I seen a lot of people go through Good Sam's detox program, and now they've turned their whole life around for the better!

I visited the ER for a lupus tlare-up and left feeling disappointed with the care I received…read more The biggest issue was communication. Throughout my stay, I felt that staff were not keeping me informed about what was happening, what the treatment plan was, or what the next steps would be. It seemed like there was limited communication among staft members, and I often had to ask questions to get basic information about my care. I also felt that some staff members lacked empathy and confidence when discussing my condition. Because lupus can be a complex illness, I expected more understanding of my symptoms and concerns. Instead, I felt dismissed and uncertain about whether my condition was being fully evaluated. After spending approximately nine hours in the ER, I was discharged with the same pain and issues that brought me in. I left without feeling that my concerns had been adequately addressed or that I had a clear plan for managing my flare-up. I hope this feedback encourages improvements in communication, patient education, and compassion for patients dealing with chronic autoimmune conditions.

I was impatient for four days for a rare syndrome flare brought on by first Influenza A, Covid 19…read more(45 day hospitalization), then Covid again. My immune system took a huge hit and now I struggle with MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome). Went into anaphylaxis. Most doctors blanket any symptoms they can't understand under "you're suffering from anxiety". Granted, when your throat is closing, the average human panics!!! Memorial 4 West with Dr. Divsheen Sethi and the Resident doctor assisting her treated me with such dignity, compassion and respect and were so thorough and knowledgeable. The nursing staff, CNAs, Respiratory Therapy, Lab, Housekeeping, Chaplain, literally everyone is amazing here! My first time being admitted at Memorial and I would bring any member of my family here. MCAS is not well known of or understood, yet not once was I dismissed or not heard when I had complaints of my symptoms. I had all the tests ordered to make sure I was safe to go home. When my airway started closing again, the nurse stayed with me until Respiratory Therapy could rush in with Epinephrine. I am very sensitive to medication, Dr. Sethi listened to my concerns and tailored dosages to minimize side effects. Though my condition is rare, they took time to research more on it, and made sure I had specialist referrals for follow up, also setting me up for home supplies for breathing treatments. You'd expect this from every hospital, believe me, not all are the same. I'm truly blessed to have had this team care for me. I'm leaving here feeling safe and cared for. God bless this team of healthcare professionals, they work so hard. Thank you

The medical team caring for my dad after his double bypass and valve replacement was phenomenal…read more Truly 5-star clinical care. Unfortunately, we had a serious security issue in the ICU. A visitor repeatedly looked into/lingered around my dad's room, and when my mom politely asked her to stop, she became confrontational and followed my mom (who uses a cane) off the elevator and down a corridor. We felt unsafe. We felt worried for my dad, who was in an extremely vulnerable state. We reported it immediately to the head of security and later submitted a formal complaint asking what would be done to prevent further contact. We felt as if my dad needed constant family supervision. The response was generic and dismissive, and came via snail mail only after he was discharged a week later. We felt like the head of security, Giovanni Rodriguez, didn't take this HIPAA violation and security scare seriously. I'm sure I'll get a vague or generic response from them again in yelp, if at all. You can't silence me.

I came in for a cast reevaluation and was seen by Dr. Justin Meyer, DO (Attending Physician) and Dr. Marcus Wong, MD (ED Provider). My care was delayed for hours because the clinic did not have the proper machine/equipment needed to treat me, leaving me in ongoing pain. When I said I wanted to leave due to the prolonged delay, I was pressured to sign an AMA (Against Medical Advice) form. I calmly stated that I would not sign it, as I was not leaving against medical advice -- I was leaving because care could not be provided. At that point, one of the nurses snatched the pen out of my hand. This behavior was disrespectful, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. Patients should never be treated this way, especially when they are in pain and advocating for themselves. The nursing care throughout the visit felt disorganized, and I also observed another patient being made to leave during this time. I will be updating this review once I obtain the nurse's name. I hope management reviews this incident seriously. Patients deserve timely care, clear communication, and basic respect.

I'll admit that we initially had some concerns based on what we had heard and read beforehand. However, our experience ultimately exceeded every expectation. The labor and delivery turned into a very intense and emotional situation. Our baby had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck and went into distress, requiring an emergency C-section. It was a frightening moment, but the medical team acted quickly, decisively, and with incredible skill. Looking back, we truly believe their actions made all the difference and may have saved our baby's life. After delivery, our baby spent three weeks in the NICU recovering from respiratory issues, a staph infection, and learning how to feed. During that time, the NICU doctors and nurses were nothing short of extraordinary. They were compassionate, attentive, and endlessly patient--not only caring for our baby but also guiding us as new parents. They took the time to teach us techniques and build our confidence, which made the transition home so much smoother. What stood out most was how genuinely supported we felt. The team treated us with kindness and respect, and by the end of our stay, we truly felt like we had formed meaningful connections with them. We always felt that our baby was in capable, caring hands. Today, our baby is thriving, and we are deeply grateful. We have complete confidence in the care we received at Kern Medical's Labor & Delivery and NICU, and we will always appreciate the role they played in giving our child such a strong start.

I told the doctor I had a kidney stone and in addition to that my foot was also swollen to the point where I couldn't even walk on it. The doctor takes a look at my foot and says Yep it's swollen. And the conversation ended there regarding my foot. Anyone that's had a kidney stone knows that it is very painful in addition to the pain from barely being able to put weight on my foot. You would think that the doctor would offer some kind of pain relief. Instead, he let me sit there for six hours, suffering and pain when he easily could've given me something to help ease the Pain. To top it off while I was there, I hear him talking to the lady across from me that fell and hurt her harm, and he begins to listing off numerous pain medications. He can give her to help her ease the pain. I was just in disbelief But the worst thing about this encounter is I was discharged and I'm still at home. I can't walk and I have no idea what's wrong with my foot. The doctor didn't email address it. Absolutely unacceptable. Avoid this doctor at all costs.

As a parent, I repeatedly called, left messages, and requested updates from staff and the treatment team. Unfortunately, many of my calls were not returned, and the information I did receive was often inconsistent or inaccurate. The lack of communication has caused significant stress and concern during an already difficult time for our family. I understand that mental health facilities have policies and procedures they must follow, but families deserve timely communication, transparency, and compassion. I do not feel that my concerns were adequately addressed, nor do I feel confident that my son received the level of care and support that was communicated to us. I hope this review encourages the facility to improve communication with families and ensure that patients and their loved ones receive the attention, respect, and support they deserve.
