Updating my reivew from 2018…read more.. I've been coming to Dekalb Animal Hospital since I adopted my furbaby Mocha in 2018. I used to live in Tucker, and they were super convenient drive...and even though I've since moved to Atlanta and now it takes me 45 minutes to get there...it's worth it! I LOVE the 5-star service the vets and staff provide --- always friendly, answers your questions, medication prescription updates, keeps you informed on shots/etc (they will email, call and send postcard reminders) and treats my stubborn dog well! They know his protective/biter personality and we've had many many visits here...it's rare to find a place that you can feel comfortable leaving your dog here for any procedure/shots/dental surgery/grooming etc. The place is clean and nicely decorated for any pet owner (dog or cat). Their parking lot is large enough to accommodate multiple customers, never had an issue. Plus, it's right next to a Dunkin Donuts...so while you're waiting or dropping off your pet, you can grab some food! Also outside is a bench to sit at, a nice koi pond and space to walk your dog around to do their business. Wonderful A+ recommend!

The doctor and vet assistant were extremely professional and worked well with my very anxious 60lb…read moredog. They were efficient and we appreciated getting in and out pretty quickly. Prices were reasonable too. Only complaint was they charge 3% for using a debit or credit card. I understand the need to pass on the cost of doing business to the customers but said, as a new client, if they had told me over the phone when I was making the appointment, I would have brought my checkbook to avoid the surcharge. The office assistant just said we have signs all over the office. Yes, I see that but if you had explained your policy before I got there, I could have saved some money.

Upon arriving with my fur baby, we were greeted by the very sweet young woman at the counter. Even when my baby had a nervous accident the other young lady jumped in to clean it up, and told me it was okay when I apologized. Dr. Wilson has a very friendly bedside (if you can say that for dogs haha) manner, and took her time with my baby. She gave great recommendations and was very thorough. Her prices are very reasonable and she is a nice lady with an equally nice staff.

My husband took our dog Pork Chop last Friday because he wasn't feeling well and was given…read morepropectalin and died the next day. He was diagnosed and treated at this facility and my husband spent almost $200 just for him to die. Nobody informed him death was a possibility and made it appear it was just a simple worm detox. If the veterinarian felt his diagnosis and medication could be fatal she should have said something or at least advised to keep my Dog in a clinic overnight. He was throwing up, pooping blood and he only had a few doses of his medication. I understand some medications can be stronger than others and my dog was still a puppy it breaks my heart he is dead. I have called and left two voicemails during the hours listed on Google but have received no call back regarding my dog. Me and my husband are devastated we loved our dog so much. I called regarding the condition of my dog after visiting and requested a reimbursement for the fatal medications so I can at least afford a funeral or cremation service for my beloved dog. I can't bring my dead dog back but I would really appreciate it if my veterinarian Coreen or someone else from the team can listen to one of my voicemails and call me back so I can give my beloved Pork Chop the proper goodbye... PSA: anybody pet owners reading this if your pet is diagnosed with any type of worms please do your own research on the medications and I would advise to keep them overnight somewhere if possible my dog died as a result of prescribed worm medication. Again I know I can't bring my beloved Pork Chop back but I really really need someone to call me back I want to at least be able to afford a decent burial or cremation service. My husband spent a lot of money on medicine that killed my dog and now we have to try and find a way to afford a proper burial. I was hoping someone would reach out after my first initial call and voicemail but nothing. I wrapped my poor baby Pork Chop in a blanket and bags and have been trying to reach this facility to at least receive condolences or a way to give my dog a burial but due to no response I am most likely going to have to call a nearby animal control to take his body.... Please please somebody message me or call me back as soon as possible! I didn't want to leave a poor review but my husband spend almost $200 for my dog to die from the prescription medication, no call back after informing the facility and now I have to mentally recover from loosing my baby and try to find a way to afford a proper send off because me and my husband spent our savings hoping to heal him. Just heartbreaking... I hope somebody has the decency to reach out to me me and my husband are devastated.

In my opinion, prices are definitely on par with other vets and worth it for the services you're receiving (you can't really put a price on your dogs health). While I've noticed they definitely try to steer you towards Zoetis brand products vs. competitors for things like flea & heartworm preventatives, they're not pushy when it comes to selling products or treatments. I'm super glad they opened up a second location at Madison Yards. My dog, Maisy, loves her trips to Common Companion.

I wanted to update the review to say that I never received a response from Common Companion after I sent them a letter. They completely cut off communication so their review response on google is just faning sympathy in the public eye. Furthermore after 7 months of vigorous rehab, Silvio never regained mobility. We were faced with the hard decision to consider quality of life. His injuries were far too great to overcome and we were forced to say goodbye to him in September. This experience has been a nightmare. Please be careful when making a decision to let a vet sedate your dog. Not all vets and or techs are qualified to care of your dog when sedated.

I've never encountered a bad veterinarian in Atlanta only poor support staff who don't realize they work at a hospital not a restaurant where they are taking reservations. I'm sure the doctor here is incredibly good as they were recommended but your support staff needs training and some professionalism. They also performed additional exams without my consent. I did my own research and confirmed he had already completed his series, but they still tried to schedule more boosters. Pet parents deserve transparency -- this clinic did not provide it. I must add that they are super friendly & will show your animal an abundance of love but at the cost of your wallet.

After searching the local vets we decided upon EA Animal Clinic and we are very happy. Our other 2 vets did not see a problem that our 7 year old pug was having and misdiagnosed her (they have been good vets so this is not a blemish on them) so we brought her here and they immediately found the issues. Unfortunately they had to refer us to another facility for a procedure but we feel very comfortable with this vet and staff and will continue to come to them with all of our pets. The staff is very caring, courteous, professional and obviously want the best for their furry clients. 100% recommend.

Tried to charge me over 2k for them just to check out my dog, not even treat him. I took him somewhere else and they quoted me 500 for EVERYTHING. I'm never coming back here. They take the dogs in the back so you can't see what they do to them. Also sketchy. How knows how rough they are in the back.
