I wanted to update my review for this location because my recent experience was a night-and-day difference from the past. Previously, I found the service lacking and the employees weren't very professional or kind. However, my latest visit completely turned things around! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Before heading over, I called ahead to confirm their hours, and the gentleman on the phone was incredibly nice and helpful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I ended up visiting toward the end of the day, and the entire staff on shift was warm, laid-back, and super accommodating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The store itself wasn't perfectly organized, but to be completely fair, it was the Saturday right after a busy holiday weekend, so a bit of chaos is totally understandable given the foot traffic they must have had. I always like to keep my reviews up to date so other shoppers get an accurate picture, and I'm really happy to report that the customer service has significantly improved. Picked up multiple items that weren't priced. I wanted to buy one of them, they refused because there was no tag. I asked if they could price it because I saw an employee verbally pricing things to another employee who was marking items but they refused to price the shirt I brought to the register. I was annoyed but fine, whatever, I didn't buy it. I was buying one other item and they rounded my purchase price up without asking, and I didn't notice until I looked at the receipt. Shady employees and seriously over-estimating the value of their inventory. Make sure they're not rounding up your purchase before you pay!! read more

Im sorry but WHY do goodwills now close at 6pm? I understand why these were the hours during covid but to keep it like that makes no sense. Most people get out of work at 530. So I can literally never make it to the store. Even staying open until 7 is more normal than closing at 6. Not to mention they give an announcement every 5 minutes starting at 5 reminding everyone the store is closing at 6. Annoying. And if something is not priced they won't sell it to you. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I went to a staff member and she said they'll price it but it will take a while.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was okay to wait, so I go by the doors to wait while they were going to price it in the back. About 15 minutes later another worker comes out and asks what the issue was. I said I was just waiting for something to be priced. He then explains that it's not going to be priced until hours from now because there are over 200 thing waiting to be priced. Why couldn't the item I am literally going to purchase immediately not take priority? "Because that's our policy." That policy makes no sense. "It says it clearly in our policy that you can read." Nowhere in the store was this supposed policy, and nowhere on the website for Goodwill does it say that they won't prioritize pricing things that are literally on the shelf about to be bought. Really impressed with this Goodwill! Everything is fairly priced, and there are a ton of clothes/items to go through. I was able to find some really great pieces for $5-$10. I've also dropped off clothes here and feel good knowing they are actually being donated/ sold. This store must be laziest. Every skirt was a Large, despite the tag inside saying Medium and Small. All the bags were $9.99, even ones with huge stains and the smallest bag was $9.99. they weren't designers either. Everything seems over priced. $3.99 for a box, $2.00 for something from the dollar tree, toy section. Don't waste your time...or gas. read more

PROS: The workers here are nice and there's a large variety of clothes, movies, and books. CONS: There is a shortage of shopping carts and the bric-a-brac items are highly priced and unorganized. The cashiers also work slow which causes a back up. Their bathroom doesn't have soap, it has aftersun gel which is not soap. Goodwill puts the best stuff on their shopgoodwill.com website so getting a great deal in the store on a great item is highly unusual. Plus they have greatly increased their prices, and for all the money the company brings in, there are no shopping carts available at the stores when you want one. Items online go for market price so the company brings in tons of money, yet the stores are seriously underserved and overpriced. read more

I had a ridiculous experience there the other day when a cart of new items was brought out. I know to wait until the cart stops rolling. The man who wheeled the cart out had reached the end of the cart line and stopped and I tried to remove one item from the cart. He yelled at me for touching the item, and then proceeded to turn the cart at a 90 degree angle seemingly to show he has power over the customers. read more

Don't donate anything to these people! I had a large donation of goods that that I needed to drop off here. They have only one person working, so if there is more than one customer dropping off, you'll do most of the carrying yourself. Need a receipt for taxes? Here's where the fun started for me. When I asked the attendant for a receipt, she said, "You get it online." And walked off. No web address, email address, nothing. So I head home and went on goodwill.org. No receipt. I find an email address. 2 days later no response. So I call the store and they give me another email address. 3 days later still no response. I find a website for goodwill that handles our area. There's a phone number on there that no one ever answers, regardless of when you call. Still no response on the email. I call the store again and the get YET ANOTHER email address. The clerk actually told me that's there's a BIG SIGN (?) at the donation area with an email address. If that's the case, why wasn't I given that the first time I called? (Not that it does any good. I emailed at least 5 days ago and still no response.) Oh, and then I find out that only 10% of the money from the sale of these items goes to actual charity. I would expect more. read more

I love thrifting but goodwill has increased their prices. I love the concept of being sustainable and buying clothes that have been used but sometimes the clothes aren't in the best condition and aren't worth what they want to charge. This location is hit or miss just like any thrift store. The staff is friendly and their is somewhat organized. read more

I like going here as opposed to some of the other stores in more congested areas such as Paramus or Nanuet. there are always good bargains to be found at this store. At this time drop off of items is limited which is causing me to plan better. I understand that they are being overwhelmed by donations since no donations were allowed for most of 2020 due to COVID-19. the fact is some of the things that we wish to donate and no longer want really have no value on a retail level. I like buying things that other people have used because it reduces the amount of clothes that are produced and therefore is a positive impact on the environment read more

Some of the other reviews say the prices here are too high. I don't know about all that. But this place DOES have a great selection of plus-sized women's sweaters and jackets. And well, as a 6' 2" man with a penchant for looking bizarre and stupid, I'm gonna be all over a rack of plus-sized North Jersey housewife hand-me-downs like white on rice. No clue if any of this crap is brand name or high quality but there sure are plenty of great old lady windbreaker-type jackets and ugly cardigans. Picked up a nice green number with gold buttons and stupid embroidered patterns on the shoulders. Man will I look like a god damned idiot wearing this! Not only that, I found a ratty old Backgammon board game, a vintage Jackson Hole, Wyoming coffee mug and a copy of "The Cat from Outer Space", a book novelized from the '70s Disney sci-fi/comedy film. Who do they have pricing all the junk? Soo overpriced , some things actually they tag for more than what it originally cost new! I can't tell u how many times, i have seen dollar tree brand items priced $2-10! They need sorry olde people, who know prices better, and Greenbrier is Dollar Tree brand, train staff to look for sticker's on items! And if one says Greenbrier, it cost $1 new! Lol. I started going to this store about a year ago, it is hit or miss, as expected, but this store allows people to stand by door and grab things from cart as they are coming out from back. There are two women customers that are very aggressive. When looking through cart they go in front of you and are very rude (especially the little one). I was in there one time and one of them got into an argument with another customer, they had to call the police. They are in the store the whole day. The staff is pretty good, but they facilitate this woman. read more

This is better and nicer than the Fairfield location, whose parking lot gets filled up quickly and their service is indifferent and off. At this location, you can actually score Ann Taylor, Calvin Klein, Talbots, and other higher-end designers, and they're actually in new condition. My only caveat is the checkout. They have a discount card, but when you sign up you're not allowed to use it THAT day, as you're in the system in 3 days. And the cashiers can be a little gruff. read more

This is a store I go to, two days a week. The prices for clothes is ridiculous...$9.99 for a second hand sweater? I purchased a camcorder this year for $3.00, it didn't work, so I went to get my money back...Heck, $3 is $3 now a days. Got store credit. The worst! First you can't look at any of the new stuff that comes out because there's two women who spend all day there and aggressively block anyone from looking at the new carts. The manager facilitates them and does nothing to stop their craziness. Second, you can't look at any of the things that are on "sale" (the color advertised in the window) because the employees are pulling it all of the racks and if you look at the collection of things on the movable rack, you get scolded. There were overflowing of donations from being quarantined for months. I was disappointed, their prices were very high. I can buy brand new from Marshall's or HomeGoods for the prices they tag their items. I find this Goodwill branch priced unreasonably for selling only donated goods. I just moved in the area and decided to stop by. After waiting more than 20 minutes to try stuff on, 5 minutes in fitting room the attendance knocked ... no slammed at my door so hard. I politely said "I just got in" she then started talking I needed to hurry up to get the line moving meanwhile the lady waiting for her daughter in the other room which were there 10 minutes before me was still there. She was so nasty and disrespectful. She went To get her boss because I was nasty. No! I was just being harassed, profiled and discriminated. Two women before me where there more than 40 minutes with lost of items and coming back and forth with more, and she did not say anything. Then she lied saying she knocked at everyone's. I came here for the first time - my local Goodwill is in Fairfield (and I really like that location) but I was in town and decided to pop in as it was on my way home. The person who prices things here obviously forgot that this is a Goodwill shop. In the 10 mins I was in there browsing, I found a china tea set (modern) with chips in it for $99. I love going to this store! There is always a wonderful treasure inside and it is easy to find what you are looking for since the store was reorganized. Many of the staff are from the disabled community and they always have a smile for you and work hard. Matchbox cars are over $3.50 when you can buy new ones for $1.29? CD-ROM games same price as others? Decorative items with wear don't seem to price accordingly either - so it's harder to just say it's only $4 so what the heck. Still it's fun to browse and hope for a find. read more
