This container-ship style little community spot is a gem for sitting in their big, shaded outdoor area (yes with free wi-fi) and grabbing a coffee, snack, lunch or (if you stay long enough) even a beer or cocktail! The day I visited was a warm one, and I appreciated not only the shade but the GINORMOUS overhead ceiling fan. I got there in the morning and it was incredibly quiet, with just a little coffee shop open (yay for an iced coffee and delish pumpkin muffin); I did a bunch of work, including two video meetings, and there was barely anyone around. By noon, it did start to get busier as the restaurants opened up. I didn't end up grabbing lunch, but some some delish eats walking by! Eventually it got pretty warm, even with the fan, so I moved to another (indoor) location for the rest of the afternoon. I'll definitely return here on my next trip to RDU!

I made an appointment and had to wait for a few minutes for them to open but once we were in - Emma gave us the low down of the place. Crafts galore! Pretty much you pick any project and pay $20.00 pp for a 2 hour window. We had a lot of fun making crafts - using the 3d printer and I carved a pattern on a piece of wood. I recommend taking your kids or friends here and then grabbing a bite as there's lot of businesses here and it's popular.

Oh, all these sweet babies need homes!…read more I dropped by today to donate some needed towels and several boxes of cute gingerbread dog biscuits I found at Aldi. The young lady at the counter said to put them under the Christmas tree where I saw about a dozen different types of animal donations. Unfortunately my spouse is highly allergic to animals, but I love dogs so I just donate what I can from time to time. I asked if I could take a look at the dogs even tho we can't adopt. Not only was I told yes, but if I wanted cuddle time with any just let her know. Be still my heart! So I went back to the kennel area and the first dog greeted me with non stop barking. Well, that's a fine howdy do! Turns out all the kennels were full and this first dog was the only one making a racket. The rest were so eager and friendly with tails waging wildly and eyes that begged to be taken home. They really tugged at my heart strings and by the time I reached the last kennel my eyes were welling up. I knew cuddle time with any one of them would make me have a major eye leak so said my good byes to them and said their new homes and owners would be there soon. As I opened the door from the kennel area a young couple was making their way to it. I gave them a heads up on the loud one in the first kennel, but said the rest would be happy to see them. Fingers crossed they didn't go home without one of these sweet pups!

Upon our move to Durham, we were struck with the realization that we had no friends or family in the Triangle area and we didn't know where to begin to get connected with people. Fortunately, one of our neighbors happened to be the pastor who had been tasked to start up a UMC church in Brier Creek. The church was in its 3rd year of existence, and he invited my wife and I to come check it out. He asked me what I was looking for in a church. We had not been regular church goers in the past and certainly were not well versed with scripture. My answer to the pastor was that we were seeking fellowship with people, and were interested in learning more about Christianity and the Bible. Our experience at All Saints' has been wonderful. We have watched the church grow from its start in an elementary school, to a beautiful facility that is warm and welcoming. We have made many fantastic friends and were warmly welcomed into the church and various small groups and teams within the church. To me, the most important benefit we have received has been our improved knowledge of scripture. The adult Bible study classes have been enlightening. It has been so helpful to see how others have similar questions about scripture. The various interpretations that we each bring to the group open our minds to things that we may not otherwise ever consider. I feel that I still have so much to learn and look forward to our Bible study each week. Our worship service consists of beautiful music, thought-provoking sermons, prayer, and weekly Holy Communion. We love the missional activities that All Saints' is involved with. All Saints' stresses the importance of working with the local communities and churches. I strongly recommend giving All Saints' a try for yourselves. It has been like-changing for us.
