When we decided it was time to go ahead with our landscaping, we contacted several landscape companies for quotes. Right from the start we found James from SonoranScapes the most responsive and professional. Other companies either took way too long to reply to calls or certainly were not the most innovative people to deal with. We previously worked with one landscaper to develop a design for the entire yard - back and front. While it took much longer than anticipated, it helped to give us a visual layout. This experience however, also gave us the necessary input to realize we did not want to continue working with that organization. The quote from SonoranScapes was the most competitive we received. The work was to complete implementation in both back and front of our property and James's quote encompassed all the work we wanted without cutting any corners. We were quoted nearly twice as much from other organizations. We had a few concerns about the design we had, and James was able to provide us with some great alternatives and suggestions to make the end project look outstanding. He was incredibly easy to work with, flexible and always responsive to any questions we had. We would also mention that James is very "hands-on", besides being onsite most of the time and very involved in the actual work. James has helped me with a few projects around my backyard. At first I just had him do some turf and pavers. I was impressed from the beginning his knowledge on the subject. I got quotes from a few other hardscape companies and it seemed like most of them didn't really know the details about their products. He did such a good job on that project, even going further with little details I hadn't even though about. The whole setup was very clean and professional. I'm not sure if it's because of his skilled help, or if it's because of the fertilizing system he installed for us, but either way we are thrilled. They also adjust my watering depending on the time of year, and check my sprinklers on occasion to make sure my grass is getting evenly watered. Great service! Update: James just finished my landscape out my new house, and wow! We did inground trampoline that the kids absolutely love. A basic one star for just not calling back. I called and got the female receptionist/office worker and she took down a bunch of information including my phone number and what we needed and never got back to us. Normally I wouldn't care I would call again but we actually had an emergency situation with the leaking drip system and we needed somebody to come out. No courtesy call no nothing in my left a second message it went on returned as well. I have no idea what their quality of services but based on the phone response I would say it's probably not a great idea to do business with someone who won't call a perspective customer back. read more

I needed some suggestions on improving the consistency of watering on my lawn. I also needed a few one-off jobs completed (cleaning river rock beds & removing a brush pile). I got the company's number from our neighbor, who uses this company. I called and left a message. Within an hour, the owner, James, called me back. He said he could come by the next day. He took a look at the various things I needed, and gave me some suggestions. He even gave me a bunch of sprinkler head replacements, without charging me and without knowing if I would ultimately hire him for the jobs. That night, I had quotes on the various projects. UPDATE: ***After owners arrogant response, I'll just give them 2 stars like they deserve, I shouldn't have to supervise your crews, that is YOUR job. I am not a tree arborist, But, the professional tree arborist who looked at them days after you guys did it said it looked like crap, and took the time to explain the proper way to cut tree branches, being not too close to damage the branch collar or too long so that the branch stubs will not allow the branch collar to heal itself... both types of bad cuts being evident all over the tree and he graciously pointed them out to me and I will happily send you photos of all the bad cuts, if you want. These are the types of things you hire a professional for. So yes, I thought it was fine at the time, but a professional seems to think otherwise. So I am going to trust his opinion. Don't try and make me sound unreasonable for expecting a good job, especially when the job wasn't completed the first time. Hiring you was a mistake and just goes to show that yelp reviews can easily be pumped up by friends, business networks, and down right phony reviews by fake profiles that only have one single review ever written*** I called them because of all the stellar reviews here, so how could they not be awesome, right? Well.. I don't know. I am not convinced. They are OK. I called them to fix my sprinkler system and get a full service lawn care in the front and back yards, as well as some tree trimming. James came out to bid the job, quoted $350 and we shook hands. He also replaced a leaky end cap on a drip system line while he was there. He didn't investigate the drip system that much and it turned out that a 24V solenoid needed to be changed on the front system which was causing constant water flow. I figured that out on my own a week later as I will still having drip system issues and didn't feel like calling them back a third time, and repaired it on my own. The lawn care and tree trimming were done when I was out of town, I came home that night and it hadn't looked like my yard had really been touched at all. Weeds were still everywhere, the grass in the back hadn't been mowed or trimmed, and the trees didn't look trimmed. I contacted James and he sent his crew out to make the job right. They showed up and re-did the work and it looked better when they came out. I will say we had another landscape company come out a few days later to quote some monthly/quarterly maintenance and they said our trees looked like crap. I am dissapointed overall. Oh well. Lesson learned. Another Anthem company that gets great reviews from their business network circles and friends, but the work never meets review expectations. I would give 2 stars, but I will give 3 since he made an attempt to make things right. read more

I chose this company solely on the great reviews on here. I unfortunately have not experienced the same great service. I requested an appointment via website and never received a call back. I left two additional voicemails before receiving a call back. When I received the call back I was told they were very busy and to text their number my address and they could come out that day. After waiting around for 8hours and taking the day off from work no one showed up. This all took place over a four day period and we still have not received a call back in regards to no one even showing up. Any company that is too busy to no show on a customer needs to highly consider hiring additional help. read more
