I strongly suggest coming here! They have an extensive menu that has something for everybody. My family all ordered different things and agreed that we had a good experience. I have a sweet tooth, and they had so many healthy options I knew I would enjoy. If you don't normally crave healthy foods, this is the best place for you. I was excited when looking at the menu, not disappointed (which is rare for me and health-based restaurants). The ambience is so uplifting and it's decorated so nicely! It seems that they are going for a West Coast vibe, and as a life long Californian resident, they nailed it! Just seeing the storefront and walking in improved my mood. I try to be very careful with reviews & not penalize a small business for my personal tastes. But I also rely on Yelp to give me honest reviews & I must do the same. My 1st time here, I'm glad I had a gift certificate, but still feel it was wasted. I have another location near my home, I will try that one in the future. I ordered the Buddha Bowl -a WARM bowl with no tomatoes due to a medical dietary restriction, but not an allergy (thankfully!) I posted my receipt to indicate I ordered "no tomatoes" yet you see from the picture I have a pile of tomatoes on my order. I took it back to my office and scooped them out. A small annoyance, but fine, this did not affect my star rating. Let's get to the actual bowl. I ordered a warm bowl for many specific reasons. The young lady gave me my bowl. It was wonderfully overstuffed to the point that you couldn't even get the lid on it. I'm thinking, "bonanza!" She offered me another lid to try, I wasn't able to carry it out because you could not snap the lid on. I said no worries, I will sit & take a few bites to eat it down so I can get the lid on. I took one bite of the chicken and it was ice cold, nearly frozen. Maybe my teeth are extra sensitive, but this was the coldest bite of chicken ever. Beyond refrigerator cold. I'm hammering home how cold this chicken was because I turned my neck to look up to make sure I ordered a WARM bowl! That was an instant turn off, I took the dressing out and I was able to get the lid to fit at that point. While I'm driving back to work, I call my wife to ask her if she would like to take this bowl and she laughed at me and said no thank you. (we work at the same place.) When I think I'm getting a warm bowl, for me that means warm protein. Even if I have a salad, I want my protein to be warm. I guess that's my very personal preference , but it was disappointing. It's not meeting the expectation. But that's STILL not even why I'm giving it three stars, lol. The reason why I'm giving it three stars?? The bowl was not good! I would never order this again or anything like it. The bowl is this very deep and heavy serving of riced cauliflower. Way too much cauliflower for the small amount of toppings. It's basically cauliflower and greens. The cauliflower was warm. But also 100% bland, as in not seasoned in ANY way. It's astonishing. As if shows like Chopped and TOP Chef don't exist where chefs are criticized about their lack of salt and lack of seasoning. This is why I'm giving it three stars. I cannot in good conscience overlook that this tastes like you're in the hospital and you're on a restricted diet. I don't understand who eats this food. Chickpeas out the container, avocado sliced out of its skin, tomatoes out the container, cucumbers out the crate, and cauliflower out its package. Then you assembled it and gave it to me. What am I paying for? What are you selling? Your ability to assemble? No salt or pepper, lemon juice, olive oil, seasonings, herbs, spices- you did not do anything to any ingredient! I had to get dressing from a colleague because even the balsamic vinaigrette that comes with was bland. I'm going on and on because I'm frustrated with establishments taking money for doing the absolute minimum. You're a restaurant, you need to actually do something to the food, or don't offer it. Stick to the fruit bowls! And I will try that with the remainder of my gift card balance. Now I have to figure out how to choke down this terrible bowl that was supposed to serve as my lunch and dinner. I'm just really aggravated. Very good acai bowls and extensive menu. Like the tartines as well and always fast excellent service. Skip the green bowl base if you're looking for taste as opposed to something just healthy. Wish they would offer an ORGANIC fruit option as I dont eat the Dirty Dozen ie strawberries, blueberries, etc. Would frequent more often if they did. A bit expensive but portions are large. Great little addition to the Villanova area! I've been there twice in the 6 days since they opened. My coworker/friend and I stopped in on one of our lunchtime walks to get some lunch. She had one of the smoothie bowls and something else that I don't recall, and I tried the chicken avocado toast and a smoothie. Everything was really good and made with good quality ingredients. We chatted a bit with the owner who seemed very noce and eager to do well in this location (they also have a place in Avalon). I stopped in again yesterday to introduce my daughter (VU '23) to the place. She got a smoothie bowl which she loved and I tried another smoothie. So far so good with Good ess Bowls. We got two açaí bowls and a salad...I forget which kind but it had chicken, quinoa and rice, goat cheese, and some fruit. Service was quick. We sat outside since it was a nice day, too. This place is ridiculous. We got three bowls and 3 cans of soda--no special add ons no subs. $68. Save your money and go someplace else.

The staff was friendly but the smoothies were not as expected. My husband and I ordered two different smoothies. Both of them taste like just banana, literally no other flavor at all. I'm sure they use barely any of the other fruits that are supposed to be in these smoothies and over use banana since they are cheap. Totally not worth the price and would never go back or recommend anyone bother. The coffee was also awful, super bitter. The that's my jam toast was also incredibly bland. read more
