In January, 2026, I went in for a routine cleaning. The hygenist got real excited that I needed a deep cleaning and ran to the front desk. Dr Brown told that I needed a deep cleaning. When i checked out I was greeted by a "Treatment Plan" that had two appointments - priced at $704 each and my next regular appointment would be $225. The plan had mandatory $100 payment to secure the appointments. I gave them $212 for these appointments not knowing to this day what the $12 was for. It was clear on the form the 2 $100 payments were for the treatments and any money would be returned if the treatment was not done. There was no discussion- all this done in the lobby with other patients listening. It was uncomforable at best. I made 2 appointments and canceled both in a timely manner. I first got an email from the office that I could pick up or they could mail the $212 check. Then the office manager took it upon herself to take $200 and apply it to another bill and mailed a $12 check to "save me a trip". I challenged the credit with my bank as the $200 was for the deep cleaning which i did not have. BEWARE.. IF YOU GET A TREATMENT PLAN... GET A SECOND OPINION AND CANCEL THE APPOINTMENTS. MY NEW DENTIST SAID I COULD GET A DEEP CLEANING BUT I DID NOT NEED IT. Went in for an emergency, cracked tooth. The ground down the top of the tooth "to help". Which only made the pain so much worse. Then told me they couldn't do an extraction for another 10 days. Then stated they would write me a prescription for the pain. But the office staff never sent the prescription over to the pharmacy and left me in excruciating pain with no medication. I went to see Dr. Brown a few months ago with an infection under a crown on an implant. He sold me a psycho expensive iodine mouthwash that I assumed would get rid of the infection, but no. Went back today, and he told me they were going to have to cut the crown and reassess the issue under the crown. I told him I couldn't afford that, and just wanted an antibiotic to kill the infection. He got rather angry and said I didn't want him to help me. No, I can't afford for you to help me like that. It was obvious that we were not a good match, so I told him I would find a new effing dentist. After which, he got hostile, told me to "get out you c**ksucker!" I ended up in the ICU for 5 days... all because of my "Dentist"! His incompetence created an infection that spread. He even explained to me how he made the "bad judgment call". Later, in attempt to resolve his mistake, he started a root canal on the infected/ inflamed nerve WITHOUT numbing it and actually refused to numb it properly. Because I was screaming in pain, he became verbally and physically abusive, then kicked me out of the office. read more

What can I say? From Dr. Brown to everyone I interacted with here, all have been awesome! I don't live in town, however, come here a couple times a year. I am so thankful for these people! First visit was in 2018, they were so wonderful. Unfortunately, I had an issue that could not wait until I got back home this year (2021). Gave them a call and they got me in after the weekend, which was perfect. I needed to come back before leaving town and they got me right in to take care of me. I will see them again at the holidays for the permanent work and look forward to seeing them. If I lived here, Dr. Brown and staff would be my regular office for sure! I was the queen of dental fear until last week. Now I'm just the princess. :) In 2010, a Tucson dentist did x-rays and told me I had a tooth so dead it would have to be extracted. If I wanted to replace it with an implant, that was a multi-month and $5K process. I pretty much ran out of that office crying. In 2011, the front face of this tooth broke off leaving me with a stub that just got blacker and blacker over time as I did NOTHING about it. It didn't hurt so I was just self conscious but more afraid of dentists than anything. In 2014, a different dentist did x-rays and told me to have that tooth extracted. It's dead and can't be saved. I figured I'd save my money and have the work done in 2016. Last week (August 2015), I went to Dr Gibbons in the Goodman office. I was expecting to just have some cavities filled... because I hadn't had cavities filled since 1996. Dental fear. Dr Gibbons took one look at my famous dead tooth and said he can save it. We can do a root canal and a crown and I'll have a tooth again. I couldn't believe it! I cried at the idea of having a tooth rather than a decaying food trap. I've spent 4.5 years Photoshopping a tooth into pics and now I'd have one. We put the cavities on hold and just focused on fixing the tooth. Dr G was a master with Novocaine and I felt nothing. I cried again when I saw a full smile again. And it was way less than $5K plus all done in one visit. I will go back to Dr Gibbons whether or not I have dental insurance. He and his staff were amazing. I can tell he's meticulous and passionate about what he does. He never cuts corners or rushes. I still have a bunch of cavities to do, and I want Dr Gibbons doing them... and I live in San Francisco. Tucson is my adopted hometown. :) To the complainer here, I can't imagine that nobody gave you a quote. They gave me two quotes and spent a LOT of time explaining them and talking about my options based on my budget. And to the complainer, you CAN ask them what they will do and what it will cost. But the staff are so thorough I can't imagine they skipped that part. No different than going to an auto mechanic. Want to know what it'll cost? Ask. Not sure what contract the complainer here is talking about. Nobody made me sign a contract to get dental work done. I'm also not sure how this guy knows in August 2015 that he might get a bill in 6 months (when it's still August 2015 as I type this). If you are psychic then you would know how much your dental work was going to cost. Maybe he's the shill. I completely trust Dr G and I'm not a shill. I'm a happy customer that you'll probably see on his website since I let them take before and after pics of my tooth. Msg me if you want. read more

I needed to get in quick, I had a 20-year-old filling that came out. They got me in fast were amazingly nice. I hate dentists. I'm not kidding, I hate them. When I was a surgical nurse I even refused to work with oral surgeons when they'd make their rare appearances in the OR. These are not guys I like, let's just get that straight. That said, I finally caved in and went to see Dr. Roy Brown at Goodman Dental in November. I was anticipating needing a lot of dental work based on recommendations of a dentist I'd seen a few years ago. I was quite pleased with how kind and responsive the staff at the office were. Everyone made me feel as comfortable as possible despite my insane fear of even going in the building. The medical staff were wonderful, they were very polite and caring and seemed to understand my fear even when it came to doing the bitewing X-rays. Dr. Brown was equally kind and patient. He was as gentle as possible while doing the exam and much to my surprise recommended a much more conservative treatment than the doctor I had seen before. It's strange to say that I'm looking forward to returning for followup care and while it might take a few Xanax once they get going, I won't be nearly as freaked out as I could have been. read more

I have had teeth issues since I was a kid and have seen many dentists over the years. Dr. Brown is by far the most gentle, kind and knowledgeable dentist I've been to. I have never had a problem going to the dentist. The problem is finding a new one I like when I move. I traveled back to MN for a few yrs after moving here to go to my favorite dentist/hygienist. Finally got tired of doing that and heard about Goodman Dental from a couple of people. Probably been going about 5 years now and find them very good. Everyone is very nice. I have had Dr Brown replace all my silver (really old) fillings with nice white ones. No pain and looks so much nicer. I find their rates reasonable. They have never suggested things I don't need or want. So don't pay attention to those bad reviews give them a try. read more

My visit was in Sep 2015-Wrong office to use if your dental care includes periodontic care from a doctor who utilizes Perioscopy. ( Small cameras that are used with/without tools below the gumline for diagnostic and treatment.) In my case this office proved incapable of providing dental care which incorporated periodontics/perioscopy into their own treatment "gameplan/play-book". Dr. Gibbons scheduled an appointment for a regular cleaning. In the chair, the hygienist wanted to do a periodontal maintenance cleaning which was against my periodontist's recommendations. The hygienist argued with me about this and then pulled the "I'm the one with the professional training/education" response. I called for Dr. Gibbons to come in and settle the matter as I had previously fully informed him of my dental history. He was unable to recall that history and seemed in favor of doing the "PMC". I told them both that I did NOT want a "PMC" but rather the standard "Prophy" cleaning without the polishing. The hygienist proceeded to do a "PMC" anyway (without notifying me...) and with an aggressiveness that made it the most painful cleaning I have had to date in my life. She also started to do the polishing process which I and Dr. Gibbons had agreed would not be done due to sensitivity issues. I stopped her as she was trying to polish the inside of my lower fronts. It was as I was paying the bill that I discovered she had done the more costly and aggressive "PMC" instead of the standard cleaning. I visited another dentist as I was in much pain which didn't go away for days. The "new" dentist found multiple tears in the soft tissues in the areas which Imelda (the hygienist...) had been ham-handed. The "new" dentist treated the areas to reduce the inflammation and deal with a minor infection caused by the damage done during the "PMC" done at this dental office. I brought the whole matter to the attention of my periodontist. Her recommendation was/is, "Don't go back there." I did go back but only to pick up my dental records. read more

I took my daughter to this dental office and gave them a voucher for cleaning, Xrays and exam. They asked for her dental card in case she came back. But instead they took the voucher and billed the insurance company. She came in twice more for dental work and everytime I asked them what she owed and paid them. She had one more appointment scheduled so I called to make sure she had a zero balance. Only to find out now she owes $172.00. I think this dental office are incompetent and unscrupulous. I don't think they have a clue as to what they are doing. I would absolutely not recommend them to anyone read more

The other two reviews look like shills to me. The fancy offices give a false impression. These people did the worst dentistry I ever had. And their billing practices - get a written quote from them before you let them do anything otherwise the additional charges are ridiculous. You could get a bill even 6 months after you thought you had paid in full. Trust nothing they deal you. Read their contract very carefully. Check every detail. read more
