I called Jim to see if he could come and service a 50+ year old Steinway studio piano that had mice living it in and was clogged with their debris (peanut shells, gnawed wood). It hadn't been tuned in at least 10 years. We set up an appointment for a few days later. Jim showed up before the appointment and went right to work cleaning out the piano. He repaired several keys with broken ribbons (I forget what these are called), completely cleaned the inside and keys, he softened the hammers on request to quieten the strike, and of course tuned the piano including a pitch change. He accomplished all of this in under 2 and a half hours and charged a very reasonable fee for his time. I will definitely call Jim when I need the next tuneup. Thanks Jim! read more

I absolutely enjoyed working with Jim. He was on time, fairly priced, and he did great work. Some people might try to add on things but Jim instead tried to educate me about the piano and postpone unnecessary services. I will have tune and clean the piano on a regular basis.
