This location apparently specializes in clothing only and have very limited to no electronics at all; I understand that every thrift location has its own specialty but this store is a clothes factory and the prices are unreasonable in a way compared to other local thrift stores, it's kinda odd how they get donations for free but charge regular store prices for free inventory read more

I've stopped into this occasion a few times lately and found some absolute gems of clothing and home items. Every time I stop in, I'm drawn to how friendly and outgoing the GM is. She is always at the front helping customers with a huge smile and infectious attitude. I can tell by the way she interacts with her employees and customers that she is an awesome boss to work for and treats everyone with respect. Definitely going to be coming back! read more

I found a Gucci purse with no price tag on the shelf today. I went to customer service to see if I could get a price on it. No one was there. I saw a young lady fast walking by me and asked if she worked there since I couldn't see her vest due to the large sweater she had on and waist long hair covering everything. Her response 'I have a vest on don't I?' as she kept walking on by. I turned around to look at her and she decides to ask if I wanted something. I requested a price on the purse. She took the purse and went through the staff doors supposedly to check on it. She came back out and told me it wasn't for sale all the awhile never stopped walking. I found her rude. I won't be coming back to this store for a long time. I usually enjoy coming here to just look around for finds. I'll go elsewhere. read more

I shop at this store 2 to 3 times a week. The store is always clean and well organized ,and a very nice selection of clothing. I would also like to add that the managers of this store are helpful whenever you might have a question or a comment about something and they always wear a smile or say hello to us the customers. Good location, plenty of parking. Some of their prices are a little high for just a simple T-shirt. I love their glassware section. I never buy glassware, but they organize their plates into sets and they always have some fun memorabilia to look at. I wish they would stock more non-fiction books. Shoe section is dismal, but the clothes are well organized. They have colored tag sales. read more

I used to love this store. It seems Goodwill forgot they were a thrift store and thrift stores are supposed to be cheap. In the past few years they have raised their prices, but they were still the same across a category and still thrift store prices (for example, all jeans were $7.99, shirts $4.99, etc). Now it seems they pick and choose certain items to raise prices on again. Today, several used mall brand shirts were $8 and above with some at $12, several of the jeans were $10 and over. A pair of used shoes from Target were $9.99. I'd rather just purchase it brand new at Target or TJ Maxx for just a few dollars more. The irony is people would probably buy more and spend a lot more money if the prices were more reasonable. Lines to check out were long, it seems they need more help. read more

My husband and I are avid thrift store fans. We love just spending a weekend day stumbling around a thrift shop looking for hidden treasures. I mean, you never know what you'll find and often times, you'll run into some amazing bargains. This is certainly the case at this particular Goodwill location. We were just there this past weekend, as we hadn't been in a while. I found a couple of pair of nice slacks, fat boy size, a couple of shirts and even a Christmas gift. And yes, I did say 'fat boy' size as I am (ahem!) a little husky! Within the past year, this Goodwill location has added an electronics section, dedicated to start up computers, DVD players and the like. You even have an opportunity to try the products before you purchase them, which is a nice added benefit. For those of you who still have turntables, you can also find a nice selection of LP's here, especially around Christmas time. Just so you know, we have three working turntables at home, including the turntable I had from my college days! Maybe I am old school, or maybe just old! Haha. The staff at this Goodwill are always pleasant and more than willing to assist whenever necessary. Most importantly, the prices here are awesome and many times, depending on the color of the price tag, you can have an additional 20 - 75% off! Give them a try when you can. If you like wandering through thrift stores, this will be a good start for you! read more

This is one of my favorite Goodwill locations. If you're a fashionista, this is your spot-- I've found new with tags boutique clothes as well as a ton of J Crew, Banana Republic and department store brands. The odd thing is that there is never any furniture there. I often come in just to look for a dresser or something to refurbish and flip and all that's there are old coffee tables. I also find that the shoe section makes no sense and isn't organized in any way. read more

Good Goodwill stores are hard to come by. This is my favorite thrift store in the area. There are lots of great brands like J.Crew, Banana Republic and vintage clothing to create your own look. I get so many great compliments from my coworkers about clothes. When they ask "Where did you get that from?" nine times out of 10 I say Goodwill. Went in here and found a lot of great items and had a handful of things to buy. I heard a customer yelling at a store clerk and went over to see what was happening. The lady was furious about the cost of a pair of shoes...which were $24.99!! She was complaining about the prices of clothes too. I then looked at the items I was getting (I usually just grab and look later) and noticed how the prices have gone up. I put EVERYTHING back, told the store clerk that I didn't agree with how the other lady went about it, but she was RIGHT! I promptly put everything back and left the store. Goodwill....you get your stuff GIVEN to you! Don't jack up prices in a poor community! The Overland Park store had better prices! So sad...this used to be a good store! read more

I visited several Goodwills this weekend in the Kansas City area as my daughter has a basketball tournament locally. I live in Oklahoma and will be returning home Sunday. Upon my last Goodwill visit here, I questioned the return policy and was told "I can make a return as long as it's within the week" since I'm staying the weekend I didn't find it problematic to return since I can go to my hotel room try on clothes being the dressing rooms are still closed, then return the following day to return if need be. I returned items to the Oak St. location and was rudely notified by an "assistant manager" who went to get someone else named David which met me with the same rudeness. He didn't bother to even speak or introduce himself before abruptly saying I won't be giving a refund since the return policy is listed in the front and back of the store. I politely explained to David, the policy should be clearly stated "no refunds" at each register specifically for non locals such as myself to lessen confusion and problems. I explained its not practical to walk into Goodwill looking near the closed dressing room which is where the policy was posted on a pole nor is it feasible to look at the bottom of a receipt After a customer has paid to see that there's no refunds especially when a worker clearly verbally said to me that I can return items within a certain time frame & that's it pertaining to returning. A return is just that a return not a store credit mind you, I can't use the credit in my home state therefore it's of no good to me. My home state has no returns or exchanges However, the dressing room IS OPEN which is the only reason that I had to return. I had to go to the hotel, try on clothes come back the next day (what's most convenient) just to receive zero customer service. Totally Unacceptable! Please do better because Goodwill MoKan has left a horrible first impression. I've lost 20+ dollars because the store refused to do the right thing. To add insult to injury, David wrote the main office number down for me to contact, when I did call it happened to be THIS SAME STORE ON OAK ST. where I had issues Unbelievable!!! We popped into this Goodwill store about a year ago after eating dinner nearby and have been dropping off garage sale leftover clothes here for a few years. Wow what a discovery! I'm sure I had some preconceived notions about what kind of merchandise we would find inside, but I was wrong. I poked through the racks of men's clothes and found quite a few nice shirts for work and casual. Also found good pants. Prices range from 3-5 bucks for mens shirts and pants. We found lots of kids clothes and my wife found clothes as well. All the clothes are sorted by mens/womens/kids and then by size as well so you don't have to pawn through racks of things to find your size. Sure, there are odd ball things, company logo shirts, dry cleaning abandoned clothes, and the occasional clothing item that is torn is some way (always check items thoroughly). But I have also found made in Hawaii, Hawaiian shirts and brand new shirts with the store tags still on them. For $4, you can't beat that. There are also sections of the store for knick-knacks, pots and pans, dishes, books, kids toys, furniture, and the odd ball stuff now and again. Over the last year we have bought tons of clothes, some furniture, picked up a Brita water jug for $4, a washing machine pedistal base super cheap, and various other items. I swear I will not buy clothes at a department store again considering with a little patience, you will find plenty at the Goodwill store. It's just fun to go and wander and see what we can find and it helps out others with the proceeds. read more

Shopping at Goodwill is fun. They have it organized wonderfully and the prices are right. It's easier than other thrift stores because all like items are priced the same. A jacket is a jacket and they're all 5.49. Depending on the day different colored tags (plastic tag holders) are on sale 50% off. I got my daughter a cute Old Navy jean jacket today for half price because the tag was red. SCORE. read more
