I can't speak to what they have for sale inside--because I've never shopped here--but I can tell you the donation center has some of the friendliest people around. I just left the donation drive-thru, and the NICEST gentleman helped me unload. He greeted me with a warm smile and treated me with genuine kindness and respect. As soon as I saw him, I realized I've interacted with him before--I've donated here many times, sometimes with a car completely packed full--and he's always gone out of his way to help. Honestly, he's the friendliest and most helpful donation center worker I've ever met. I wish I'd gotten his name so I could shout him out properly. But if you're a young African American man working the drive-thru around 10 a.m. on 6/2/25--know this: you made my day, and you are absolutely top-tier in my book. Huge kudos to you! read more

This Goodwill location is full of a large variety of items. It is organized well and the sections are easy to navigate. The staff is friendly and helpful which I appreciate. I definitely recommend coming to this location to find some great items. read more

This specific goodwill used to be one of my favorites because i felt as though their prices were reasonable for the items. In the past couple years, i do feel like the prices have increased which is frusterating. Despite this though, I do still enjoy coming in case they have any great deals! This goodwill usually does have nicer name brand clothes and less of the clothes with stains/ rips on them. They have dressing rooms which are clean and easy to access. The only thing i will note is, the rack outside of the dressing room was full with clothes that did not work for people. I barely was able to fit mine on. Besides that, this is a pretty decent goodwill! read more

This Goodwill is more organized than many I've visited. It was clean except for the bathrooms. A couple things I looked at did not have prices and I didn't want the hassle of asking, so I didn't put them in my cart. Prices were too high in my opinion and not consistent. One flower pot was $5 and one similar was $3 and another $7. Makes no sense. read more

I noticed most of these reviews are fairly old, I would encourage people to give it another try. My little one is having a hot cocoa bar for her birthday and I am gifting everyone with mugs that I design. I wanted to upscale so thrifting was where I started. I feel like this location is very clean and open. There are no funky smells and the cashiers are very polite and friendly. Prices were very low especially compared to other thrift stores in JOCO. We not only found pristine white coffee mugs they were only .69 cents. We have also been on the hunt for heavy cocktail glasses and have bombed everywhere or they are ridiculous in price. Not here, we found those too. All in all we got 16 pieces of glassware/mugs and of course a shirt my daughter begged to have for a total of $12. read more

Absolutely the worst Goodwill I've ever been to. Prices are insanely high, there are always extremely long lines, it's filthy (both the store and the merchandise), and it's overly difficult to donate items. You're better off going anywhere else. read more

Dang. This is a large store that clearly has a high inventory turnover. In spite of conditions that could be described as "ravaged," the staff members were cheery and welcoming while attempting to set out new inventory. We found treasures in the households and clothing sections, and there was a reasonable selection of furniture. Watch out for pickers, there were several blocking aisles while we were there. This place is organized enough​ but doesn't really have a very good selection. Maybe there's a secret, like going on a certain day or at a certain time, but this isn't close to me, so it's not really worth the drive. They have cleaned up and "reorganized" this Goodwill. Nicer appearance. However, take for example men's clothing. If I want to search for pants, I used to be able to go in and search the rack for my specific waist size. Now they have decided to combine numerical sizes into S,M,L,XL etc. Makes it a little more difficult to find a specific size. Also, last night, we were purchasing a craft item that was a small decorated milk crate looking wooden basket with four decorated Mason jars. It was obvious it was a set. Had to have been donated that way. Went to pay for it, and they rang up the price on the bottom of the basket, but imagine our surprise when she started pulling out each Mason jar and ringing them up individually. Are you kidding me? This is obviously A SET THAT CAME IN TOGETHER AS ONE THING! And this isn't the only thing they do this with. They'll have a surround sound system that goes together, but they'll price the receiver, then each speaker individually. Get your act together and use some common sense. Stop trying to price gouge people. Get back to your roots and remember why Goodwill stores were started in the first place: to give those with lesser incomes a place to buy things and are affordable to their incomes. read more

I don't mind the actual store, but the employees.... oh my... LOUDLY yelling how much they are tired of working, want to go home ext... One time I had a temp card and it didn't work so while I was getting cash out to pay the cashier loudly over and over said "IT WONT CHANGE YOUR ACCOUNT IS NEGITIVE" got on the intercom stating my card was "Negative" and needed help like... what...? How embarrassing. One lady I refuse to go through her check out lane because she asks where I work every time in a judging tone. One time she ask me are YOU going to wear THIS?! I came here to complain about the rude customers that shop here. Some of the reviews on here did not disappoint me. This Goodwill particularly, actually hires people with disabilities, unlike some of the other Goodwill's in the area. Because this Goodwill hires people with disabilities, yes, it takes a little bit longer to get through the line at the cash register or the donation drop off. If you want to be impatient and rude, you can go to another Goodwill in the area or another thrift store all together. I started coming to this location when they fist opened. This Goodwill was pretty fun to come to at first. The employees would bring out racks and carts every hour and they would allow you to dig through the carts and racks. You could find some amazing items here before. I found a beautiful framed John Lennon poster here and I paid .99 cents for it. This place went to crap when FOX News 4 did a segment on this particular Goodwill soon after it opened. After the segment aired, this place started flooding with people the re-sell goods online, such as Ebay and similar sites. Some of the prices at this location is ridiculous. They'll mark up any NWT items, or mark any crappy Vera Bradley purse $19.99 (holes and everything). They take out the fun of finding a bargain. Some of the customers that shop here are straight up rude and entitled. I've had people from the other side of the clothing rack, reach over to the other side of the clothing rack, that I'm look at, and grab clothing before I can look at it. I've also dealt with people having multiple carts piled up with stuff and they'll purposely block off entire rows with their carts so other shoppers can't look. read more

Wow I was shocked. Even a well worn/scuffed pair of off season name brand Sandals were $15. I could have bought them new on clearance at Kohl's so buyer beware. The staff wasn't extremely friendly so I found no reason to actually want to return. I'll check back again and if I find any redeeming quality I'll update my review. I recently moved from Indiana, where I shop Goodwill ALL the time. I usually get used, name brand clothing for a fraction of the price. So I was stunned by the dirty, disorganized Goodwills out here in KC. I guess if you're wanting a second hand store that won't make you queasy, you should go to Savers. Oh my gosh the attitude at this place is horrible ! I've been sitting in line for 20 minutes there are only 3 cars in front of me . I came by yesterday on Sunday but there were 8 cars in front of me. The drop off today had a line of over 16 cars. The attendants removing things from the car were working at a snails pace when the guests finally got to the garage to unload, were frustrated with the length of time so they all unloaded very quickly with little care just so we could get done. It was extremely frustrating that in trying to be kind and help the community it took way longer than it should and left me very angry. read more

I've been going to Goodwills for a while just to see what kind of random items/gems that I can come across and had some high hopes for this one considering it's located in a nice part of S.Johnson County. I thought there would be some quality stuff that gets donated there. Mainly interested in dress shirts/Blazers and ended up very disappointed after my visits. They had maybe at most like 10 Blazers and the shirt selection was abysmal. Didn't really spot a quality at all and on top of that, everything was organised in a poor manner as anything that a male could wear (non t shirt) was considered a Shirt so going thru the racks was not fun. Not for sure what happened but you walk in the door the last 2 weeks and there is a smell to it . The quality of clothes are awful Stains and holes . Prices are all going up but quality going down . Something did not have a price tag on it so I went to ask an employee if they knew the price of it. This Employees name was Vanessa, she was very rude and blatant about telling me how I needed to ask someone else because she had other work she needed to do. I was surprised to see the other 1 and 2 star reviews. Goodwill overall has almost doubled their pricing structure over the last few years, but they have a half price color tag sale each week and this location receives some pretty nice donations being situated in the heart of Johnson County. Large selection of clothing, books, shoes, games, electronics, knick-knacks, household and other misc. items. I found a $1000 in Hummels for under $10 one day (and only 2 pieces; 1 was $700 and 1 was $300). Granted that is way outside the norm and I knew what I was looking at, but I have never shopped here and left empty handed or disappointed. Botom line: worth your time :) read more

Good thing I had nothing to do afterwards which made me patient, and my child was asleep or else I probably would have left. I don't normally have a problem here but left extremely irritated today. I hadn't been there in months and when I found a side table I grabbed the wrong part of the tag. The part that said "customer copy" because I noticed other people taking that part. I get up front and am rudely told "I can't sell you that" instead of maybe saying "I'm sorry ma'am you grabbed the wrong part of the tag do you want to go see if the other part is there?" Anyway I resolve that issue she calls back for someone to bring it up front. I wait 20 min and nobody does, so I go back there to find help and the only person I see is moving something for someone who has not yet purchased it, so I try and see if I can carry it and the kid looks at me funny so I tell him I've been waiting 20 min for this to be brought up front. He just walks away. The right thing to have done would have been to apologize and offer to help in just a minute. I drag it up front with customers all looking at me funny and no workers anywhere who care. Thanks for that quality service today! read more

Checkout can be very slow. There has to be a better way to check out. They scan 1 item. Put scanner down. Put item in bag. Pick up scanner. Scan next item and so forth. If the cashiers had some sort of work space or organization they could check you out in half the time. Also make people take their stuff off hangers and if you can't find a price tag ask someone on the floor instead of holding the line up. Where are the managers they call for? In Missouri? Why can't a manager always be near the check outs? why cant a cashier put a price tag on something? it's all the same price for each category. Also the floors have not been washed in years. I see a lot of critical reviews, yet I don't completely understand why. I can always find some secret awesome find here. I have heard people complain that the prices went up. So ridiculous. We are getting choice Overland Park items!!! Stop all the whining. I frequently visit on Tuesday, which is senior citizen and military discount day. There's always a group of snooty women gossiping about the employees and the manager. I have overheard a lot of their conversations and I find their behavior appalling. Who has time for that much pettiness?? I have spoken to Kari the manager several times and she's always pleasant and upbeat. She goes out of her way to say hi and she's always running from one end of the store to the other. She is there ALL the time, so obviously she's invested. Gloria is also one of the friendliest employees! She always greets me and is so nice and helpful. The store is going through a remodel and I am excited about the new look. With a fresh new store, hopefully everyone can have something positive to say. There are a couple Debbie Downer employees, but what place doesn't have those? Anyway, I think the store has made some great improvements over the last year, so hopefully they continue to move forward. This is my favorite Goodwill in the KC area!! read more
