Probably my favorite goodwill in SD. The selection is great, it's very well organized. Tons of Halloween stuff! Lots of name brand too. Employees are so kind and helpful. Everything is priced cheap, no gouging or price hiking despite being in a nicer area. read more

Small store and very busy. Lots of great decorations for Halloween and Christmas. Found a three pumpkin metal stack (3-feet). So cute. Parking is tricky. Drove around the block for five minutes but eventually found street parking right on front of store. Great to have a meal before or after shopping. read more

I had phone problems and needed to use the customer service phone in the store. At first I thought the staff was being rude telling me to hurry up and hang up. I am a senior and was calling an Uber. Not a fan of this location. First, parking is a pain in the ass. Well PB overall is a pain in the ass so I guess if you're already in the area, fine, have a visit. Second, it's always cramped, hot and always crowded. Prices also seem to be a buck or two higher than even the Goodwill on Clairemont Dr. And finally, the book section is absolute s**t. It's a half a shelf stuffed in the corner where there's always some old lady trying on clothes in front of the mirror. Hard pass. read more

I been coming to this store for years. Maybe 18 years ago, I found two of the cutest sun dress that I own. I found another dress at this Goodwill that I wore to UCSD Revelle Award Ceremony, and had my picture in that dress taken with the Chancellor of UCSD, Pradeep Khosla. It turned out to be one of the best pictures I ever took in my life! I also found a Hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum. It was priced at $15, but the brush roller did not move. I called a vaccum repair store, and he said it is likely only needing a belt, which he could get it running for $20. So I talked to the Goodwill store manager and showed her the brush roller didn't move. She said but this is used and Goodwill. She had to go ask someone but came back and said she would sell it to me for $9.99 which was more discount than I expected. I was happy. I did get the belt installed and it made it work great, just as the vaccum store told me. I am not giving this store 4 or 5 stars, because I think the prices are really high here. Many many times priced higher or same as new. Lotta kitchen utensils are priced higher than new at Dollar Tree or 99 Cents store, or even higher than WalMart. So it is a matter of finding something EXTRA-ordinary at this store, like what I mentioned already. That you are willing to pay the higher prices for them. Also, 3 stars, because this Goodwill is the smallest Goodwill that I have ever been to, and I been to many many Goodwills in Phoenix metro area. There land and rent is much cheaper. read more

I like going to Goodwill Industries stores. It's the thrill of the hunt, you never know when you will stumble across a very expensive item at a very cheap price, or find something you never knew you wanted until you saw it here, very cheap. The selection of men's clothing is massive, I'm talking hundreds of shirts and other mens apparel at rock bottom prices. It seems nobody leaves this store empty-handed. The store is smallish, compared to the Rosecrans location where I have shopped, but it is very well organized. Parking is tight, street only, and I ended up parking a block away in a residential area. Not the fault of the store. And despite this being a thrift store, there is a 10 percent discount for students, teachers, military or senior. Nice. read more

Love this Goodwill! Great spot for 20-somethings like myself. Found really nice like-new tops from Francesca's for $7, some men's button ups for $8, and most notably this beautiful sunset canvas for only $13! Plus they have a 10% military, student and teacher discount. Always good finds at this place, just be sure to carefully inspect for any stains or rips. Store also has two fitting rooms. read more

This place definitely isn't as vast as other locations, but they still get a ton of business and traffic. There's definitely no shortage of men's polo shirts and men's dress shirts. There is a fairly decent selection of t-shirts as well. For this most recent visit, all I remember purchasing was a pair of sandals for either the pool or beach. If I was in need of running shoes or soccer cleats, I probably could have purchased them here for cheap. Staff is helpful (for those who would like to be helped). This thrift store is very close to a few others within a block of each other. It's definitely worth checking out while you're in the area. I had two hours to kill before attending a beach party a few miles away. I was kind of looking for a folding chair, so I stopped in. They didn't have any, but I did some browsing mainly to kill time. Goodwill stores are needed because one person's junk can be someone else's treasure. Lots of decent used items at this store, like name brand gym bags for $10 ($30 price tag still on) and some never used golf jackets for $15, and slacks for $7. They were neatly arranged but you had to dig to find your exact size. There were also some really tacky looking items that most people would never wear, like a neon green dress shirt, paisley and striped sweater, or hot pink men's polo shirt. But if you're into being loud and outdated in your fashion sense you might get lucky here. Some woman was teasing her BF that the silk shirt he was looking at probably once belonged to a pimp. The music and DVD collection was hilarious with cassette tapes, DVD's of some B grade movies like "Shaft" and looked like it was worn. Still at $2- $10 a piece, people were buying them. There were lots of womens items, and housewares. They had some one of a kind plates and candle holders and small appliances. I lived in this town years ago before moving to OC, and it was nice to see what they had done with this street. But I think this store has been here forever, and most people walked out with a bagful of stuff for under $20. This is probably an average sized Goodwill store. They have a dressing room so you could make sure at least the stuff fits. The lines on a Saturday were long. I didn't buy anything because I didn't find anything I needed. It made me realize coming here that I needed to get rid of some wearable clothing at my local Goodwill. read more

This is one of the best Goodwills I've ever been to. Pretty great selection of cool sweaters and watches! I was thisclose to buying a 1992 vintage novelty Swatch watch for $3.99. Came here to find some clothes for myself, I'm a college student so I prefer going to thrift stores before retail stores. I was so excited to find one of my favorite brand of jeans in my size but shocked to see they were charging $38.99. (Madewell) Not even new with tags. I'm pretty sure you can get them new, on sale, online for that price. Along with lots of other unnecessarily high priced items. In fact for several years when I was young and broke-ski goodwill was the mainstay of my wardrobe. Of course, I thought I was a fashion guru at the time. Based on shopping and also on the easy time I had donating clothes I give this place five out of five stars. Had a great experience with the staff during my shopping. I also decided to go through my own closet and get rid of a bunch of old stuff and brought it in one night. The guy that accepted my donations was super chill. I was nicely surprised to walk in and see a "boutique" looking store with clothes in almost new condition. I was looking for women's blouses which were $5.99 each. I found a beautiful colorful wool scarf for $3.99 which was a steal because it looked brand new! Unfortunately because of the pandemic the dressing rooms were closed and I couldn't try anything on, so I passed on a few items. Next time in Pacific Beach I will definitely stop by! read more

EPIC WIN: Found a pair of Paige brand jeans here for $7.99. I'm obviously going to get them hemmed because these XL jeans are clearly no match for my 5 feet 3 inches of fury, but still - the savings are unbelievable. And in a style and wash that are still from the last 5 years, heh. This place is a gold mine for ridiculous themed parties, too. I found a sleeveless denim blouse with an American flag on it and some mom jeans that I converted into jorts for a redneck-themed party...AND everyday life?!? ... Or need a puffy vest for a Vest Barcrawl? Goodwill - BOOM. Bringing back the turtleneck sweater? Find it here! To make matters more awesome, military, senior citizens, and students (with ID) get a 10% discount. This is the goodest of Goodwills. It is the willest of all Goodwills. Its Will Smith. It is Good Will Hunting. The missus, band of pups and I stopped by briefly after noticing an amazing cabinet in the window. The cabinet? A 1947 Stewart-Warner AM/FM/Phono cabinet. In amazing shape--better than anyone I know who was around then. Radio works. Tubes and wires. I am blinded with science. How much? HOW much? How MUCH? $49.00, lifted into your car by infinitely helpful staff. The staff had goodwill. They were good. They had will. Also found a trilby hat from the early 50s and a woolen tie from Chicago, Illinois for $5.99 and $2.99 respectively. Goodwill is well organized and free of the 'essence' that prevails in many of its peer stores, such as Amvets. The degree of goodwilliness is beyond the pale. A hundred billion stars from me. read more

It's the day of our 80's night extravaganza party and I don't have anything to wear. Not a problem, PB is filled with thrift shops to meet our 80's needs. The first stop was the Salvation Army, which yielded few results initially. Next, we headed to United Cerebral Palsy Thrift, which had an even smaller selection. Right next door is the Goodwill. Apparently everyone comes to these thrift shops for 80's clothes because we saw the same people at all three stores. This place is great for finding stuff that will get you weird looks if you wore it on the street casually. Luckily, I found a pair of neon green shorts and also a set of badminton rackets. I was going for the caveman look from that Geico tennis commercial. You can't beat finding those shorts for $4 and the rackets for $3 total. They even give you a 10% student discount. A worker was even helpful in trying to help us find potential outfits and fished out a pair of legwarmers. I finished off my outfit with some baseball socks and a headband from Play It Again Sports across the street and a green stripped polo and suspenders from the first Salvation Army store. The result was a bitchin' 80's outfit for the party, but I probably should have changed before we went out to get Mexican food afterward. read more

really love a bargain, thrift stores are great for a bargain. I was in the Goodwill about two weeks ago looking for stuff to decorate for my toga party...well I found a lot of other things instead, cute new shorts with a $68 price tag for $7...a cute little sweater from Nordstrom with the tags still on, originally $88, I got it for $6 bucks! SCORE!! Also I saw this really cool old looking pair of wooden candle sticks. I picked them up, turned them over, saw some oldish sticker that said 'made in Italy'...put them back....picked them up again...they were only like $5 each. I didn't want to spend the extra money on another pair of candle sticks so I didn't buy them. Plus I am moving soon and now is not the time to buy stuff, it is the time to purge stuff...so....I passed on em. Well-I shoulda' bought them because today I was in some swanky home store in La Jolla, on Girard, you know the type that specializes in that 'old but new' look. Guess what I saw there... yep, I shit you not. The VERY SAME EXACT candle sticks. The owner bought them at the Goodwill for like $10 bucks and had them marked 'Vintage Italian Candlesticks' with a price tag of $50 frickin dollars. I am SURE they were the same pair...I am sure of it. I almost called the store owner on it, but decided it wouldn't be in my best interest. Next time I'm gonna go to the GW first and buy all the good stuff so he can't have it and mark it up 500%. Damn it, I should have bought them....I should have bought them. This place was like eBay in a box! Having spent about 2 hours picking through racks, I notcied they are constantly (like every 20 minutes) bringing new merch out on the racks. So really, you think you can go through the whole store in an hour but you have to keep going in circles to see if you are missing anything! All the racks up front have the more "boutique and designer" merch, 75% of it with tags still on. Insanely cheap. I found myself a nicely worn in pair of Seven's for 10 bucks, an Ed Hardy top for 6 bucks, and a Ralph Lauren classic suit for 22 bucks! (The tag from Nordstroms was still on with a CLEARANCE price of $140!) Not to mention the staff is warm and helpful. If you are a serious bargain hunter like me, you will find yourself at this specific Goodwill every Saturday morning when they open the doors. Happy Shopping! read more

Man, I'm going to totally take a risk and tell you all that this place is one of the BEST spots for thrifting in my experience in SD because I don't want everyone to run in and buy up all the treasures! To the person donating all adorable size 6 shoes and Zara clothing - THANK YOU! I think I've probably bought everything you've taken there. I also fully regret not buying a giant, pink lace layered top hat for 1.99 a few months back and can only hope it's gone to a home that appreciates how ridiculously wonderful it is. The staff is always friendly and helpful, it's pretty organized and easy to browse through, and there's a decent selection for being one of the smaller locations. I make it a point to stop here at least once a week because I know I'll find something new for my wardrobe or for the next theme party I attend! PS: don't forget your student or military ID for that discount! I suggest going before 5pm when it's really easy to get parking in the area. read more

Great thrift store! I've been here twice already, I came here on Saturday and walked out with $75 worth of designer clothing! You really need to take your time and comb through each rack, you never know what you'll find! When I came it was Buy 2 Get 1 Free pair of Jeans or Black Pants. Stopped in here after we went to AmVets on Pacific Hwy, and I sure made out. I got a really nice pair of Dunlop golf shoes that fit great. There was hardly any wear on them at all. They were a little dirty, but no biggie. And there was 1 soft spike missing. I didn't care about that because I'm putting all new ones on anyway. But the deal of the day, heck, the deal of the year so far. I got a really nice Croft & Barrow suede jacket. It looks like a riding jacket, which is why I bought it, for when i go cruising on my scooter. Guess they sell them at Khols, or so Google says. I couldn't find the exact model, but like Heidi Klum says, ' One day your in, and the next day you're out'. So that's why I couldn't find the model. The jacket was brand new. It still had one of those little fabric fresh bags in one of the pockets, and still had a little plastic tabs that's attached to the tags for it. And lucky for me it was half price day, so I was charged $19.95 for the jacket, and $2.50 for the shoes, minus the discount, and it costs me around 12 bucks. Nice clean place, very helpful employees, and great deals to be had. read more

This is my favorite Goodwill in San Diego. Thrift store shopping is one of my favorite things to do, and I always find so many treasures here. The quality of their items is far superior to the Cerebral Palsy Thrift Store up the street, in my humble opinion. Not to mention that the staff here are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I shop here and also donate items on a regular basis. I found some nearly brand-new Chinese Laundry pink d'orsay flats, practically new black Guess pumps, and a myriad of other brand-name items that look like they just came off the shelf! There's nothing like finding 6 adorable items of clothing and only spending $35. Plus, it feels good to know that you are helping contribute to Goodwill's mission locally, helping people get jobs and also recycling items for reuse. For me, this store has been a whole lot of meh, but it's among several other thrift stores in the area, so I usually stop here anyway. Fairly small compared to most Goodwill stores. I wandered in to the PB Goodwill after a massage at IPSB next door. The massage was so freakin' amazing that I didn't feel quite ready to drive, and needed a few minutes to come back down to earth. Seriously. I was pleasantly surprised - good selection, well organized, and reasonable prices. They also offer student & military discounts with ID. Yay! I got 2 super cute corduroy jackets and an embellished long sleeve t-shirt for $18 dollars. I don't know that I'd necessarily go there on purpose, since it's right on Garnet in the middle of all the PB madness, but if I'm in the area anyway, I will certainly drop in again. read more

The staff here are friendly. There is a lot to choose from with ample lighting and music. There are even bikes near the front. The parking might be a bit difficult because the street is busy. There isn't a discount up to 50 percent like other thrift shops here in San Diego that I've been to but there's a regular 10 percent off if you're a student,teacher, military or senior. read more
