Dave's Country Meats is a family-owned butcher shop that has served the community since 1981. It…read moresells custom-cut and smoked meats, cheeses and other dairy products, freshly baked breads, homemade sides, and much more. My husband and I shopped here once recently. We saw a nice assortment of beef, chicken, pork, turkey, kielbasa, bologna, burger patties, raviolis, vegetables, prepared salads, breads, pies, cookies, packaged grocery items (e.g., chips, nuts, and sauces), etcetera. We took a number to get in line for the deli meats. We chose a meatloaf, chicken salad, maple sausage links, and chicken patties. The total price was $30. The cashier promptly and politely rang up our purchase. We ate the foods at home. We thought that the foods tasted very good. Catering is also available.

The chicken is delicious and you can taste the difference in quality in the beef, pork and other meats. My favorite thing about Dave's is their willingness to cut a smaller portion for roasts and also if there is not a cut on display they offer to get what you request. The freezer wrapping is just the finishing touch on the reason Dave's shines when compared to other stores in the area. I am glad I have a wonderful butcher close to home that for as long as I can remember continues to provide the best meat. Thank you Dave's and the outstanding, friendly staff. 10 gold stars!

The sizing of meat is often a single item (e.g., one steak) - so it is a good place to stock up the freezer if you're cooking for one or two people. Relatively pricey - but also high quality.

Absolutely incredible meat! All meat is frozen, but it only took two hours in luke warm water to…read morethaw. I purchased Canadian bacon (amazing), eggs, merlot steak, chicken breast (have not yet tried but will report back). I was honestly apprehensive about the meat being frozen, but I believe that they are flash freezing at it's freshest because the meat was the best I've had in a very long time. Who knows how long the refrigerated has been sitting around anyway... I used to pass the actual farm in Renfrew all the time and always loved watching how happy their cows were, roaming around free range on very tidy pasture. You can absolutely taste the difference in their meat! Happy well taken care of cows = delicious beef. Period. Chelsea was in the shop and she was so helpful and kind. What they carry: Every cut of steak! From the ubiquitous rib eye to the obscure; merlot or Denver anyone? Canadian bacon Ground beef Meat sticks Various meat sausages Locally made Soap Seasonings BBQ sauce Honey Butter I believe there was milk as well (Memory fails me now but there was more!) I asked about future provisions and they do plan on expanding into produce which honestly would be incredible. **Potatoes keep SO well and go great with a steak ;) I hope that one day they will be a full fledged little market which I have always wanted in this area! We have so many incredible farmers here in Butler county! I wish them much success! One more thing... prices are fantastic!!

This was my first time ever stop being here in the winter. I was hoping they would've had more…read moresoups, but since it has been bitterly cold and it is winter, I'm guessing there's soups sell out quickly. In the summer, they usually have up to six different kinds of soup. Anyway, I did get some sourdough scones, and they do have great different varieties of sourdough bread here. There's always fresh vegetables and fruits that are in season. You can get lots of different types of frozen meats. Their pies are outstanding. There's all kinds of jellies and jams and jarred types of things. This farmers market is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. You can walk down the hill their parking lot and then eat at their farm to fork take-out kitchen located inside the Grist House Beer Crib.

Cute setup, lots of flowers on display outside - I wish I could have taken advantage of a BOGO deal. Local goodies available from a bakery, plus various popcorns, soaps and natural products in the back. The canned/pickled area was my favorite area, with a locally made chili crisp, chai maple syrup and creative sauces and salsas - including a dill pickle salsa! Will be looking up some of the brands to see if they do online ordering and shipping. Due to our travel limitations, our actual purchases were scant - but their blueberries were fresh and a good size for the $5 price, my daughter devoured them for the rest of the weekend. Local jerky was a protein packed snack option for the adults. Also snagged some cookies for dessert that really hit the spot. If your schedule allows, check out the restaurant next door - it's their affiliated "farm to fork" concept. Also note the grassy play area and swings if you have a toddler with excess energy to burn off.

Not sure why this cow stepped in his water bowl and peed just outside of it, but, hey, my family is still laughing about it.
