This Goodwill had some really cute, like new things. It is two stories. The bottom has some furniture, books, dvds, etc. whereas the main level has clothes, shoes, dishes. This Goodwill has their clothes not only sorted by size but separated by colors, which was so much easier when you have something specific in mind. It was clean and the staff were kind. DO NOT GO HERE!! Let me start by saying that I have been a loyal customer who has supported Goodwill for over 10 years. I love what the company stands for, and I regularly shop there. I purchased a large mirror from this store earlier this month. Upon bringing it home, I was very happy with my purchase, but when I removed the price sticker a couple weeks later to hang it on the wall, I realized that someone had purposely hidden a very dark spot in the middle of the mirror that was not removable or any way fixable. I called the store to see if I could get a refund, but the manager there told me that they do not accept refunds, and that everything in the store is sold "as is." The purpose of an "as is" sale involves the customer knowing exactly what is wrong with the item, or at least is given a fair chance to know what they are purchasing. This was done on purpose to cheat someone into buying an item that was not represented with integrity. I know how policies go, so I then asked if I could get store credit. They essentially would be keeping my money, I could get something without being lied to, and they could sell the mirror to someone else with good intention. But the manager then argued in the rudest way that they only accept exchanges with shoes, clothing, and electronics, and that they don't even accept any type of return or exchange with furniture. To me, a mirror is not a piece of furniture. When was the last time you pulled up a nice mirror and had a seat..? Or stored your clothes in it? Or perhaps I should be using it as a desk to write this review right now. He also said, "well especially if it's broken, we can't take it back." It is in the same exact condition as it was when it left the store. What was I supposed to do? Take the price sticker off of everything before I purchased it, so that I know that I'm not being lied to about what I was buying? It's very upsetting that a company that does so much good for the community would have business practices like these. I am completely aware that not everything you get at a thrift store is in pristine condition, but don't trick your customers like that. Don't waste your money at this store. And next time you're at Goodwill, think twice about what it is you're buying. read more

I am puzzled by this store. Goodwill has a great mission. Why is it not giving its checkout staff BETTER TRAINING - so they can be prepared for the job market elsewhere too? And - the long slow checkout line (both times) disrespects the time of the customers shopping there. Been there twice. Trip 1: Bought several nice items. Trip 2: Came back to TRY to return an expensive item because I noticed after buying it that the cashier did NOT take off 50% discount boldly advertised that day on a sign at the front door. (for all clothing & shoes). I gave up the return - because on a Sat @ 3 p.m. there was 1 cashier & 30 ppl standing quietly on the checkout line. At least a 30 minute wait. GOOD NEWS: The clothes, etc on ground level are WELL organized & nicely priced. Much effort clearly goes into organizing the merchandise by someone with retail experience.. VERY BAD NEWS: Staff that works the register is not well trained - so (a) the checkout line moves very slowly. Management does not put enough people at the single checkout to move people through; (b) The cashier makes mistakes - Example - Did NOT take off 50 percent discount on my item when ringing it up. read more

On days when you have enough patience and energy to sift through racks upon racks... you'll find J.Crew and Banana Republic blazers/tanks/dresses. The shoe section wasn't nearly as exciting, but if you're looking for clothes to get you through the work week without hashing out tons of cash -- you won't be disappointed! read more

So first up - parking isn't great. But if you can find a spot, you're fine. Other than that, it's a pretty good Goodwill. I've found some great finds here - you just have to be willing to dig. They've started tagging clothing so that you can identify sizes better but it still takes a lot of patience. Take a few hours and go! read more

This is my favorite goodwill in the DC area. The store is very large and always has quality stuff. I found some great deals here after I moved to the area after college -- including a dresser, chair, clothes, and artwork. It's a great place to go to for affordable, quality items -- especially if you're building your first home! Not to mention I can always support the industries mission. Great cause! read more

I stopped by this location again, it's getting to the point where I only go now on Tuesday's so save the additional 25%. Today I found a great wood base lamp for 10.95, h&m top, Three mini ikea mirrors and purple banana republic top -all great finds! I think the secret is out about this location, it was packed! Great place to go when you have extra time to browse! Don't get me wrong, some of the pricing is wacky! I have clearly seen items that still have price tags from other stores and then Goodwill's price is much higher! Now that's a little backwards to me, someone donated it, it should be less! This is one of the nicest goodwills I've ever been too. Wow! It's a pretty small store but it's packed full with good finds. Also, it's within walking distance from my apartment complex! I'm a fan! This book has an extensive book selection that is categorized by genre. Usually when you go into a thrift store, the books are just piled on a single bookshelf. Not here. Also, the clothing selection has a plethora of nice items! Tons of Banana Republic, J Crew, and plenty of other designer labels here at Goodwill prices. Love it! read more

FANTASTIC! Great deals. IDK why all the good stuff is at this Goodwill, but it is. The summer tops are quite as good as the winter tops, and they don't have many Boyd's Bears, but that's okay. I still love it here. I go here pretty much every weekend. read more

I love this Goodwill store! 9 out of 10 times I find something functional, or beautiful here. All the staff are friendly and helpful. I'm still looking for a safari-ish jacket but have practically finished furnishing & decorating my new apt. home with Goodwill finds. They even can refer you to a delivery person if needed. read more

The Goodwill at 2714 Columbia Pike , Arlington, VA, has a heart. My granddaughter is moving into a new job and needed to furnish a room. She bought a futon frame and some other items--including a dresser for her baby, and arranged to have it moved. However, she became ill and could not get back within the 48 hours Goodwill will hold it on the floor, before it goes back on sale. When we first explained the circumstance to the team, there was hesitation, but they gave her until the next Saturday to pick it up. She was still ill, but Goodwill showed the moving man the items that were hers, and without her there, the items were safely gathered and moved to the new location. It took a team with heart to make this happen, and she is grateful she didn't lose the items she had bought. As her grandmother, I am glad to pass on the good news. I love this location for the wide selection of books, dvds and other medias at fantastic prices. An amazing turnover pace so each time you go in you are bound to find something in this section. Conditions of the books are mostly great, you do find a few that have been well used but for the price its fine :) Parking is limited but I usually find a spot alright. read more

Wow just wow. This price is so overpriced it's ridiculous when was the last time anyone stepped foot into a real store? They're selling beat up USED shoes for $25 a piece you can get new cheap shoes at payless for less. They are selling those free cosmetic bags you get with purchase for $8 a PIECE they have a few hundred of them since no one is buying them at that price. The have the same ties for YEARS since they are so old, dirty and expensive. This place has some super over priced junk! When we finally found a DVD set we wanted to buy we brought the case upstairs where they keep the dvds in binders behind the counter so CUSTOMERS dont steal them only to find out they were not in the binders because apprently the employees STOLE 4 dvds that where a set. I think they should be more worried about internal theft then external. There was a rude employees that kept walking by and "bumping" us and then when we asked what the price was on something he mumbled took it to the back and left it there then came back out without it and starting working again like we weren't there. I always find the best clothes and or housewares at this location. Last week I got a pair of Citizens jeans for $5 and a brand new pair of J Crew skinny pants, from Fall 2010, for $5! I love this goodwill and i always find something great to buy. But, that manager, Margarete, or something like that is very rude. I saw her screaming at a man one day when he went to buy shoes saying stuff like, ' oh, hell no, these are nikes my son buys these I'm charging you 50 bucks I can get at least that off these shoes'. She did this very loudly and what i felt was degrading to the man. I have seen her do this several times. It is GOODWILL! We are doing a good deed by donating and buying which in turn gives people a job. Jeez! I felt bad for the guy. read more

I visit Goodwill often. and had purchased many good items from here which are very good and I appreciate well organized store. I would like to suggest to have a donation box available at your store. People can place spare change which they have into the box. Over time, little donations can grow into a substantial amount that can be given to your chosen charitable organization.I am a visitor and during my stay here I had some dime, cents quarter which I carried with me to store but cashier refused to accept. regards. read more
