I like stopping at goodwill because it's fun to hunt for treasures or things that you find that you wouldn't buy normally. I don't buy things to resell. This Goodwill however is terrible. The pricing is ridiculous compared to other Goodwill stores. As far as I understand Goodwills in Kentucky are not franchised so by is the pricing so much different here? Clothes sections like dresses are not a standard price. I get having another rack with more expansive ones but all dresses are priced individually. Even toys are done this way! Knick knacks are hard to find for under five dollars despite being something super small or having a retail sticker on it that shows a lesser price. Skip this store if you can..... and stop asking to round purchases up with insane prices like this. read more

Yikes! What is going on with these prices? I tag yardsale items much cheaper - and what I'm unloading is in great shape. Same worn clothing items, but now seems to be priced by item and I've purchased the same brands on sale for the same price. Dressing rooms are available, which I recommend due to the items being final sale. This is a large location with several racks. It's clear that the local community supports this Goodwill and they had several associates in the aisles, back room, and checkout. Maybe resellers and cost of real estate are simply changing what Goodwill can offer. For me, the happiness of stopping in is wearing thin. read more

I've always loved the treasure hunt of thrifting, and this place used to be one of my favorite spots to stop in. It was fun to pass time by looking for something new to me at a great price point. My last few stops here have been more than disappointing. Prices are outrageous - you could find something new on sale for about the same price in some cases. It also seems like the items they are offering are lower in quality. Both the brands on the racks and shelves and the conditions of the items have gone downhill. On my most recent visit I pointed out some clothes that were mis-tagged (wrong category, such as a T-shirt being called and priced as a sweater). The employee acknowledged that it was wrong and just shrugged. Sadly, I'll probably stop stopping in after that last visit. read more

I am only giving 5 stars for their drop-off crew. Ive never actually shopped here but I've dropped off items mostly at Hikes Point and this location. I live in Hikes point but make the drive to this location because their staff is consistently kind and accommodating. Hikes Point always disappoints with their rude staff when I make drop-offs there. Very pleased each time I drop off at this location. Their kindness and pleasant demeanor are very appreciated by me. read more

It would be one star but I gave an extra because they have some cool stuff. However you can't try anything on so I specifically asked about the return policy and was told within ten days, no problems, just keep the tags on. I came back the next day and was told no cash back. Two thumbs down for not explaining this, and also for not paying attention and charging me full price for something that was a weekly special and should have been 99 cents. So I shop there each week with my mother. The other day I found a pair of shoes in a cart that had a bunch of stuff in it. This girl comes up to me and says she wants the shoes back that are in my cart that I handpicked because they were supposed to be priced higher and put behind the counter. I was in shock a used pair of scuffed shoes that I would have to spend some time trying to mend are you serious? What $4 isn't enough for you? Greedywill..you get stuff for free & own a real expensive piece of real estate there & dont even have to pay taxes. You also treat your employees like crap and don't even pay minimum wage as the government subsidizes the wages. Yeah folks get that we're subsidizing Goodwill employees wages with our tax dollars!! Really & then you have the audacity to ask us to round up? You are a sucking leach as a "charity font". Also we know most of your good stuff gets put online and the dirty broken crap Onley hits the floor. Overpriced at best! Additionally you really do nothing for Louisville's poor and the community overall. Your not helping the poor people & homeless people on the streets. After coming home and talking to my neighbor and looking online I see that this is happening to other people as well. It's also sad about the millions of pounds of very good stuff you throw in the trash every day. You'd rather throw Stuff in the trash rather than someone else have it. So if anybody donates get that as a fact! Furthermore, you claim you provide good jobs. Really? Like what "good" jobs? Like better jobs than McDonald's or the gas station? Like full benefits and the ability to pull themselves out of poverty? You employ people who have to collect food stamps and remain poor & disabled & dependent on your low wages. Most don't make enough money to even afford a car let alone car insurance or a bus ticket. Sadly you are frauds & the ultimate charity con artists of the century. Your execs make 3 figures and CEOs make millions of dollars. Yeah everybody let's keep rounding up so we can keep inflating these greedy bastards pockets. If you don't believe me look online there's several videos and articles about this as fact! My mother and I will never donate anything to you ever again let alone shop there!! I was going to donate her furniture when I move her into assisted living home & that's not happening now. We will help a needy family ourselves instead! This way we will know that our valuable well cared for furniture won't end up in the trash or overpriced by you making it unaffordable to others.. I haven't been to a Goodwill in years because they seem pricey. I thought I would give this a shot though. I should've stuck to my original instincts. I headed to the restroom first. I am on a walker and the handicap stall was out of order so I left my walker outside the stall and went into another. What a pit! I'm lucky I didn't contract Hep C. I'd rather use a port o potti. Then i went into the store. What a dump! My daughter found a planter so I took it to the counter. Nobody in line but had to wait several minutes to be helped by the most unfriendly person I've come across in KY. I'll never be back again. The Salvation Army in Clarksville is worth the trip to have some order, cheaper prices and WAY friendlier staff. read more

Let me begin by saying that this store is my secret obsession. I find really good quality items for such a low price. I live in Southern Indiana so I don't get to visit the store as often as I would like so last night I happened to be in the vicinity and my husband was hoping to find 1 particular thing. We were aware that the store closed at 9 and at the time we stopped it would only allow us approximately 20 min to shop. Walking in the doors there was a gentleman standing a few feet from the entrance and very sternly advised the store is closing for the night. I explained my husband wanted to check for 1 thing and we should not be any longer than 10 min. The young lady behind the counter was very agitated with the fact that people were still coming into the store and was cussing, complaining, and being very obvious that she was not happy. After I spoke to the gentleman she very loudly yells we are closed. Again we explain that we should not be but a few mins because we were looking for 1 item, still vacating before closing time at 9. The lady went on to talk indirectly to me about how they (I'm guessing management) need to stop this sh*t from happening, she is sick of this sh*t, people need to know the store closes at 9 and they can't just come walking in there 1" mins before close, I'm about to lock at these mother f*ckers out (proceeds to go lock the doors and it was 8:50 according to my watch), Chris (who I was guessing was the manager) needs to hear about this and put a stop to it. I was so uncomfortable I sat it a chair by the front door not daring to look at a single item and waited for my husband. I chatted with a lady that was scolded as she came through the doors and we laughed a little as she went about her way not wanting to waste any time. Out of nowhere the raging lady behind the counter yells in my direction, "Can I help you"? I looked around to make sure she was talking to me and no one else was in the area so it was me she was talking to. I told her that I was just waiting on my husband and she snaps her neck and says again, "But can I help you"? I'm confused and tell her once again I'm just waiting on my husband. "I was just wanting to know if I could help you because you keep staring like you got a problem, so what's the deal, why you keep staring this way"? I'm beside myself and utterly confused. I tell her I have not been doing any such thing. I guess maybe I did State a bit out of disbelief as to the way she was acting when I walked in but in no way was I being confrontational or obviously staring because quite frankly she was being very intimidating. I guess my answer was not convincing enough because she picked up the phone and through the whole store she announced she needed a manager to the front immediately. A guy came to the register and she did not mention a thing to him about what just took place between us and I certainly was not going to walk up and speak with him as she is standing right there. I figure out the manager that came to the register as requested by the crazed worker was Chris. He kept explaining that the store closed at 9 and they had to allow customers in the store until that time. Unfortunately they were not allowed to lock doors or tell people they were closed before the time of 9oclock. I'm wondering to myself why in the world he was not addressing the behavior of the employees and getting their mouths under control because it was loud and clear how they were feeling at that moment and what they thought if every last person in the store. The manager failed by allowing it to continue and in front of customers. If they wanted to have the conversation about what the rules were and how the procedures of closing the store are, the conversation should have moved away from customers. I was so confused, mad, and it really weighed heavy on me. Currently in the world around us there is enough negativity that is out of our control, there is no need to create more. Maybe this can be chalked up to a few people having a bad night and hopefully won't continue. Completely unprofessional! read more
