Service is always great here. Staff has always been friendly. The last time we went, they messed up a couple times on the pizza. We were a party of 5 and there were a lot of people there that day. TLDR : Pizza is good, cheese bread is great! Stopped by on our way home after a baseball game got rained out in Gastonia. Pies are 9" personals and a bit on the expensive side imho. I got the combination pizza that tasted almost exactly like a frozen pizza brand I shall not name. Crust was thin and crispy and didn't have a lot of flavor. Wife had the BBQ pork which was good but nothing to drive out of our way for. The star here was the cheesy bread. This is what I would have liked the crust on my pizza to have been! Light, fluffy and flavorful. I found myself picking the pieces with little to no cheese as the bread was amazing! Cute little pizza spot located in the heart of downtown Town Square Lincolnton. Locally owned and operated; this place boasts some splendid flavors and a quaint atmosphere. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is they messed up my order but ended up giving me the pizza even though I didn't end up eating the shiitake mushrooms with white sauce & crushed red pepper flakes bc it was terrible. But the pepperoni pizza we ordered was absolutely delicious. I wish they had a much needed sense of urgency when making the pizzas but it's the South and maybe it's me who needs to relax and just enjoy the moment. No idea. Anyway, I think this place is great and the wood fired crispy crust on the personal pizza was mouthwatering and delightful. Go here and support local bc you won't regret it. read more

To thin not enough toppings and lacking on taste especially for the price. Not for me personally

Went to Good Wood Pizzeria on Saturday 7/19/2025 with a friend . We were riding motorcycles and my friend had been here several times. The pizza was delicious and came out very quickly. It was a hot day but eating on the porch with the fans made eating outside tolerable. The staff were very courteous and I highly recommend this place because you pick exactly what you want on your individual pizza and it is so good. read more

This place is great! Staff was friendly and helpful. When you come in you fill out a slip for each person about the pizza that you want, grab your drink, pay and then head to the patio. The patio is covered, spacious and has heaters and fans. It was wonderful out there. The pizzas are all single serving, thin crust pizzas and they are made in wood fire oven. Personally, I liked the crust. The pizza is a bit light on sauce, which I didn't mind. Just know that extra sauce is an option on the list and may be worth considering. We all thought it was a good amount of cheese. We really enjoyed this place and will be back! read more

After hiking the Carolina Thread Trail (South Fork Rail Trail), we went to Good Wood Pizza for lunch. There were seven of us. After placing our order, we chose a nice large table on the outdoor patio. Excellent and fast service. All of the pizzas were tasty. We stayed and visited for over hour after we finished eating. I just love our downtown and it is really exploding lately with great places to shop and eat. This addition to our downtown restaurant scene is a perfect niche restaurant where you create your own pies to order and they bake them up just for you in record time! The process for ordering is a little different. You get the paper menu from the counter and it doubles as your order form. Make your selections: sauces, cheeses, toppings and sign your name. I ordered mine with ham, artichokes, pepperoni and mushrooms. I've heard quite a few people complain about the mushrooms being canned, so if that bothers you, know that. I, however, don't mind the canned mushrooms, so it was just fine for me. The pizza itself was so delicious. The sauce isn't too zesty, very simple. The crust from the wood oven is where this pie really shines. Mine had a few "burnt" spots on it and that made it perfect. Each pie is an individual pie, and I took half of mine home. Space inside is limited, but luckily they have a nice covered patio in the back of the restaurant. I sat out there in December, and I was fine with the heaters they turn on. You can also choose to sit at the bar or the one "low" table they have. Great restaurant in historic downtown Lincolnton! Can't wait to get back over! read more

This place is a great little gem in downtown Lincolnton. I would give it three stars for the pizza, but the service made me give it four. Everyone is super friendly and has a wonderful small town feel. I love that you can get personal pizzas and build it just how you like. They have a variety of offerings and three different bases, including, tomato, roasted garlic and basil pesto. So if you have food restrictions it's easy to build a pizza for you. They even have cauliflower crust! The flavors won't blow your mind, but it's nice and pleasant. Maybe next time I'll add a drizzle and spice it up. The downside is they have canned mushrooms. The best part is the crust! It's thin and wood fired. Sooooo good. Just how I like my pizza. Definitely check it out the next time you're around the area! read more

Tender, flaky crust, fresh sauce and toppings. absolutely dee-lish-ous. Generous toppings and that wood oven taste is so refreshing, especially after eating that chain-pizza-swill. Excellent find. I ate every piece of the pie and wished I had more. Don't get me wrong, it was the perfect size. You start by grabbing a menu and circling the items you want on your pizza or simple flip the menu over and select a specialty pizza and circle that. Write your name on the menu and turn it in to pay. They have a large variety of sodas and a nice selection of beer. I got mine to go and took it back to my hotel. I had to call them back to let them know how much I enjoyed it. By the way, the receptionist at the Hampton Inn told me I had to go there. So glad she did! read more
