The drink menu the night I went was divided into sections: effervescent, shaken, stirred, and "exploring technique." I had two drinks: the "Siam Silk" is a tiki-ish riff on a clarified milk punch using cognac, a rum blend, and Thai iced tea with fruit; the other drink I had was a low-ABV riff on a Sherry Cobbler. They were both great, and I appreciate that they have a creative low/no-alcohol portion of the menu. This was definitely a pleasant surprise to find up north of Orlando, although perhaps I shouldn't have been surprised at all--Maitland has another one of my favorite bars in the metro area (Permanent Vacation). The bar has changed quite a bit since the last time I was inside but it was still good vibes all around. The bartenders made a great gimlet and spicy bloody mary for us. I'm impressed with how many bathrooms there were here! To me, that is necessary at a bar. Whoever was running sound that night did a great job because the band never felt overly loud. I was a little nervous about it without my ear plugs (why do I always forget those when I'm going to see a band!). Anyway, loved that they still had a photobooth and we had fun playing pinball for a while. This is a bit of an Orlando institution so I'm glad it's stuck around!
