They have no changing rooms. Apparently, their policy is to make you buy clothes, try them on at home, then return the things that don't fit... *for store credit.* So, basically, fashion roulette. What a scam! I mean, did you actually want to sell those racks and racks of clothes? While I love recycling, and believe in charitable donations, I won't be donating to Goodwill as long as I live in Indy. I'd like the things I donate to be purchased, so that the money can go to the charitable cause. So! I will find a different grungy, musty, fluorescent-lit warehouse to purchase recycled clothes from -- and to donate my clothes to. read more

I went this morning and it is INSANELY DUSTY! The clothes on racks had so much dust on them which is a heath hazard for sure in the store. I will not be returning ever again and will probably contact corporate because this is so bad. It's literally on everything. read more

Complete garbage with a price tag. I despise this place because everything is so overpriced. I feel like everything in the store has been picked over like 15 times. Everything else left is complete junk! The CDs are just awful. All of the music is like 50 years old. There has to be somebody taking all of the good stuff before it hits the sales floor. I've seen cooking appliances with food on them. I've even seen a used food roller. For this place running on donations, it is extremely overpriced. I would recommend people stop supporting this garbage company. read more

The staff at the donation doors is always pleasant. Inside, I'd say it's about 75% clothing, 25% housewares, etc.

Not my favorite Goodwill location because it feels smaller and not as clean but you can find some good thrifted items here! It is the closest location to me so I do come here when I need to thrift. read more

My mother loves to browse and shop at Goodwill stores anytime we're near one she likes to go in a look around for a bargain on something she may or may not even need, haha. This store was similar to the others, clean, decently organized, and has a friendly and helpful staff. The shelves are kept looking nice as best as they can be. They have everything from VHS tapes, books, purses, shoes, clothes for the entire family, furniture, couches, tables, old tube TV's, stuffed animals, toys, kitchen wares, knick knacks, and more. It's like a flea market and a yard sale all in one, haha. If you're on a tight budget or just like to buy gently used items at very low cost, then go to Goodwill and search their products. Plenty of easy parking here, and they are located off a very busy intersection behind a small strip mall. For even better savings look for color coded weekly specials and 50% off on certain days each month, such as first Sat of the month. read more

They sometimes have good stuff but today was an awful experience. It seems people my own age have no sense of decency because the workers there were talking poorly of their own costumers. Saying "this is my job to do this, but I shouldn't have to" basically. Talking crap about how people are stupid and don't know how to put things back on hangers. Don't work here then? Why does every Goodwill smell like a shoe closet? I know I know, still funky thank God for washing machines. Place is pretty big, I usually look for disposable jeans I can wear working around the house or other activities. Couldn't find what I was looking for how hard is it to have a 32 waist? Obviously pretty difficult in Indiana, this is the 3rd location looking for jeans, just going to break down and buy some instead of driving around. Place looked ok to me, nothing caught my eye outside of what I was looking for. I'd hit this location up again in the future to see if anythings changed. read more

I found some good stuff here. A lot of things are overpriced especially for it being donated. My 3 star dock is due to my cashier who I am assuming is the manager. Someone (probably an employee) put a tag with a 3.99 sticker through a pair of boots I wanted to purchase. I assumed it was a mistake & paid the normal 6.99 for boots. Cashier notices the tag & immediately gets an attitude with me "that's not right" in an accusing tone like I had access to the machine that tags items??? She proceeds to RIP out the tag aggressive as hell and left a noticeable hole in the side of the boot. I didn't say anything because what would it have done besides cause an argument or half ass apology. I won't be returning here. Don't handle merchandise already purchased so carelessly next time. read more

If you like what you find at Target, you should like Goodwill too. The location at Southport & Emerson typically has some great finds of overstocked merchandise from Target. Kudos to Target for helping out a charity on such a regular basis! If you go on the right day, you can find racks full of brand-new Target items for a fraction of the price... clothing, shoes, housewares, etc. My boyfriend and I stopped in this location earlier this week to see if we could find a finishing touch for his Halloween costume. Unfortunately, we did not (come to think of it, he did end up finding it at Target though, so I guess we were on the right track!). However, I did pick up several pairs of brand new argyle socks at just 99 cents a piece. If you are a person who is a little weary of thrift stores because you feel weird wearing clothes that used to belong to other people, you might want to reconsider checking out Goodwill for their selection of brand-new merchandise. The only bad thing I have to say about Goodwill is that the people working there are sometimes a little off... perhaps because they are fulfilling their community service hours. On my most recent trip, the cashier was in a total daze and acted like she didn't even know we were standing right in front of her. Oh well, it won't deter me from returning to find more cheap stuff! Twice I have been here and the manager has been atrocious. First visit she had an interview going on and told me to wait 15 min to do a return, ok I'll do that ....I shopped in the store. she came back, quickly did my return but I had also picked up things to buy, so I could just exchange, but after the return, she just vanished, brushing off the purchase to someone else, I had heavy store items too. so I had to move registers. seemed uncalled for, when it would have taken all but 2 min to finish ringing me out. but it wasn't that visit that perturbed me the most. second visit, I brought in 2 receipts, one from fishers and one from Nora Indiana. I had shopped there 11/22 and attempted to return 11/26. I had a few things to return that I found holes in, and one mens dress shirt. all still with tags. She returned the two items but refused to work with me on the mens shirt with tags still attached. "its not on this receipt' I tried to explain the fishers goodwill easily could have coded it wrong but she didn't accept any of my responses. whatever happened to the customer is always right? like I have a goodwill shirt just laying around with tags ...unaltered? Ok. oh well, live and learn, I decided today, unless she's gone, I'm not shopping at the Emerson goodwill. She takes a million smoke breaks which by the way should be 8 ft from the door and she stands there as customers come in.... read more

I've been to almost every Central Indy location, and this is one of my favorites. I almost always find clothes I like, and sometimes household items and other fun things. The lines on Saturday mornings when it's half off (first Saturday of the month) wrap throughout the store and can take 30 minutes to get through. This one seems to have a lot of Target "overflow." read more

I like this store, is reasonably priced on furniture as opposed to Some of the other goodwills close by. Staff is definitey more friendly than the one on 31, and they dont "boutique" every thing name brand like counterparts. read more

I love thrift stores. This particular Goodwill is a frequent stop for me while I'm on that side of town. Goodwill's have a lot of Target overflow, so make sure to check out the "junk section" as I like to call it. When shopping for clothes at any thrift, be patient. Aimless searching can take hours, know what you are looking for before you arrive. Perhaps you need a red long sleeved shirt, all the shirts are color coordinated and organized by long sleeved, short, or tanks. If you don't know and like to putz around (like me) that's usually when you run across the coveted thrift store score. An amazing framed picture of Kenny Rogers, flamingo embroidered capri pants, or the howling wolf t-shirt. Goodwill is also a great place to go for a Halloween costume, just get a little creative. The prices are good and it's for a great cause. read more

It's a Goodwill. They sell cheap stuff. The serve the community. What's not to like? I find some of the furniture items here to be a little expensive, but it's a great place to get dress shirts! One of the cleaner and nicer Goodwills I've been to as well. read more

Stopped in today and was pleasantly surprised by what I found. Everything was nice and orderly and the aisle was actually big enough to maneuver through without pulling clothes off with the cart. This location isn't great, but it's decent and every now and then you can find some cool items. But some things are just overpriced for a Goodwill. They also don't make any effort to clean their stock, so many times I've found dirty items with gum stuck to them or other gross things. It's also annoying that they decide to write on a bunch of items with permanent marker for no apparent reason. read more
