Got an opportunity to cruise on the Goodtime III as part of an evening get together organized by the Cleveland Clinic. . The price was subsidized to $25 per person due to that. First of all, the ship is huge and it almost feels like an overachiever while cruising though the narrow channels with smaller boats on all sides. You will be witness to some wonderful pieces of architecture in the form of bridges - at least 10 of them, as the ship cruises under them. Some are railroad bridges which lift way up , one that rotates on a huge geared platform and a couple that hinges on one side and lifts the other end to almost vertical. Really cool! We went for the evening cruise and we saw a beautiful sunset. .The food on board was average..pasta, chicken, lasagna and desert..A free raffle ticket and 2 free drink coupons (can get you 2 tinned beers). It can get chilly towards the later part of the evening, and a jacket could come in handy. Overall a fun experience and well worth the money spent! read more

We took a dinner cruise on the Goodtime III in 6/2012 and it was for a XMas party and we had buffet dinner. There was enough food for the 30 people in the group. IThe buffet might have been special for our group. We were on the Goodtime III 4th of July 2011 and we did not have a good view of the fireworks and the boat kept turning. The music was good for dancing. Food was available for purchase mostly snacks and I don't remember if Alcoholic drinks or beer were available for purchase. What a treat being on this river cruise. 2 hours on the ship that takes you places you can't go by car....for $17. Where else you can take a boat ride for this price. Just get on the boat and have fun! read more

This was such a fun activity on a Friday evening. Myself and three friends went on the Rush Hour cruise. They pressured me into going. I assumed I would be dropping a lot of money on a two hour excursion. I could not have been more wrong! It very easy to find street parking in front of the rock hall/ Browns stadium. It's a bit of a walk, but who doesn't need some cardio. Tickets are $15 a head and drinks are around $3 a beer. I had an absolute blast looking and great scenario on a perfect weather evening for less than $30. The one downside is the lines for the bars are quite long. I recommend getting 2 drinks at a time. I would certainly go again! read more

I wanted to give an update. We ended up going on the lunch cruise last year...and the birthday girl LOVED it. We all ended up having a really good time and the history lesson was very interesting. The birthday girl loved it so much, she requested to go on the cruise again this year...and once again, we all had a really good time. read more

We planned my father in law's 90th birthday party on the goodtime III. Each time I spoke with the office I informed them that my sister and I needed to be GF. Each time I was assured that there were GF options for us. Going thru the buffet line we found out those options were green beans, plain mashed potatoes and a small side salad. Everyone else got that, gravy, and chicken and beef plus dessert. They had plenty of time to alert the caterers. This was a 3 hour luncheon tour--no lunch for us. Booked the Saturday night dinner & city lights cruise on July 27. My husband & I were celebrating our 26th annv. Boarding was fast as well as seating. Very disappointed with the food. Main course buffet was cold even though we were the first table served. Can't really call the salad a salad with only 4 ingredients but it was fresh. Cheesecake with strawberry, excellent. Drinks way overpriced. It was a little weird when we docked after dinner & the night guests boarded. All of them were frisked before they boarded. Not that we had a problem with it but if your going to do that, why not do that for everyone? The staff were very polite & helpful but as the night wore on, some became annoyed & didn't care about cleanliness. 2nd deck was full of spilled drinks & your shoes stuck to the floor. Cups & bottles everywhere. Justin the bartender did double duty. Total rock star! The captain as well! Never seen a driver or boat dock so semless. All on all it was the perfect sunset & a great ride. The last thought I'll say.. if your paying $127 for the dinner cruise & City lights cruise.. parking should be included. $13.00 was a rip off read more

It was fine. We sat on the 2nd deck, in the middle and couldn't hear the loudspeaker. So many kids in camps that were really loud. Also, before the boat even left the dock, we ordered water bottles and they were out. We had not even left yet!!! So tap water for everyone. Gross. read more

A must do if you are looking to have a good time in Cleveland! My friends and I were outside of the RNR Hall of Fame admiring the view of Lake Erie. We see this boat filled with people enjoying themselves. I honestly thought it was private party that we weren't invited to? Lol.. Anyway we ask someone what is going on on the boat and they explain the boat goes through Lake Erie and up and down the river which makes it about a 2 1/2 ride. While on the boat you can enjoy beverages and a dj and dance floor. We were sort of hesitant to do it since it's was a spur of the moment kind of thing but ended up doing it anyway. Little did we know we were in for a surprise?! First we start out enjoying eachother's company lounging around drinking our beverages. Then we start to walk around and explore the rest of the boat, taking pictures of the awesome views of the Cleveland skyline. Finally we made it to the dance floor where our group of friends started to get knuck! And yes I mean knuck! Haha, we were having a good time dancing and drinking and representing our home Vegas! Because who other than us knows how to par-tay. I honestly felt like we were trying to be the life of dance floor. But the others around us were pretty out going and having a good time as well. The crowd there was mixed, from old to young- you name it! Finally they do a game a limbo for anyone who wants to participate and of course a prize given to the winner. On the up side I think all participants were given a free drink once he or she was eliminated. This is an experience in itself and definitely worth the entrance fee of $15! I don't know many places where you can do something like this, so I highly recommend it! To top it off the drinks were reasonably priced. read more

Did the dinner cruise last night and it was an ok time. Food was mediocre buffet food but we waited an extremely long time - time that would have been better spent on the decks above enjoying the breeze. IF YOU ARE PLATING THE FOOD, WHY NOT MAKE IT A SIT DOWN DINNER? Dessert was passed out in record time - prior to many customers in our section of the boat finishing their meals (so much more efficient). I agree with another review that the Cabernet sauce was liquid salt ruining the roast beef. It was a hot day but I had to search for a glass of water. A pitcher and some glasses on the table would alleviate this issue and prevent some of the traffic jam around the bar area. Since it was an evening cruise half the time the sun was in your face while you were waiting/trying to eat. Adjustable screens on the lower level windows would be very helpful! From what I read, I am lucky we did not go down the river, just back and forth along the break wall. After dinner the views and upper decks were quiet enjoyable until we docked to fill up with more passengers for the dj. We were planning to stay but they were crowding the ship to capacity and I'm not a fan of big crowds so we left. The line for the bar was flowing back to the tables, the line to get up/down stairs was not quite as bad, the line for the restrooms didn't look like it was moving. It looked like a couple hundred people were waiting in line when we first docked and there was still a huge crowd when we decided to exit. I'm sure it was a great time but not my thing. So, I would do it again, but skip the meal and spend an afternoon. read more

My family and I (four of us), took this tour in June on a Saturday at 3 pm as a Father's Day gift! It was the perfect Cleveland day and traffic was apparently bad on the Cuyahoga River ... I, being the one who booked the trip, didn't know that river traffic would affect any part of our day! It unfortunately did and our tour was not able to make it down the river at all. Following the tour I emailed Captain Rick to let him know how bummed we were and he got back to me right away, called me personally on my cell phone and apologized. We talked on the phone, I told him what happened and he was BEYOND understanding! He went above the expectations I had of him and offered that we return for one more tour on him. I was blown away that he was willing to give us another chance to travel the river! I will suggest this to any person who loves Cleveland like we do ... The customer service alone.
