We took our puppy to Good Shepherd Pet Hospital. The staff was very kind beginning when scheduling the appointment over the phone. The doctor was very nice too, he gave suggestions about how to train and feed the puppy. The charges $55 for a check up and gave us the medicine $35, I thought it was a little pricey for an antibiotic. read more

They took incredible care of our dog after a scary respiratory issue. We are new to the area and did not yet have a vet and we are SO glad we chose Good Shepherd. Our dog has quite a bit of anxiety in new places but she responded so well to them and they treated her like their own. I brought my two pets in here for a check up and they ended up getting bloodwork, shots and a dewormer. The doctor was extremely rough with the needles while drawing blood from my little seven pound Maltese and my 40 pound cattle dog was terrified after being roughly poked with the needle and she was running around bleeding. I was charged and arm and a leg although they made it seems like the cost wasn't going to be that high. The following morning I woke up to my Maltese not being able to walk and she wouldn't eat or drink and was shaking all over her body and acting very very sick. I brought her back in and they told me she needed to get an X-Ray of her back (WHAT?!) when she was clearly having a reaction to whatever they had done with her the day before. Then they told me I needed to pay them more money because I was coming in for an emergency visit and not a regular check up. I refused so they made me sign a treatment refusal paper work because my dog is clearly feeling very sick from whatever they did to her. Please do yourself a favor and find a vet that cares about your pet (plenty of them are still around) and not about a paycheck. read more

Yesterday morning my elderly dog was unable to stand. My regular vet (Banfield), who I've been paying a monthly fee to for over 12 years was unable to see me in both of the locations I called. My coworker recommended Good Shepherd so I gave them a call and they squeezed me in the same day. The doctor was very gentle with my dog and got to the root of the issue without excessive tests and charges. I'm planning on switching both of my dogs over to this vet now. read more

They have taken phenomenal care of my dog. Poor guy had a breathing issue and they narrowed it down to his allergies. With some antibiotics and medicated shampoo he has gotten to look not just good but better than I think he ever has before. Other place I went before tried telling me he has kidney failure and heart issues, so needless to say I'm really glad I came here for a second opinion and some professional advice. All the staff are very friendly, and they are very gentle and sweet with their animals. Probably will be the only place I take him from now on. read more

We just moved to the area, so I wanted to support a new local business. We arrived just before our appointment time and it seemed we were the only patient there, as there we no other patients in the lobby and no other cars in the parking lot. We were placed in a patient room and then had to wait about 25 minutes for the doctor to come into the room to start the appointment. My dog is blind, and becomes very nervous when she is in an unfamiliar place. Dr. Deeb finally completed the exam, talked to me like I was the was the worst dog parent in the world and like I didn't care about my dog's welfare. So $300 later, we left with eye drops. At the "follow-up" appointment the next week, we spent another $150 on "testing", with no new diagnosis. So when they called to book me for a third follow up appointment, I said "no thank you", and took my dog to the dog eye specialist vet in Tampa, who also prescribed eye drops. Dr. Deeb was very apathetic, made us wait an inordinate amount of time during both visits, even though we were the only patient in the office (there was no barking or people), and was very pushy in regards to additional "testing". Not a great first experience, and we went to Starkey Ranch Animal Hospital and have very much appreciated Dr. Sheridan's approach and beside manner. read more

My dog had something lodged in her teeth that required intervention. The team got me an appointment within 2 hours. Everyone was very kind and patient with her. She was seen, taken back to her procedure, and back in the room with me within 40min of arriving. I really appreciated how quickly this was handled and how polite the staff were. Dr Deeb is the best Vet I've ever seen. When other vets say there is no hope for my dog, he always Says I can do it, and he does beautiful job. Couple times my dog was close to death he brought her back to perfect. You will never have to worry about your pet in his hands because his office cares about your pet like their own. I would travel 1000 miles to have my dog seen at this clinic. Bless them they are worth every penny. read more

We had a bad experience plain and simple. They may have felt justified in arguing with me here but the fact remains my dog came home traumatized and had a complete personality shift that took over a week to return to normal and when she was brought to the car her nails were bleeding from her nail trim. Yes, she had 2 infections we weren't aware of until she was seen and yes she was treated. However I do feel they took advantage of the fact that they had my dog in their custody while we were out of state. We choose them so we could do her annual and Kennel at the same time, Treasured pets closed which is the only place we trusted for 11years. I've worked for vets who boarded and I thought the level of care would be the same it wasn't. They can keep responding to make me loom bad if they want but the facts remain we paid almost $1k and got a traumatized bleeding dog back and I have the right to feel this way. read more
