It was such a pleasure to work with Goodmans. My husband and I decided to redo our entire landscape and hardscape. We had a general idea in mind, but didn't know exactly what we wanted. The owner, David Goodman, came to our house looked at our yard and helped us create a plan that maximized our space while staying in our budget. Once we signed the contract work was completed quickly and well done. However Goodman's went above and beyond. A few weeks after work was completed, we had two landscape lights stolen from our front yard. When I reached out to Goodmans to purchase replacements, they offered to replace the lights for free given the situation. It was such a pleasant surprise and speaks to the quality of the company! I have used Goodmans for weed control and some landscaping for years. The last time I went online to pay invoice prior for service it would not work so I did not unlock my gate and figured we would reschedule. They contacted me saying outstanding bill and I told them gate was locked. She told me service provider said he completed! Eventually they came back and said he only did front yard. They called me a liar when its their person who was not honest!! Do not let them do service if you are not at home- who knows if its being completed since they use clear product. The fact that the initial response was to assume I was lying is poor customer service! As someone who spent 30 yrs in retail management this was a very negative experience that could have been handled very differently. read more

We have been using Goodman's for a couple of years now, primarily on a quarterly basis for general cleanup. They do a great job and we also added irrigation repair and tree trimming services periodically as needed. Their field team listens closely to our "wants", but also takes care of our "needs". They also give advice, especially when we want something that may not be a great idea for a particular plant or situation. Today, they even cleaned up some debris that made it onto our pool/spa surface during their cleanup...good attention to detail. read more

I used Goodman's for 1 1/2 years for bi-monthly landscape maintenance- I recently cancelled my service. Goodman's is ridiculously overpriced for mediocre work- at best. They would break sprinkler heads with the lawn mower, and instead of just fixing them they send out an "irrigation specialist" for a $75 trip fee and then an additional $75/hour. If you have any issues, they send out the foreman, who is clearly there to sell you on extra services, which should be included in the routine maintenance. I had several plants die due to under watering, which were on a drip irrigation. Instead of letting me know they were stressed and adjusting the water, they would just let them die and try to sell you new plants. Their summer and winter lawn estimates are outrageously expensive, and they don't even take the time to make sure the irrigation is correct for the seed to grow properly. They would move lawn furniture, when they cut the grass, and not move it back and damaged my stucco with the furniture. The only reason I waited so long to cancel is because I work long hours and never had time to find a new landscaper. Now that I have someone new, I'm happy to say I no longer need to deal with this company. read more

This company does a good job with automatic billing/invoicing. Unfortunately they fall short in the actual work they do, landscape maintenance. They repeatedly shorted us on our allotted time and always failed to perform at least one item on our weekly service. I cannot recommend Goodman's as they overpromise and under deliver. I have used a couple of landscape companies before hiring Goodman's; I did not know what I was missing. They come prepared each week with a plan and work hard for every hour you are paying for. Having people on site that are trained arborists and horticulturalists cost a little bit more, but that kind of education and experience and show in the results. Goodman's people communicate well have never tried to sell me anything I didn't want or need. Our yard looks the best it ever has. Yes, it may cost 10% more, but they are worth every penny. read more

Company does not confirm services in advance, I asked for a 3 hour window to be provided so someone could be home during their work, refused to provide that and continued to say they were only "tentatively" scheduled. And they were holding over $600 of my money which is apparently required for them to even start work. This went back and forth with an incompetent employee in the office who could not understand that I was simply requesting a several hour window to be home, not a precise time. Fortunately I was home because when they did arrive unannounced, they said they had been given no direction on what to do despite a manager having arrived previously to assess and quote all needed work. Took 20 minutes to go through it again before they even started work and the office claimed they were giving me an advantage since they would not charge me this time for the extra 20 mins - which was due to their lack of communication. Consistent with many other reviews, this company is overpriced, does mediocre work at best, and the office staff is entirely incompetent. Many better landscaping companies out there! read more

I contacted Goodman's after using a variety of services in the Arrowhead area. I received a same day quote from Jimmy, and the crew was able to come out to service my yard 2 days later. Matthew, the crew foreman was so communicative, polite, efficient, and professional. The whole crew went above and beyond my expectation. Additionally Joy, who handles billing and customer service really lives up to her name. So professional, so friendly, always a pleasure to speak with. I used goodman's for a few years now off and on when I needed yard clean up and general maintenance of bushes and shrubs. They were always timely and always did great work until very recently. The crew leader who worked in my area for many years doesn't appear to be doing so and either by the crew's new leadership direction or company direction, corners are now being cut. Traditionally, they would pull the weeds out of the ground and let me know if a plant was not going to be able to be salvaged. They did a very good job at letting me know what's going on and would even ask if something was OK to do. Instead, they now use weed eaters on everything, leaf blow, maybe rake, and then move on to the next job, only for the weeds to just come back within days. Unfortunately the new crew leader does not listen to customer requests and tries to up sell you on other services, whilst simultaneously trying to insult your intelligence. I hired you and your crew to perform a job, not to be told what type of weed that's infesting my yard. I don't know what happened, but this is longer the landscaping company I used in the past. If you want quick, ineffective, and non-lasting work, go with Goodman's. If you want actual attention to detail, you may want to put in the effort and shop around for a more reputable company. read more

After looking at their website for drainage and erosion control I was impressed so I called, as their web page suggested " Contact the landscape drainage and erosion control experts today for a free landscape drainage and erosion control consultation. We will provide you with a variety of custom drainage solutions that are specifically for your yard(s)". When I called they stated they charge $300 for an estimate and continued to tell me about their retainer for their services. When I questioned about what their website stated she sounded shocked and did not believe that it said that on their site. She offered no apology. I was not expecting CAD's for free, just what they stated on their website. Happy that I found out early what this company is like. read more

The worst maintenance I've ever had. My yard has never looked worse. Crew would damage sprinklers and not repair, and even worse, did not even report it so that water leaked for weeks. Crew left irrigation valves open so that the irrigation pits were open and dangerous for kids playing in the yard. Spoke with manager several times and nothing was ever done better and in fact proceeded to get worse, almost like they were baiting me to terminate service. I normally do not like to leave bad reviews but the service and customer service has been a terrible experience and hope this helps others. read more
