(Believe it or not, the sign with her name on it is Still In the Parking Lot!) However, that is Not the case anymore. I made an appointment for my cat Triscuit for 10am. When I arrived, the staff said they were running 30 min behind due to an out-of-control cat (whatever that means). I waited awhile when a technician put my pet and myself into an examining room. She told me they are Always short staff on Thursdays and only have a substitute Veterinarian on Thursdays. She also said the cat holding things up was probably very sick (Two different stories). Anyway, I sat in that room until 11:15 and still No Vet. In the meantime, i did hear the Vet in the next room, chatting for a VERY LONG TIME to another customer. She didn't appear to have any sense of urgency and obviously could care less. Finally, I came to the realization that if this place can't keep a schedule, employees seemed to be covering up for the problems, I probably would Not get good care for Triscuit. We left after waiting 11/2 hours; a wait I have never experienced any where. After many years coming here, I now have a new Veterinarian Clinic.

-1000/10 I've been going here for 15+ years with all my animals but since they changed ownership…read moreit's gone to hell don't go here even in an emergency they'll up-charge the hell out of you and and give you bullshit diagnoses. I brought my 13 yr dog in months ago bc she wasn't acting right, I explained that I thought she was having seizures (spinning in circles and having trouble standing) and that she was hiding in weird places (laundry baskets and closets) and for reference on the size she's a husky mix) and they told me it was just her hips bc she's old and sent me off with anti inflammatories. Well I brought her in again and tried asking more questions like if she could have a brain tumor or if we could do something more for her, they dismissed my concerns and told me that was not what it was and they just raised the dose and told us to bring her in again if she had any problems. Well she's dead, I had to watch as she violently seized and gasped for breath and died in my arms. This could have been avoided if they had taken me seriously then if they told me she needed to be euthanized she wouldn't have had to go through that I am so beyond pissed off I will NEVER go back. On another note I brought my cat in a month ago as well and waited 2 HOURS for her to get her routine vaccines then they tried to tell me she needed $600 worth of testing bc they thought they heard a heart murmur, safe to say I'm going to go somewhere else for more testing.

I was told twhen I called that the owner isn't even the primary veterinarian there, as it stated on their website. The only vet they have there now is Dr Quinones-Viera and she's one I had it out with. She's incredibly rude and difficult to understand. Dr. Remillard, my advice to you would be to fix this problem or else you're gonna start losing more patients and recommendations.

There seems to be an ongoing lack of communication with your team. I would like to provide feedback…read moreand clear some things up. She does not have an issue, as you stated in your message to me, and she was seen to discuss a dental cleaning and X-rays this year during an exam, so I'm not sure why you are saying she has an issue that hasn't been discussed since 2024. This is not accurate. I called on Tuesday, 7/21/26, and asked if I could speak with someone about getting Maggie a dental cleaning and some x-rays done for a previous injury she sustained as a kitten before I adopted her. I was told that the best person to speak with would be Hailey the surgical coordinator and that she would call me later in the week and that she would be happy to answer all of my questions. I had questions about who would be performing the dental cleaning, what their experience is, how you monitor a patient while they're under, etc. I even offered to come in myself and speak with someone, but I was assured that Hailey would call and answer my questions. I was happy about this and felt comfortable with it. Instead, I received a text message at 4:30pm yesterday, 7/24/26, telling me that a vet would like to examine Maggie and go over options. This was very bizarre to me because Hailey never called and instead I received a text from someone (they didn't identify themselves) telling me to call for an appointment I do not need. She has already been seen this year for an exam. During that exam, I specifically spoke with the vet about having a dental done for her. I was told by this vet that when I was ready to do the dental cleaning that they would send an estimate via email. Additionally, I have no idea what vet you guys were referring to when I was told she needs to be seen since every time I come she sees a different vet. It seems like the vets change frequently, which is concerning to me. I've never seen such a thing at a vet clinic. My cat and I are not able to establish a relationship or trust with a specific vet because the vet always changes. The support staff seems to change frequently as well. Without a consistent and established team I'm not surprised that these communication issues keep happening. This isn't the first, second, or third time I've experienced something like this at your location. The x-rays that Pasco County Animal Services took when she was a kitten have already been sent to you guys by me when I brought her to your clinic for care years ago. You've also received all of the documentation explaining the injuries and their findings. The only follow up care that I was told was to get x-rays done when she was fully grown around the age of 3 or 4 to see how her body healed, which is what I'm trying to do. Furthermore, I have told you guys consistently, since it does not seem to be in her file and the vets/staff keep changing, that she has trauma from her experience at the county shelter and from another local shelter before I fostered and adopted her. Veterinary clinics are extremely stressful for her, it reminds her of the shelter, and I am unable to safely give her any form of medication before I take her to a vet appointment. An exam is not needed and it will only stress her out unnecessarily. Thanks to the shelter environments she was in and her time on the street, when she becomes highly stressed her eyes flare up and require drops which is additionally stressful for her. You guys are aware of this because you've had to treat her for this before. I've personally experienced staff throwing away Maggie's stool sample that was supposed to be tested (it was labeled with her name/my name/phone number/date), not honoring a previous payment that included a stool sample, and wild miscommunication from vets and staff about pricing (which has substantially increased) and appropriate care. I am very uncomfortable moving forward and I do not trust that she will be safe. I will be going to a new veterinarian. I already emailed VCAContactUs@vca.com to leave feedback so that everyone is on the same page.

We were told pickup was between 3-4 PM, I arrived at 2:45 excited to bring our girl home. As Ruca walked into the discharge room, she collapsed. She was awake but completely unresponsive. Her gums were pale and her body temperature was low. Around 3:14 my I sent a text to my wife, "Ruca doesn't even know I'm here when I put my hand in front of her." I knew something was wrong. I sat there for almost 3 hours with almost no updates. About an hour later, I was told they were doing x-rays to check for internal bleeding. Those x-rays were not taken until after 5 PM -- after she had already passed. When my wife arrived around 4:40, we couldn't find anyone in the surgery center. We searched for someone to tell us what was happening. Later, a young vet tech came to the reception window and told us Ruca didn't make it. Not the surgeon. Not management. Just through a window, in front of my son. We then found out the surgeon had left around 2:30. We were told direction was being given by phone. To this day, we have never heard from the surgeon. We were told Ruca had a large mass/tumor and that a radiology report confirmed this. We later learned the x-rays had not even been sent to radiology until the next day. The explanation we were given that night was not true and documents we were given were intentionally altered. We were repeatedly told by the tech who cared for Ruca that her temperature was 88 degrees when my husband saw her, yet the records we received said something different. We were also given documents that did not match what we witnessed or what we were told. The clinic offered a necropsy through a "third party," but given everything that happened, we arranged our own through Bronson Animal Diagnostic Lab. When we picked Ruca up, we were asked to sign paperwork releasing liability before they would release her body. We refused. It took over an hour before we could take our girl. We then watched a tech struggle to remove our 110 lb dog, frozen and wrapped in garbage bags, from a freezer. I had to help lift her. We drove her two hours for answers. Those images will stay with us forever. The necropsy confirmed what we feared. Ruca died from internal bleeding. The signs were there: pale gums, low temp, collapse, and unresponsiveness. She spent hours declining while we sat feet away believing she was receiving the care she desperately needed. Since then, Jen Chyle (the director) has harrassed my wife at work, sent private records to our friends on Facebook, commented with laughing emojis to messages about the situation, ect. WE HAVE PROOF OF ALL OF THIS. Ruca was not just a dog. She was family. She deserved better. We deserved honesty.

I called and was able to come in the same day; it was much faster than I expected but I knew it was a possibility. I didn't want my little guy to suffer any longer for selfish reasons or a longer goodbye. When I arrived, everyone was very empathetic. They came in to give him a checkup to determine if it actually was the best course, and when they finished, the look of sorrow in the doctor's eye communicated that she agreed that my assessment was correct. The whole time I was bawling my eyes out, they were comforting me. They explained the procedure and administered the sedative and allowed me to hold and comfort my dog as it took its course to put him to sleep. I knew from how relaxed he became and his ability to breathe deep and easily that he was no longer in pain, and I held him until he finally fell asleep. He was dreaming, and his little paws were running one last time. At this point, they came back in and asked if I was ready for the next part. The male of the group was especially comforting to my dog, hugging him as they prepped him. And MOST IMPORTANTLY I was able to stay with my dog the whole time. The cremation package was excellent. Everything is included in one price; nothing additional for add-ons and the like. I got to pick my choice of urn and the label it would have. I was told it could take 2 weeks, but sometimes it could be shorter. It only took a week. The package was quite beautiful. My little guy's ashes are in a small, beautifully carved rosewood box with the tree of life. A cast of his paw and a beautiful card with a shaving of his fur and a few extras. It was all packaged quite nicely. I'm very happy with the care my dog got in his last moments and with his remains. I can't speak to the other reviews and where they were. But the VCA in New Port Richey made the last moments with my dog just a little bit more bearable and a quite beautiful layout to memorialize my little guy forever in my home.

They took my sweet girl on a Friday a 4:20pm and following her initial exam, carefully and clearly explained and in detail, answering all of my questions and concerns with compassion. Dr. Wendt offered several options for treatment with her advanced age the main consideration. Kirsten, the vet tech was so kind and gentle with little Gynness and cradled her like her own. Additionally, VCA Little Animal Hospital has a jewel in Tracy, the Client Service rep. She makes you feel like you are the only person in the room who needs answers and support, especially when you are dealing with an emergency and yet she speaks to everyone in the same lovely manner whether you are in person or on the phone. Exam and bloodwork provided answers at the surface and they provided medications to make her comfortable and treat the dehydration. Gynness showed immediate improvement in 12 hours. Because of her age, I will not put her through invasive testing and Dr. Wendt will ensure I have the medication she needs for a comfortable rest of life. I am very happy to have found VCA Little Animal Hospital and the extraordinary staff. My sister will be bringing her cat to VCA LAH for health exams and visits when she moves up at the end of the year. Thank you Dr. Wendt, Tracy and Kirsten.
