I contacted Goodman's after using a variety of services in the Arrowhead area. I received a same day quote from Jimmy, and the crew was able to come out to service my yard 2 days later. Matthew, the crew foreman was so communicative, polite, efficient, and professional. The whole crew went above and beyond my expectation. Additionally Joy, who handles billing and customer service really lives up to her name. So professional, so friendly, always a pleasure to speak with. Their prices are on the higher side but I really believe that you get what you pay for. Really looking forward to building my relationship with this company! read more

Company does not confirm services in advance, I asked for a 3 hour window to be provided so someone could be home during their work, refused to provide that and continued to say they were only "tentatively" scheduled. And they were holding over $600 of my money which is apparently required for them to even start work. This went back and forth with an incompetent employee in the office who could not understand that I was simply requesting a several hour window to be home, not a precise time. Fortunately I was home because when they did arrive unannounced, they said they had been given no direction on what to do despite a manager having arrived previously to assess and quote all needed work. Took 20 minutes to go through it again before they even started work and the office claimed they were giving me an advantage since they would not charge me this time for the extra 20 mins - which was due to their lack of communication. Consistent with many other reviews, this company is overpriced, does mediocre work at best, and the office staff is entirely incompetent. Many better landscaping companies out there! read more

After looking at their website for drainage and erosion control I was impressed so I called, as their web page suggested " Contact the landscape drainage and erosion control experts today for a free landscape drainage and erosion control consultation. We will provide you with a variety of custom drainage solutions that are specifically for your yard(s)". When I called they stated they charge $300 for an estimate and continued to tell me about their retainer for their services. When I questioned about what their website stated she sounded shocked and did not believe that it said that on their site. She offered no apology. I was not expecting CAD's for free, just what they stated on their website. Happy that I found out early what this company is like. read more

I used goodman's for a few years now off and on when I needed yard clean up and general maintenance of bushes and shrubs. They were always timely and always did great work until very recently. The crew leader who worked in my area for many years doesn't appear to be doing so and either by the crew's new leadership direction or company direction, corners are now being cut. Traditionally, they would pull the weeds out of the ground and let me know if a plant was not going to be able to be salvaged. They did a very good job at letting me know what's going on and would even ask if something was OK to do. Instead, they now use weed eaters on everything, leaf blow, maybe rake, and then move on to the next job, only for the weeds to just come back within days. Unfortunately the new crew leader does not listen to customer requests and tries to up sell you on other services, whilst simultaneously trying to insult your intelligence. I hired you and your crew to perform a job, not to be told what type of weed that's infesting my yard. I don't know what happened, but this is longer the landscaping company I used in the past. If you want quick, ineffective, and non-lasting work, go with Goodman's. If you want actual attention to detail, you may want to put in the effort and shop around for a more reputable company. read more

The worst maintenance I've ever had. My yard has never looked worse. Crew would damage sprinklers and not repair, and even worse, did not even report it so that water leaked for weeks. Crew left irrigation valves open so that the irrigation pits were open and dangerous for kids playing in the yard. Spoke with manager several times and nothing was ever done better and in fact proceeded to get worse, almost like they were baiting me to terminate service. I normally do not like to leave bad reviews but the service and customer service has been a terrible experience and hope this helps others. read more

I was here checking out some landscaping ideas that I had for my front yard. I have been using Goodman's for my back yard's maintenance for quite some time, so I wanted to use them for my front yard design ideas too. My front yard was pretty much in shambles because I have neglected it for so long. I actually am going to blame the people that I bought the house from because it wasn't in that great of shape when I bought it. ;) Anyways, I wanted to have landscaping lights with a center tree, a couple of cacti, irrigation (automated), and all new rocks. It isn't anything too fancy, but my neighborhood doesn't really deserve some of the fancier designs that they showed me were possible. Wow, it was really cool seeing all of my options with previous landscaping jobs that they have done. It really helped with my decision to go with them too. What design did I go with? I decided to go with a hybrid between my ideas and their proposals. I want to post pictures of the final project because it is damn beautiful, if I do say so myself. :-) The staff was in-and-out and everything turned out great. I am really happy with my new front yard that I now can show off to the other jealous neighbors... lol read more

We have used Goodman's for several years. Before hiring David and company for regular maintenance we had worked with three different individuals, all of whom did very good work for reasonable fees. Until they just stopped showing up and returning our phone calls. That NEVER happens with Goodman's. Francisco is our crew leader; we love him! He is a really nice guy, a joy to have at our home. He does an excellent job managing our landscape needs! If we ask him to handle something special for us he will make sure it is well done. David Goodman helped us with a yard refresh a couple of years ago, and we felt the completed job was wonderful and the cost reasonable. We get lots of compliments on our back yard! Dependable, hard-working and competitive cost-wise... that's why we stay with Goodman's. They recently raised our hourly rate, but David was kind enough to call us and discuss the reasons. I didn't use this company because it was not possible to book an appointment with them. I called their office multiple times to schedule an estimate. The first two times, the receptionist said someone would call me back to schedule an appointment. The third time I called, he said someone would call, but because they are backed up, "it could be in a day or two or in a month." I stopped calling after that. I had a lawn drainage issue that was causing flooding into my Arizona room which had not been raised off of the slab. David came out and gave me a quote for the service and walked me through everything he wanted to do. While his quote was higher than some others I spoke with, I went with Goodman's because David was so thorough and helpful. On the day of the project, he met with me again with his crew so I was reassured that we all knew what the plan was and what work was going to be done. He was so patient. I thought his crew was thorough and hardworking and they got done in under the estimated time. Then, when the project was done David checked in to make sure everything had been completed to my satisfaction and to see if I had any questions. Sometimes you have to be willing to pay for the extra customer service and care to detail that a company shows it will put into a large, expensive project. I have to wait for the next monsoon to see the result, but I am sure if there is any issue that David will have his crew out to help fix it. I'm so happy I went with Goodman's and can't recommend him enough! read more

We called to get an estimate and they never showed and never called. We have 2 young kids and when you make an appointment you end up rearranging your schedule which isn't easy. It is ignorant for a company to not make an attempt to notify you of a change. We will never use this company and I would advise anyone to rethink using them if they can't be courteous enough to show up when they tell you they will. read more

Surprised/disappointed with their designer, Michael. He came out last week. I advised I had an absolute $10k budget and I got an EMAIL (not a proposal) from him the next day saying he "crunched the numbers" with his total over $12k. I responded by asking for a breakdown of line items on his bid (just how did he arrive at this figure??) I never heard back from him!! Just like the others on Yelp have mentioned, apparently my project wasn't big enough for Goodman's to be engaged. Pretty rude if you ask me! I guess I'll spend my money somewhere else! read more

They raised my quarterly landscaping from $190 to $310 without any notice and automatically deducted that amount from my credit card. Their contract states any adjustment to the price would need to be done through a new agreement which was never sent. When I asked the owner about this he was rude and blamed it on me and other customers who "didn't read their mail" which is BS. I never got anything stating my rate would go up or a new service agreement. I didn't ask for a full refund of the $310, just the $120 amount that I was never made aware of. The owner pretty much told me he didn't care and he was not going to refund anything. He was rude and disrespectful. A dispute has been filed with my credit card company. Worst experience ever! Front man will promise you everything and offer to fix it. "On it." "Can do." but he's not the guy out there supervising or following up. We were told after they put a hole in our house and put in an outlet that we would have to hire an electrician because the pump they put in wouldn't work. After troubleshooting the pump, it was an instillation issue that they did fix eventually. Never again. read more

I was very impressed with Mr Goodmans response to peoples complaints over cost. You get what you pay for. Mr goodman has been in business for 30 years with a great record ( i checked) You people who complain about a quote you don't like and drag down some ones online business profile are pathetic. If you don't like it go somewhere else. You will get a fly by night who will do poor work and then you will be unhappy. First, I have to say that the crew who performed the work were very good, polite and professional. The office staff however, was a nightmare! They seemed incapable of even taking the simplest of messages. I would need to make arrangements for alternate service dates due to vacations, etc. and the crew would show up on the wrong date (not their fault), they were simply never given the proper instructions. In addition, their prices are exorbitant. They recently sent me a letter stating they were going to almost DOUBLE the cost of my service and did not provide any explanation as to why. I immediately cancelled the service and am going with a new company. The new company is charging me a fraction of what Goodman's wanted to charge and they will maintenance my home on a Saturday! All's well that ends well - be wary of Goodman's, there are much better companies out there that are just as good and much more reasonably priced (including an office staff that have a reasonable amount of intelligence). read more

Goodman's Landscape Maintenance did a complete overhaul of our backyard (and front yard) after an auto crashed into our backyard, literally destroying our backyard. David and his team were professional, efficient, and did excellent work. I was extremely pleased with the outcome, our house looks absolutely amazing! During the project, we had to go out of town and our neighbors commented how professional the crew was. They were all of in uniform, supervisors were on site giving direction to the crew to ensure the job was done to our specifications. Our neighbor was also impressed with how hard they worked throughout the whole day, even when we weren't there to supervise. Our neighbors were so impressed they are going to be contacting Goodman's for some work they need to do as well. I highly recommend Goodman's to anyone that wants their job done right, done on time, and done in a very high quality manner. Their follow-through on every aspect has been nothing short of amazing! Very disappointed, wanted a single tree trimmed and was quoted almost $580. I was told that this was a minimum and if there were other things in my yard I wanted done that I should add that to the job. Well, if I wanted more done, I would have asked for it. I hired them for a complete front yard demolition and re-design and the job is now complete, but... They are HIGHLY DISORGANIZED. They do not show up when they say they will, and then show up unexpectedly on a day that was not scheduled and expect me to be available to accept deliveries of material. Even the owner promised to be at my house to oversee an issue being fixed, and he never called or showed up. Of course this lead to the job not being finished properly again b/c I could not stay to oversee the work either. They have billed me the full amount before the job was complete, which gives them little incentive to come back and fix the minor issues. One last thing, even though it was a huge hassle getting the work coordinated and done right, the actual work was very well done and looks great. read more

It was fine until their repair service used false claims to defend double billing me. It really felt like they are just out to bleed money from people since most who are willing to pay double for landscape maintnence can afford it. Very expensive and not that good of work, especially for the cost. I have received bids from these folks for two of my other projects (yard redesign/stucco work and tree trimming/maintenance) and never chose them because of different reasons. The yard redesign was almost double what I got it done for from another very reputable contractor (which did awesome work). The tree maintenance cost was in line with what I was already paying (two very large trees) but I liked the other reputable, certified trimmers better (they had "tree" in their company name). Because I always got great response from these guys for quotes I decided to just use them for my "new turf" project instead of getting bids (stupid, stupid me). This included removing existing grass, tilling and mulching existing ground, installing new sprinkler system and installing the sod/turf on about 2,000 sq ft. David came out Monday morning and gave me a written bid for the initial ground work (grass removal) but because of the ground condition it was hard to tell how much work the tilling would involve and it have to be determined by trying to till a small section (for about one hour). He gave verbal estimates on the rest but the only paperwork I had was for the initial ground work when he left. He said could start work on Wednesday and that he would be there first thing to get the "workers" started in the right direction. Wednesday came (still no written estimate) and the "workers" showed up and started working but no David until about an hour after they had started. There were questions about how to do the remaining work and I said "no mas" because I had no idea how much the other work was going to cost which stopped their work. As soon as I received an email with the estimated cost of the other work I immediately stopped them from proceeding further and sent them on their way as the cost was a definite "ankle grab". Upon further research it seemed like they were actually at least double the cost of everything I needed. I ordered the exact same grass/sod and installation from the same place they were going to get it from for half the price David quoted me. Also, after deciding to do the sprinkler work myself, I noticed the 6"-8" of tilling and mulching they were paid exorbitantly to do amounted to only about a 3"-4" depth. I know this because of the 10"-12" trenching I needed to do for the sprinkler lines. The bottom line? Did they do a good job? This boils down to this question: Will I use them again? I definitely will never call these guys again for any work. The quality is not there. No mas. read more

I hired Goodman's Landscaping to install a paver patio near my pool. I am so happy with how the whole job went. I love love my paver patio. I looks so nice. The workers were great and cleaned up the entire area when they were done. I had designed a pattern and I was so thankful that one of the installers took the time to mock up my pattern and another pattern in a large area to show me how my pattern would not be the best use of the pavers. I am so glad that I hired experts to do the job. I would definately hire Goodman's again and have referred others to them. read more
