They don't seem to have understood the fact that, whether this was a rental car or not, this was NOT MY CAR, therefore, NOT MY TICKET. They said it was because I couldn't produce a rental agreement with the matching license plate to prove that it wasn't my car. How can I do that if I have no clue whose car that is, how it got connected to my phone number, and where the car now exists??? I don't even know if it was actually a rental car. They couldn't provide any proof that the car was connected to me besides my phone number somehow getting connected to it without my permission. Dumb. I ended up having to dispute it with my bank, instead, since they were so obstinate and also seemingly did not understand what I was talking about.

The restaurant doesn't have parking, though there's some street parking on Main St. & the adjacent streets. It was a rainy day & I didn't want to park too far away. Luckily, First Street Parking Structure sits just behind the restaurant, off 1st & Main Sts., though we entered from Garfield Ave. The free parking structure offers 4 hours of parking from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, & it's not gated or guarded so not sure what happens if you extend the time limit or park before/after business hours. There's other signage that says parking is for business patrons only, all others will be towed & to call (626) 570-5168 for towed cars. I didn't bother waiting for spaces to open up, & went straight to the roof for parking since it was during lunch rush. It was about 1/2 full on that last stretch. I think there's 4 levels of parking? The sky was dark & gloomy, yet the structure wasn't well-lit; other reviewers cautioned safety concerns due to theft, lack of lighting, & loitering. I'm glad my car was still in one piece when I was done with lunch. Whew! There's a pocket garden just north of the structure, but I'm not sure if it's a part of First Street Parking Structure. It has a couple of benches, a couple of citrus trees (possibly lemon or orange?), & a short walkway. The structure is in a prime location surrounded by a dozen plus restaurants & other businesses, so it's convenient but concerning since it's not that visible with foot traffic & may pose safety issues. I might try for the surrounding area for the 2-hr. street parking when the weather's better.

I read this garage was only $20 for the day and went for this one and was so glad we did. We felt completely safe, the staff was very friendly and helpful, they do not take your keys and double park cars, and it was only a very short walk to the where we got on the bus and the Hollywood walk of fame and a lot of shops. I read someone gave them one star for not having a bathroom....WTH? Its a garage lady, not a hotel...lol But, yeah...park here if your looking for a place, and use the restroom before you leave your hotel. (haha)

The Perishing Square lot has sketchiness as well, but there are several reasons that I choose to park here if I'm going to Downtown LA in areas south of Skid Row. (In areas north of skid row, I'd park in Little Tokyo). First, if you park here on the weekends or after 5pm on weekdays, they have a flat rate for $9. During work hours on weekdays, the rate would be around $20 if you stay longer than 2 hours ($3 per 15 min with $20 max). Second, though the area is sketchy, there is security and this is a covered lot. Even the presence of security is a step up from most of the lots in the area. It may be only as good as a car alarm; however, I'll take it. Lastly, I feel that it's pretty conveniently located to key attractions in DTLA like Grand Central Market, Jewelry District, and some of the hotels in the area. In terms of safety and convenience, DTLA is one of the worst places to park in Los Angeles; however, I think this lot is one of the best of the worst. Note: entrances to this lot can be found on 5th and 6th streets between Hill and Olive. Note: If you are intending to go to Little Tokyo, Arts District, or north of skid row, look up the Aiso parking lot.

There was a "security" woman sleeping in the office nearby You take elevators up to Pershing Square, so no problems there After returning you go to machines on P1, insert the ticket and payment card to receive another card, which you are supposed to use at the exit gates. You are reminded by many signs that there are no cashiers at the gates. Well, there was a man at the gate I approached. He kept pointing (at what?) and I was eventually told to go to another gate (no reason why), which was staffed by another non-cashier.
