I went in expecting this to be a thrift store. Everything was priced very high for being donated. Parking lot is super small, very little parking. I had to cross a very busy road to get over there. Definitely was not worth my time stopping. read more

Clothes targeted towards older women and are very cute! Pieces are in quality condition. Sorted by type of clothing and color, not size - but the shop is a smaller sized boutique so not overwhelming to sort through. :-) love the selection. A mix of thrift store clothes and the look of a little boutique, it's adorable, and definitely one you need to add you your thrift store shopping list. Went there for the first time today at a friend's suggestion and was super happy! It's a smaller store, but probably the same amount of "finds" as a big goodwill, just without all the extra junk. Like someone pre-shopped the big stores, and this was all of the best stuff. Seems like it's on the higher end, but still, $6 for a dress is pretty good. PLUS (and I don't know how often this is) I managed to hit a 50% off sales day and walked out with a sweater, a dress and a skirt for $7.25! read more

I really like this place! They have a very nice selection of clothes, organized by color. I usually find a few nice things every time I go in. Prices are slightly higher than some thrift stores, but selection is a little better. Plus I like that my shopping helps support a charity- I'll pay a few extra dollars per item for that. They have plenty of parking, including around the back of the building, and the dressing rooms are a good size (although they could use some better lighting). read more

If you're looking for second hand clothes I'd suggest checking out Pennies for Change. It's more expensive then the Durham Rescue Mission up the street, but well organized and clean. They also have limited furniture, household goods and jewelry but it changes often and you never know what you'l find (i doubt I need to state that for any thrift shop though!) I think what they do best is clothes and shoes, although it's demographic seemed more geared towards "older women" occasionally you can find some awesome vintage pieces, or something to upscale. They've got a large variety but it's not overwhelming and they steam everything so it's crisp. You won't find overly pleasant staff like at some boutique/small thrift stores but I can usually be in and out in under thirty minutes. They have clean dressing rooms and a rewards program. Be careful entering and exiting the parking lot as it's directly located on 15-501 and cars come quickly around the bend. I'd suggest parking along the side of the building rather then directly in front. read more

This primarily volunteer staffed nonprofit is lovely. They accept donations of women's gently worn clothing but only put out the nicest, in-style offerings. By contributing and purchasing I can fund help for domestic abuse victims. read more

On the pricier side as far as thrift stores go, I find it totally justifiable at Pennies for Change because the merchandise is nicely curated (stylish, in good shape, and clean) and well-organized (by type, size, and/or color), and the proceeds go to the Durham Crisis Response Center, which works to end domestic and sexual violence. Some other items of note: +While items are generally priced (shirts for $4), beware of white tags, which are individually-priced. (They're mixed in.) +They're known for their impressive window displays that change monthly. +They have two dressing rooms (with curtains, which I hate, but what are you gonna do?). +They're open on Sundays! Hallelu! +You can park right in front of the store on 15/501, but it can be tricky. They have more parking in the back. read more

this store had really beautiful vintage & pre-owned high end clothing! the store is definitely catered to older women (didnt have a men's section) so dont come expecting to buy any crop tops lol. they have a really nice selection of cashmere sweaters and a little section of pantsuits as well. i didnt see anything for me in those sections but i took home a pair of louboutin wedges for $90!!! the ladies the run the store were extremely kind as well, I'll definitely come back :) read more

Great store to buy recycled nice, even designer clothing, household goods and furniture that support a great cause. Most of the people who work there are volunteers and we need to appreciate their service as well. They have great bargains although their pricing can be a little uneven but again, it's for a great cause. Not sure why there are 3 star reviews here as there should only be 5 stars! read more

GREAT place to find ladies gently used clothing! Accessories are extremely inexpensive and the clothes are ridiculously cheap. All colored tags are standard prices, (like all tops are $4, all 2-pieces are $10, and all pants are $6 - or something like that), and all white tags have a predetermined price on them. Very well organized, clean, and open. Besides clothing, there are also other little knick knacks, and home goods (hell I think there was a bed there last time I went). I scored 5 pieces under $20! not bad :) I will be going back! read more

One of the nicer thrift shops around; it actually feels more like a consignment store! A few housewares and furniture pieces as you enter, cases of costume jewelry at the counter, and racks of clothes further in. Everything was organized by type (coats, pants, tops, plus), and pricing was easy to understand. $4 for any top! With brands like Talbots and Ann Taylor sprinkled in, you can get some really good deals if you find what you're looking for. They had some pretty amazing outerwear (things seemed mostly priced around $40), but I couldn't get my size to match up. And of course, everything supports an important Durham cause! read more

I'm a thrift store veteran who just moved to the area and was trying out the local stores. This place is great for women's clothes. The prices were good and I definitely saw some high end labels. I found a great dress for $6 which looked barely used. There isn't a whole lot of furniture or household items but I heard the cashier say that my open their former location as solely a furniture store so stay tuned for that. read more

A cute thrift boutique! This is one of the best thrift store options for ladies in the area. All of the clothing is modern and in excellent quality. You won't be digging through racks of pilled sweaters and 80s suits here. They have everything from lingerie, coats, plus sizes, jewelry, bathing suits, pants, skirts, formal dresses, outerwear, you name it. It's a well-edited selection, which is smart, so you can be in and out in a flash. They also have great deals on furniture and household items. I will definitely be back! This is a very nice thrift store for women's clothes and little cute accessories (picture frames, little boxes, appealing stuff like that). Very well curated thrift shop, more like a cross between a vintage botique and a thrift store. It is a fairly small store space so I had low hopes walking in but everything on the floor seems to be hand picked for the season, in good condition and well organized. We were on a hunt for prom dress and shoes and there were two whole racks devoted to prom-ish dresses. They were somewhat pricier than expected but I guess that's what you pay for the selection and curation (still when some of her school mates were dropping $200 just on dresses we ended up spending $60 on a dress, necklace, earrings and bag). And the profits from this shop benefit a good cause so that's nice. I assume inventory changes very rapidly so I'd come back next time I'm in town just to see what's in store for the season. read more

This is a fairly decent resale shop. I have donated stuff there. I have found things there on occasion, but not every time I shop. I would recommend it for a quick search to see if you can find anything you like. Donations are at least for a good cause. read more

Don't waste your time the ladies inside are rude. You walk inside and find 3 older ladies standing around but can't simply use customer service to say hello and welcome. Furthermore, your ready to check out and not one person comes to help you. When you ask for help she says it will be a minute? But you're the only customer in the store so you wonder why? I ended up setting my items down and walking out. Not worth the wait nor the customer service. I will find other ways to donate to this cause. read more
