With that said, the hair and makeup on my grandma were horrible. I did not know that she didn't want to use this funeral home until after her services. Apparently she had told my family that they don't make the bodies look good, and she was right! There was an inch gap between her makeup and hairline where pale skin showed. It could be seen from the back of the room, that white outline that almost glowed. When closer, I could see where the makeup completely missed part of her nose, her hands were blotchy, face streaked. It looked like an airbrush was used improperly, it was even in her eyebrows and eyelashes. We could even see where her neck had been stitched up from embalming her. I would think that the outfit she were to wear would be considered when deciding where to perform the embalming. I'm not familiar enough with the process to know, so this may have been unavoidable. I've been to many funerals and wakes, I do not expect the body to look like the person it once was. I do expect better than this though.

We felt that the cost was reasonable and even though it's not the largest space, they were still able to accommodate everyone who came. They are a family business and they do everything they can to make the experience seamless. I liked that they helped create the tribute video and had a staff member making sure things were stocked and clean while we were there. It ended up snowing before we left and the owners cleaned off all the cars and made sure pathways were shoveled, that was a very kind gesture after a long day.

I have had two experiences of my own with this funeral home, which were excellent. I have gone to…read morewakes for friends and family members and their services also appeared to be top-notch. However, it was very disturbing that my family member passed away a few months ago And aside from the fact that I'm still receiving multiple surveys in the mail one was addressed to my deceased family member and went to that home address. This was a survey on the funeral home experience. I had to call this morning and inform them. I spoke to John, and he was extremely apologetic and stated he would speak to the owners to make sure that this doesn't happen again. I'm not even sure how this happened in the first place being the deceased name and address weren't on any of the paperwork aside from the death certificate. It's pretty much one of the last things a grieving individual needs, and it was made worse by the fact that I had a travel to get the mailing. In my opinion, I don't find this appropriate or excusable.
