I consider classics, i.e. Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, Simon & Garfunkel, Billy Joel, James Taylor, etc. The ONLY record of those 5 that they had was Simon & Garfunkel, and obviously, it was new and selling for over $20. I really wanted to like this store because it's really clean and organized, but overall I was just completely disappointed. read more

Awesome! That's the first word that came to mind when I entered Good Records on lower Greenville. I am a music lover and places like these are quickly fading away. With the days of MP3 downloads and online shopping, record stores are being swept under the rug and no longer used. I am a huge underground hip hop music fan, and I have no problem finding any DOOM, or J Dilla CD that I'm looking for. When I asked when the new Madlib CD is coming out, he knew right off the top of his head the exact date. I'm so used to people looking at me, confused, asking me how do you spell it, or I have no idea who you are talking about. The vinyl collection there is awesome as well. I used to DJ a loooong time ago, but since then have given my tables and vinyl away. Whoever needs vinyl, good music, or live music (there is a stage right in the back of the store), this is the spot! read more

Good Records is a great record shop. It is one of the view places in Dallas that you can find a large selections of vinyls. And the musical selection is very eclectic; Country, Classical, Rock, Grunge, New Age, Jazz, etc., etc., etc. (the list goes on and on). The prices for the most part aren't to bad but a couple of the CD's I looked at I thought were a bit extreme. Vinyl is definitely the more affordable option at this spot. They also have CD's, DVD's, and Blu-Ray's for you to browse, though this selection is nowhere near as extensive as the music selection obviously. With the resurgence of vinyl over the last several years, thank you hipster and serious music fans, I hope that they continue to do well and can find a strong enough foothold to stay open. read more

Knocked it down 1 star because of the new location and therefor serious lack of parking (and not nearly as convenient to those of us who live in Deep Ellum/Expo Park). But aside from that, it's *perfect.* CJ always knows what new artists or albums I will love. The in-stores are unbeatable. I have seen SO MANY bands play here. Good Records will let you listen to ANY cd before you purchase it. Their prices are crazy low. Much lower than Amoeba in LA. They can order you just about any CD also and don't charge you extra shipping (but you might have to call and check in to see when it has arrived because they have never ever once called me to tell me when an order was in). Simply put: I love this store. Any time I'm looking for something new and different, all I have to do is walk in the door. Generally whatever is playing over the stereo is what I walk out with (along with a few other favorites I didn't know I needed). Lots of stuff that you can't find in other stores around town can be found here, and considering how difficult some of these records are to find (aside from paying postage and purchasing online), the prices are very reasonable. Also, the staff is unbelievably knowledgable and will do whatever they can to make sure you get the music you want. They've held copies of cds for me when they know they're getting more in stock, they'll even give me a call when something comes in - it's almost like having a personal assistant for my music collection. This store is a fantastic example of how a music store SHOULD be run. They are passionate about the music they sell and support! read more

They have a wide selection of music, much of which I wasn't even aware of, despite being an admitted indie hipster. Upstairs is a vinyl collector's paradise. They had everything I was looking for, even exceedingly obscure records. Prices are a bit high, but I'm willing to pay it over getting jammed on shipping charges by ordering online. Hello Flashback, its 1995 and Warner Brothers just released the movie Empire Records... At least that's what came to mind when I entered the doors of this independent music depot. Good records, Good cd's, Good staff, Good community driven business, not so much Good music venue... But the later is deducted by my imagination, not from personal experience. In a world where Amazon.com reigns supreme price king on most anything musical, Good Records prices aren't that far behind. At least nothing to feel guilty about while getting your "I need this album right now" fix. You Can't Roll a Joint on a Digital Download - is what one of the store t-shirt says. At first glance, this place reminded me of John Cusak's place in Hi Fidelity. But as noted by others, the employees here are not pretentious and disdainful. I haven't been in a music store in several years, and I have to say it was exciting. I love looking at all the cover art- what imagery a band uses to define their work. Along the counter, they have a huge selection of used cds. I picked up a Moldy Peaches cd, just to see, and it was 9 bucks. I debated on it- but put it back. Also up front, they had popular new-ish releases, like Ra Ra Riot. I stopped in here after an event in their parking lot, and they were offering us mimosas ("have another, we've got lots of champagne") and mini muffins from Corner Bakery. The mimosas had a good pour to them, and it was nice to be encouraged to have more than one, not always the case with free stuff. In addition, Good Records plays movies on Mondays. Movies with a music theme. You can see the screen, on the wall with the front door. Not sure exactly how the seating works- I suspect on the stage, and maybe they have chairs to put between the aisles? Also, free popcorn provided. It's nice to see a local place do it right, but how long can they compete in the digital era. Hopefully for a long time. read more

This place rules for new music. They have everything you want on release date and plenty of back catalog. If you are looking for thrift store bin and flea market finds go there. This place has the perfect selection of vinyl for people who listen to current music. I asked about a new album they were advertising on the wall and the clerk queued it up for me right on the spot. The selection may be small, but this place is certinaly quality over quantity, and it doesn't pretend to serve more than a specialized, niche market. In particular, I think it's rad that they manage to bring such badass bands in to do in-store shows. I saw Cursive and Low here in 2001! Especially considering how tiny it is, that's one fine record store. You can also find some limited edition vinyl here on occassion. And you know, I've been to Amoeba music in the Haight in San Fran, and I STILL love this place. It doesn't pretend to be Amoeba and it doesn't NEED to be. read more

This is the best music store in Dallas. They are incredibly knowledgeable. CJ knows some stuff and I apsire to know that much. I have found it is the best place to find interesting and off the wall artists. The in-store concerts are incredible. While the selection is not huge the quality is better. Good Records is great if you are like me and listen to more indie than mainstream music. Plus they have a ton of current vinyl records! Great for doing pre-orders with, and sometimes they even get it in early. :] I think their used CDs are a little high, but I try to buy new when I can anyhow. Very nice and helpful staff. They are open late too which is nice. Only warning I have is don't go to the store when they are having an event cause not only will it be a pain to find a place to park, but it will be loud as hell in the store and a crowd of people might be standing in front of the shelf you are trying to get to and have no intention of moving. read more

I wasn't quite disappointed and I wasn't quite impressed with my first visit to Good Records. I suppose it's because I'm comparing them in my own mind to such huge and long-standing examples of indie music stores, i.e. Amoeba in California, Waterloo in Austin. It's really sad to me that this is the best example of an indie record store in Dallas, one of the largest cities in the country. It's not the store's fault; it's more indicative of the city, its residents, and their attitude. The selection is small and in most cases just a more-expensive offering of what can be found at Best Buy. Very skinny on the EPs, imports, and rarities. On the plus side, they have a slew of in-store performances. On the downside, parking is kind of a pain. When I was there I saw this kid browsing the place, probably no more than 12 or 13. And that's cool, because Good Records is kinda like a local music store with training wheels. It's a good introduction. And, really, it's just good that it exists. read more

I'm not sure why, besides those liner notes, why vinyl is back. But it is, and they sell it at Good. It was really entertaining going through the racks of records...Oh, I think I had that Barry Manilow album. Or maybe my mom did? In any case, fun to take a walk down memory lane. If you're a vinyl lover, you must stop in. Prices for used records seem to be in the $8-$12 range, and there's a pretty eclectic selection, as you might imagine. But if you're jonesing for that Ratt LP that you let go 'way back when, you might just find it here. And you'll have fun looking! About parking: Not sure if you can park in the lot in front of the store or not. There was a scary-looking sign about how the nightclub next door has spotters on duty 24-7 and will tow your car if you park there. You might be able to park in front of the building where Good is, but check first just to be sure. read more

I'm not a fan of buying stuff online, for many reasons. It also doesn't help that I'm impatient and hate waiting 2 to 4 weeks for stuff to arrive when I could probably just go to the store, hand over the cash and hold in my hands whatever item it is I want. I haven't been in a record/CD store since they closed down FYE at the Galleria mall, and yeah, it's been THAT long. I kept hearing about Good Records and decided to visit one lazy Sunday afternoon. I immediately tried to think of all those hard-to-find-at-Target-and-refuse-to-buy-off-Amazon CDs I've been meaning to buy... finally I remembered that I needed Girl in a Coma's debut CD 'Both Before I'm Gone' to complete my collection. Sure enough, there it was, sitting on the shelf waiting for me to grab it. Ecstatic? Yes. They had a really cool vinyl section upstairs, that made me promise to myself that I would buy a record player soon and buy me some cool vinyls. Good Records has all the good music, and if you want something that's hard to find, they'll have it or get it to you ASAP. That is just good service right there. And an awesome store. read more

I try to go to record stores everywhere I travel and usually I get the music snob that looks down to your music tastes or your guilty pleasures. This is not the place. The people that work there have a genuine love of music, they're tagline is an experience in listening and they'll try to make it a good experience. They have free concerts, and famous bands instore performances. The staff is always nice, you get to know them they talk to you they even share some of the more obscure bands with you, even obscure for the music loving hipster you likely are. They're open super late. If you're looking for hard to find stuff this is the place to go in Dallas, no snobbery. Get the t-shirt that says "you can't roll a joint on a digital download". Although I haven't been as much since C.J. left, that dude really loved loved loved music and really loved to show you new and cool bands, just a really nice and authentic dude. read more
