We informed Funeral Director Alicia Jacklin multiple times about incorrect information on both the obituary and the death certificate. Despite these notifications, the death certificate was still submitted with errors and missing information. We were also told that we would be contacted when the death certificate arrived, but no one ever reached out. After waiting several days, we called and were met with the dismissive response, "We already gave it to you," when in fact what we had received was only the cremation permit. Throughout the process, whenever we called with questions or concerns, we were repeatedly told, "I'll get back to you; we're busy helping other families." We understand that every family deserves attention and care, but that should not be used as a reason to neglect existing clients or fail to follow through on commitments. Losing a loved one is one of the hardest experiences a family can endure. The lack of attention to detail, poor communication, and apparent indifference we encountered only added to our stress and grief. This was once a place where families felt cared for and treated like family themselves. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We felt as though the focus was always on the next person walking through the door rather than on providing the support and service we were promised. Based on our experience, we would not use or recommend this funeral home in the future.

From the moment we sat down with Dan to make the arrangements, we immediately felt comfortable and supported. Dan guided us through everything with compassion and expertise. He was incredibly knowledgeable about my father's military benefits -- something we hadn't even thought about -- and he even went with us to the cemetery to help with those arrangements. Dan also coordinated the church services and luncheon, taking so much off our shoulders during an overwhelming time. The wake and funeral services were truly beautiful. The facility is clean, modern, and very well-kept. The staff was wonderful, and the slideshow they created was absolutely beautiful. Even a week later, when I returned to pick up the death certificates, the kindness and care from the staff remained just as genuine. This funeral home is an absolute disgrace. The owner is culturally incompetent, hostile, and…read morebelligerent, particularly toward families of color. At no point was there compassion, professionalism, or basic human decency. Even during the ceremony, multiple guests felt and witnessed the owner's cold, dismissive behavior, which was deeply inappropriate and hurtful. They withhold critical information, refuse to explain how their facility operates, and behave as though grieving families are not entitled to transparency or respect. When families ask reasonable questions or advocate for themselves, they are intimidated, threatened, and spoken to aggressively. This is not care--it is control. Our loved one's body was mishandled, and we were denied the right to see him, as if this funeral home believed they had ownership over his body rather than understanding the sacred responsibility entrusted to them. This decision alone caused irreparable emotional harm to our family. The facility felt unsanitary, disorganized, and unsafe, raising serious concerns about hygiene, health standards, and basic compliance. Nothing about this environment felt dignified or respectful. What was clear is that this establishment is predatory--they will squeeze every possible dollar out of grieving families, exploiting pain for profit. This funeral home creates trauma instead of providing care. They add suffering to families already experiencing unimaginable loss. Their behavior is unethical, harmful, and completely unacceptable. During the ceremony, instead of checking in with all family members, they only acknowledged those who "hired" them--directly contradicting what they advertise on their own website. I strongly warn everyone--especially families of color--to stay far away from this establishment. They should be reported immediately to the health department, state licensing boards, and consumer protection agencies for their conduct, conditions, and treatment of grieving families. No one deserves to be verbally abused, silenced, or retraumatized while trying to lay their loved one to rest. This establishment needs to learn how to treat and speak to all family members with dignity and respect. They are also deleting post from their google review to hide their despicable treatment.
