This small Goodwill in Wilmington, North Carolina was full of surprises. I had walked to Goodwill from the international grocery market to get some books. I ended up finding items I never expected to find there. The books were $1 for paperback and $2 for hardcover books. Not bad. Despite the small selections of clothing I found two velvet blazer suit jackets, a black jean trucker jacket, thick black velour cardigan, and a long forest green cardigan with horn bone buttons. They were only $5 each. To carry all my stuff back to where my ride was, I bought a carry on child luggage with wheels for only $3. Overall, a nice visit to Goodwill and a thrift store to visit again in the future. read more

Walked in and basically walked out because the lack of variety. Seems like a lot of the thrift shops in the area don't have much brick brac like mugs, plates, jars, etc. There was a handful of books but they were in rough shape, and there were some electronics and lamps etc. The bulk of the items were clothing and linens. So wouldn't go back unfortunately as I don't need any clothes. read more

This one is a hit or miss but great to frequent because the furniture is fairly priced and they don't individually price the coats high.

This is a nice place to check out every once in awhile to see what they have. You can find name brand clothes, new books, and most times home decor and furniture. It's fairly well organized and is constantly restocked. read more

I haven't shopped here but stop frequently with donations and they're always happy to take whatever I bring and are friendly and enthusiastic. I don't know if they use everything or what they do with whatever they decide they don't want but the people working/volunteering are helpful. read more

This is a sad excuse for a thrift store. Unorganized and clothes just tossed into a bin you have to sort through. The clothes that are hanging are sorted by color which is normal for most Good Will stores. Not much else here to look at and you will drive on by unless you go to the door. I was in this store recently and witnessed a man, who I'm guessing is the manager (Greg?) yell at and threaten an elderly employee! The poor employee couldn't get a word in edgewise. This made me fear for her safety, so I can only imagine how it made her feel. It was an extremely uncomfortable, hostile experience, and I won't be coming back to this location. read more

There's nothing like going to a Goodwill and seeing an item that you would like to buy and have any employee deliberately put it back in the warehouse area, rather than put it on the shelf. very rude white male employee, deliberately not putting items on the shelf. watched him roam the store for half an hour putting other items out after he put the one item I was looking at back into the warehouse. read more

I'm just not a fan at all to this store - not sure if it's Goodwill or just this location. It is different down in the South as opposed to the North - that's for sure. The clothing was the most disorganized I've ever seen at any store and to make shopping feel even worse - they also have bins of stuff that you REALLY need to rummage through to find anything at all. The customer service was also sub-par for the south - not that friendly at all. They also do not know a knock off from the real deal and the pricing for these knock offs are more then if you went shopping for the knock off to begin with. Though there were plenty of parking spots - most were taking, which makes me feel as though the locals don't have any concerns about a real rummage sale! read more

At Kerr location 9am and found store to be very clean and organized just items unpriced. I then came to college Rd location and found counter clerk extremely rude. I only asked to plug in item to be sure it worked and was told no cause they don't have plugs. After purchase wasn't even offered a receipt. Store is also making customers were masks but clerk is not?? read more

I wasn't too impressed with the staff here when I dropped off my car load of donations recently! Yes, it was raining cats and dogs and it was around 1230-1pm but so what? The area was just devastated by Hurricane Florence and I drove an hour down from Rose Hill with a car load full of clothing, bed linens and miscellaneous items to hopefully, help those who lost everything recover but the older man was angry when he finally came out to the receiving area after we knocked and called for assistance. He began cussing us under his breath, as he propped the door open, then he told us where to put the items when we carried them in and he disappeared around the corner. Shortly thereafter, an older woman came out with the donation slip marked as 2 cartons and 2 rugs. Um, number one, you didn't witness us carry in anything nor did the guy. I had 8 large garbage bags full of clothing, bed linens and bath linens in addition to the 2 cartons and 2 rugs. When I tried to get her to correct the slip, she just kept saying, "Okay?" and handing the slip to me. Accepting defeat, I took the slip and left, vowing never to return! Goodwill? I think not but to the people who gained the new items, you're welcome and I hope they helped you recover after the hurricane. read more

I'm very disappointed with the good wills in this area this store is not neat at all. Clothes throw in piles always dirty fitting rooms Salvation Army is well done good will is not books are damaged thrown all over. Good will never has a good selection besides but more the stores is not too clean. I've been too goodwills in other states or other side of NC and over here the stores are horrible and other states and other places in nc there nicer. read more

I'm not the biggest fan of the goodwill stores, quality is usually lacking, the clothing is disorganized and I HATE that they sort by color and not by size!!! I also heard that all their donations are sold for profit... doesn't sound like "good will" to me... it sounds more like a cheap and lousy business practice... I got a few quality lamps there, I guess I can say that. and they're employees are friendly. If they sorted clothes by size I'd defiantly consider shopping there more often. read more

This was the first good will I've ever been in and I was not impressed. I know the items are used and donated but I was fairly surprised to pick up a pair of toddlers shoes that had dog feces all over the soles. I mean really? They can't even clean FECES off of an item? The workers were also non existent. You had to yell if you wanted to check out. The closer you got to the doors that lead to the back the more you could hear a lady talking about someone "taking a big 'Ol shit". It was amazing the lack of professionalism or care. Other than that - the store is set up nicely. Plenty of room for wheelchairs to go through. Just watch out for excrement. read more

This store usually has a decent collection of clothes and shoes and the staff are friendly. My only complaint is that they arrange clothing by color but not by size. If you're plus-sized, it means you have to sort through a lot more clothing to find something that might fit. read more

This is the place to go when you need some decent clothes, or some cheap shirts. They have great discount bins that they constantly add to, and racks and racks of quality clothing. I go here often - sometimes I walk out with just a couple of books and some white t-shirts for my husband (he's a painter), other times I walk out with a bag of long sleeve tshirts for my boys, a LL Bean jacket, Old Navy fleece, and who knows what-all. Dropped off books. Was easy and in and out in one minute. Where is the goodwill sign???

I didn't enjoy my experience here. I didn't like how they weren't organized by sizes and I thought the employees were quite rude. I also think it's odd they don't use card, they should put a bigger sign up letting people know that so customers wouldn't have to waste their time if they don't have cash or a checkbook. read more
