I gave this specific Goodwill location 5 stars overall for a super organized store and friendly staff. Unfortunately, I would give it only 3 stars for the small book collection. Didn't even know this Goodwill was here. I came to pick up my kid at Off The Wall next door and I stopped here to see what books they might have. I was disappointed when I saw all their books fit on a 6-foot folding table. Usually at the thrift stores I've been to, they have several bookcases of books. It's all good because I found a Ruth Ware book that is on my TBR list. For only $1. I'm currently reading The It Girl by the same author. Hopefully they will build up their book selections. Other than that, they had an abundance of everything else. Kudos on such a clean and organized store all in all. read more

One of the largest Goodwill Stores that I have encountered. This Davie Ridge Plaza location is next to the Paragon Theatres and open on Sundays with an easy drop off donation area on the exterior west side of the store. I was very surprised and elated by the vast selection of clothing, purses, home goods and shoes. The most surprising item in the entire store was the toilet paper - I did not check the pricing but they were tiny rolls. The active wear rack was priced well at $6.00 and up. Beautiful section of glassware, and even mattresses, wheelchairs, rugs and bicycles. Dressing rooms available too. This week was the color red at a 50% off sale on selected items. Goodwill was founded in 1902 by Boston Minister, Reverend Edgar J. Helms. He took donations from wealthy Bostonians and hired people who were poor and who could fix the items. The items were then given to the people who worked on them or were resold. Goodwill's philosophy is "a hand up, not a hand out". Today Goodwill has become a $5 billion nonprofit organization that provides job training, employment, and community programs for people who have disabilities that might prevent them from getting a job on their own. They provide low cost items to people who might not otherwise be able to afford them and they help the environment by repurposing items and keeping them out of the landfill. This Goodwill is located in a nondescript shopping plaza along 595 in Davie. As soon as I walked in to the store I was hilt with that Goodwill smell. I don't think I can describe it. Slightly musty? I don't find it unpleasant but it's definitely distinctive. This is an older looking Goodwill. It isn't a boutique, superstore, or an outlet. Things were arranged neatly and by color. They had a small furniture section and a ton of clothes. They had a section of new items near the checkout. I can't think of anything that makes this store stand out. I browsed but nothing called out to me. I do appreciate that Goodwill is open on Sundays unlike many other thrift stores. read more

I have a best luck at this Goodwill!! Almost every single time I come here I'll get at least one pair of heels or shoes of some sort. I always look for the designer names and have had great success!! The store is also usually quite tidy compared to other Goodwill's! read more

I was gifted a victrola for Christmas, and needing LPs, I've been on the hunt for oldies music at local thrift stores. This was my first visit to this area store and I was immediately helped by not one, but two store associates. Reason being, the first one was too young to know what an LP was when I asked if they carried them. So the other overheard and took us both to the back of the store to show us. ;) There was a good selection to rummage through and at $1.00, I was dancing through the aisles! Speaking of, this store follows suit with the others in that everything is clean, in order and the customer service is excellent. With so many great gently used products to choose from, I not only found my LPs, but I picked up a couple of other treasures too! read more

So I came here to look for a white dress. I didn't want to shop at regular department store because I knew I would never wear again and didn't want to spend a bunch on it. With that said, I found the perfect white dress for $5! It couldn't have been a better shopping experience. The store itself was clean and well organized. The staff was super nice and very helpful. The only thing negative thing I would have to say was that they didn't have any bags to put your clothes in. The cashier informed me that they hadn't had bags since December and it would be another 6 months before they got any. That was kind of strange to me. read more

The store is impeccably clean and always orderly...but the air conditioning is HORRIBLE. It is incredible that management can not get this fixed because it's so uncomfortable to shop in the heat. The employees are very helpful and friendly (considering they are forced to work in the hot unventilated store). Someone should report them to Osha. read more

I've been here twice and both times I went in and pretty much came right back out. I've been to a few different locations and this is by far my least favorite. It has a terrible smell and the home goods area things just seem like they're thrown around there. I didn't even find it worth it to look around for a while. Today I went and dropped off 6 big bags to donate. I went around back to the donation door and I said hello wondering if she would tell me where to put my things or come over to offer and help. But no, she just sort of made an acknowledgement noise and I asked if I should just drop them off to the side and she said yes. Not that I need any help but it would have been good service to offer so I lugged them all over. She did say thank you and I left. Just overall not a great location here. If it's possible, I might try and go to another location and see if you have a better experience. read more

Went in to grab a towel and a dress shirt. No mirrors, fitting room doors barely closed, staff opened a new register for me to not have to wait and then ended up waiting longer while other people got checked out because the register they opened wasn't working. Told me I couldn't keep the hangers and didn't even have bags. Worst experience and worst goodwill I've ever been to. Don't waste your time with this store. read more

I was at YYA and driving back home when I saw this store. I like to stop in places like this when I am looking for pieces for costumes. I am working on a couple so I thought to come in and check. The store its pretty big, racks are organized by color and article of clothing. They had a lot of knick knacks, but they looked a little shabby and some not at all usable. I looked through the cocktail dresses rack and some of the prices were very high considering this is old worn out clothes. They have a "Designer' section, but I wouldn't classify Express or Banana Republic as designer. I didn't find anything for my costumes, but I did find a beautiful beaded clutch for $5 so all was not lost. read more

This Goodwill is hit or miss for me. I'm mainly looking for plus size clothing, a better/bridge handbag, possibly a cute shoe. One day, I can find lightly used or brand new. The next, the item is falling apart at the seams. Staff is nice, however, and there's never a long wait for check out. AVOID THIS LOCATION FOR DONATION! Came all the way from Weston to donate toys, furniture and clothing. A light drizzle fell on my way and the woman in the receiving dock said they wouldn't take the goods, without even looking at the things ** I wanted to give them for free **. I then asked to be allowed to throw them away and right away told me the dumpster was closed, She was eager to see us leave. Again, I was there to give things. It is not the first time I face this lack of politeness, very typical of people trying to hide their ineptitude. I recommend you take the time to look for another outfit that truly appreciate the fact that we are donating. This store is very familiar to me. I have been going to stores like these for over forty years. I know what i'm talking about simply by all that experience. What I have to say about its conditon as of 6/21/15 is primarily about the Mens Clothing area. If Mens is like this, it would seem so is the rest of it. Only a guess on my part. The overall quality of neatness, how things are sorted, and simple care of how things are hung has dropped off considerably. Previous Managers of this store up until several months ago did it correctly. No problem finding your size, color, etc It was easy for the patron. No longer. It's a job just to find any article of clothing. Just a mixed mess apperently by color group or something with size tags in a complete disorder.. The only thing that is in order is type of clothing, that's about it. Previously items were sorted by size group and within that by color and shade of color. Once things have been sorted this way it can be very, very simple to keep it that way. Also, note that many other Goodwill Stores in Broward have no problem doing it that way. The Salvation Army Stores do it also and are not charging SalesTax. It simply defeats anyone by shear time element attempting to find what they're in need of. Today I simply walked out without purchasing anything after a short time attempting to sort my way through the disarray. Also note that this store is in Davie, near Weston, Plantation and Sunrise. It is not in Miami. Music playing is pretty much Spanish speaking music stations all the time. Nothing wrong with the music as it is eclectic, I happen to like what's played, but it doesn't reflect the area it's located in. It appears it is for the entertainment of the staff and not the general area customers. Noting a previous Review of 8/17/2014. I would still agree. Items are well arranged and donations are easy and fast. But this afternoon as two of the lady employees were leaving the gentleman at the cashier asked them to open their purses, totally stuck his nose in both and then also asked them to open the inner zipper of the purse. How very embarrassing, especially because it was done in front of customers. Incredible. read more

I don't buy here but give them everything I have to donate. I used the donation drop off in the rear and brought in a couple of armfuls of dresses and other woman's clothing. They just took it and threw it in a pile in the corner. They didn't seem that grateful. Next time I brought in a new wedding dress and veil but decided to bring it in the front to avoid the pile. A man, who I believe was the manager took it from and and lectured me about going in the front door and next time I should take it around back. I'm giving a new $400.00 wedding dress and getting lectured in return. From now on everything goes to Salvation Army. read more

I am not one to leave a bad review about people but this was the worst experience ever! I came on a Friday carrying my 2 month old on my baby carrier I decided to visit the store for the first time. Grabbed a few items but I couldn't try anything on since my baby was sleeping on the carrier (hanging from my chest) purchased 50+ in items. I asked the cashier if I could return items that didn't fit me she said yes within 7 days as long as you have the little plastic colored tags you get your money back. This is the first time I visit a goodwill store so I don't know any policies or anything other than what the lady told me. So I go home tried things on before I wash them and some of them didn't fit me. Next day I visit the store I asked one lady how could I return, she looked at me as if I was crazy, then she called this "Supervisor" her name is "Nadia" who came to me with the worst attitude stating I couldn't return as I was trying to explain to her what the cashier had told me yesterday she just wasn't listening kept just tossing my return matching it against my receipt ignoring me. Then she said I can only give you store credit I said "that's fine I will keep coming" but you should instruct the cashier who told me that yesterday what the policy is instead of saying something inaccurate she said "that's the policy" etc complete upset and very arrogant. She left saying she was getting my store credit, then came back storming with the papers asking me to fill out the form I did and then I said thank you she didn't answer and stormed back to her break. Horrible customer service! Would never come to this store JUST because of this bad experience. read more

Pretty much the average smaller goodwill. The reason for the 3 star rating is because I saw several things marked wayyyy up in here. $35 for true religion jeans. Alright man. This is a thrift store not a boutique. A lot of jackets are up in price too. No one comes to the thrift store to pay $35 for worn jeans I'm just saying. A lot of the other prices are great! She grilled her and gave her the 3rd degree as if she bought from another place to the point of insult. Come 'on people. The lady had her receipt. She puts her own prices at the register. Don't waste your time. I've donated 50k worth of clothing and household goods. I can tell you 100% that none of the good stuff ever hits the floor. I don't know if they're selling it online or keeping it for themselves but if you're going there looking for anything to make a dollar on your simply wasting your time. Most of the clothes are overpriced and complete junk. The jewelry is all garbage. And I throw away better household items then they're trying to sell. The funny thing is the pricing. Apparently the manager sets the pricing for all the items. I just look at a fake Louis Vuitton pocketbook ripped and stained price $25. Silver cufflinks for $10. Glass bowl with silver plated rim for $10. These are all items that they've priced literally 10 times more than you can find them for at garage sale. I'm not going back anymore. It's complete waste of time. And I'm going to find somewhere else to donate my items read more

Never found a thrift store that was more unwilling to accept donations than this one. Even when they do accept donations they are unhelpful and cantankerous. You're better off giving your donations somewhere else. read more
