Store is very small, not much selections, they literally have 3 mini aisles of clothes, a tiny corner of electronics and household appliances, and they definitely aren't as cheap as they used to be. Customer service is nearly non existant, they don't really like to have small talk with you, and they constantly look at you as if you're going to shoplift a 3 aisle store. I guess the pros are finding hidden gems, or if i desperately need cheaper household appliances like lamps, lights or microwaves, but other than that i'd drive to a different location. read more

Glad Goodwill is back in town. Old timer thriftstore folks might recall Mira Mesa had a goodwill a few years back, near the old Thrifty's... This joint isn't much bigger than the old one. It's clean, organized and the selection is not to bad. Once again, when it comes to thrift stores, you have to love the hunt. I have found some cool stuff at this location. Happy hunting! read more

If you live close by, this place is worth the little discount every so often. I mean, item selection changes quite a bit and there are deals to be made. The jewlery section has quite a few nice trinkets and a wide variety of the clothing doesnt't have too much wear and tear. The employees there are also super nice and i can't say anything bad set aside from the fact that it gets a little crowded (but that's no a bad thing really if you think about it). Well I came here to see what do Goodwill do with all the things everyone Donates to Goodwill. Well I can see there was lots of different types of things here . But I Noticed that the Things they got here were in so so Condition. Also I noticed there were Hats that looked really used up . I would think they would look through all the things that is Donated to make sure it is in Selling Condition. But I noticed also there were clothes with stains on there . Wow !!! If it is not in sellable Condition then just Donate it for free to someone who needs it !! Not sell it in that Condition !!! But you will sometimes find some good stuff here if you look around in the store but make sure you look Throughly and check to see if it is in Good Condition !! This Store is Located next to Big 5 Sporting Goods across from the Soupplantion in Mira Mesa . Overall I shall return to see if there is anything I could find or Score here in Good Condition !!! read more

Today I was at this Goodwill and saw an older fillipino man who works there be really rude to a little boy who was sitting in one of the chairs There. Regardless of the reason this little boy was sitting there, resting, trying out the chair, etc. This man had no right to belittle the boy. His mother was nearby and not like she was off somewhere . It made me angry and totally turned me OFF to this Goodwill forever. I will also be telling everyone I know not to go there. There is no excuse for treating customers like that. This store clearly needs to hire better quality staff. I for one am discusted by the way he treated that little boy. read more

I just stopped by with my sister & daughter about less than an hour ago and I've never dealt with EXTREMELY RUDE EMPLOYEES. Started off with some old lady with brown short hair saying I can't use an outside cart to place my toddler in because it's not from their store (yet it was right outside of the entrance) so I asked if there was any other cart I can use & rudely yelled "NO". Afterwards, I was in one of the isles & that same old lady passes by & said "excuse you" which was so DISRESPECTFUL! (almost hitting my baby with the cart hanger). Not to long after , an old man employee told my toddler (go with your mom!) even though she was only 5 feet away looking at some toys. That's when I had it , payed for our things & left! Never coming back again! Goodwill should definitely remove those rude employees. The only nice/helpful employee was the young girl on the register when we left. read more

Purchased a serving tray Sat at 2:54 for my mom from Goodwill at her request. As I left I asked at the counter the return policy and was told 3 days. My mom did not like the serving tray so I went back today (Sun) to return it. At 3:50 I walked to the counter and stated that, "I would like to return this tray" and this gets interesting here, the counter attendant looks at the serving tray and the receipt and than at the serving tray again and states, " This looks used", I looked at her and said, "You can't be serious, of course it is used, I purchased it here, the Goodwill Store, you know, the second hand store." She was bewildered and looked at the attendant next to her, she walks over and states, "Return policy is that no cash refund, only exchanges." I stated "Okay, unfortunately I do not have time right now to shop for an exchange item, can I have a voucher for my next visit, like tomorrow." The attendants, now we have two collaborating on an answer state, "No voucher available, you only have 24 hours to exchange from purchase date and time. Oh wait, you purchased this at 2:54 yesterday, I'm sorry, your time for exchange ended 1 hour ago, it is 3:54, so sorry" LOL, what a joke, I just left the server tray on thier counter and told them "you two are too much." read more

Visited this location to donate used clothes and the staff was very friendly. They took my donated items off of my hands quickly and got started on the Goodwill Donation Receipt while I got to walk around the store. There truly are some hidden gems at this location. Since the store is well maintained, it makes it easy to find classic vintage pieces. Everything in the store is clearly marked so you shouldn't have any trouble guessing how much you'll be paying once you reach the register. I haven't bought anything from the store just yet because I was in a hurry my first visit there, but I'll be sure to check them out again. read more

I checked out their website before I left my house in which I was moving out of, The website said that donations are taken in front of the store if it's after 6 PM. I had everything categorized from books to shoes to kitchenware. I took 30 minutes driving here and they said that they no longer take donations after 6 PM. What a waste of time!! read more

I really like this Goodwill location. It is smaller than others I've seen, but had a pretty good selection of items that are displayed neatly. The people working here have always even very friendly and offer to help the best they can. I found a gorgeous pink gown I was able to use for a Halloween costume and a nice gently used coat. I saw a gentleman walk out of this goodwill with brand new Nike running shoes with the tags still attached. Wow! Go make Macklemore proud. read more

One man's trash is another man's come up... Riiiight? Thrift stores are always a hit or miss, depending on when you go & its location. You might not find what you're looking for, but you might end up buying a bunch of random things you didn't need... but bought anyway! I live close by this location, so I stop by occasionally just to see what's new. This location is definitely not as big as other Goodwills I have been to, but it's sufficient for what it is. The staff here are friendly and usually greet you when you walk in the door. The aisles are small but they are cleaner than the typical thrift shop! They have a decent amount of everything, but there is a large selection of jeans and random house goodies.. so if you're looking for those things, try to stop by here! This place has pretty inexpensive prices and there are a lot of brand name clothing for cheap. Plus, if you have a student, military, or senior ID, you can't complain about the 10% off discount given on top of the cheap pricing! read more

This location is a bit small, but you can still find some treasures. If you are looking for some furniture, you probably won't find it here because it's so small. The staff are friendly and the store is clean. Parking isn't an issue because there is a big parking lot. I would recommend going to the Rancho Bernardo location if you are really looking for larger items. All in all, this place isn't bad if you are bargain hunting. read more

I love going to the Goodwill store in Mira MESA. They have good stuff, always find great deals. The employees are friendly and helpful, specially Rudolph(Ruddy).I recently purchased a large artificial plant from there, and as i was carrying it out, he stopped what he was doing and volunteered to help me take it to my car!!That was really sweet of him! read more

Unless you live/work nearby and can hit this on the way , don't bother. Smallest location in the county and equally painful distances from the 15 and the 805, and the place was packed with people poring over piles of nothing. Maybe it's irrelevent to the review but since there's a Smart and Final next door (where I do much of my grocery shopping, you can't beat their everyday prices) and I stopped in for a few things the long trip fighting traffic into the center of suburbia was not a total waste. read more

I have been wanting to check this location out for a while and made it today. The staff was super friendly and helpful. And they had a great selection of items even a whole case of designer denim, citizens ans true religion to name a few. All items were in really good condition not just a bunch of crap like most thrift stores. I will definitely go back to see what hidden gem I find next time. read more

Best little store in the west, Thift Store that is! GREAT SYNergy between staff members, attentive-service, clean new items, newly put out items, very often. In my opinion, this place gets my attention for one reason. The type of trash that people throw away is insane!! I often come here just testing my luck, and I find very nice furniture. There's also some rare clothes you can't find nowadays that date backs to the 80s. Whatever I find here it's worthwhile to dig through things. It's every man for himself when you're in this store. This is actually one of the smaller thrift store/Good will stores I've been to. The people that work here are nice and helpful. The racks and shelves are fairly organized. The prices aren't so bad and the racks are pretty easy to sift through. I will say that it's interesting to have the newly sorted clothes brought out and just left in the middle of the store. They employees shout out that there's "new" clothing that they're bringing out. My friend and I were there for a little bit and there was one lady that brought out a few racks. She never put them out on the actual racks on the floor and she just left it out for customers to go through. Not bad if you want to go through it pretty quick, but bad if you want to manovour through the isles. The isles are pretty cramped already so having these extra racks in the way can be a bit bothersome for people (employees and customers alike) to walk around. The donations here aren't bad and you can find some decent pieces of clothes if you're willing to sift through everything. A nice store to stop and look through. read more

The store is just way too small. I don't care much about close and that's mostly what this goodwill has. I care more about electronics, sporting goods, etc. This place might be worth it if you're into clothes, but that's about it. read more

I love this store and location. The store is very well maintained and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I have found a lot of great things here. Including new things that have not yet been worn or open. I needed a baby bottle cleaner and found it here brand new for 4.99. If I would have went to target it would have easily cost me 30 bucks. Lack of service when we want to try on clothes they were busy talking to other workers me and my friend were mad we are waiting for 5 minutes just for one of them to open the door for us they should be fired and get people that really cares about their jobs read more

The Goodwill on Mira Mesa is perhaps one of the best thrift stores I have ever been to. The store is extremely clean and organized in just about every category imaginable. Unlike other Goodwill Thrift Stores there is no inherit musty smell so I assume that the clothes are steamed like that at a department store instead of just placed on a hanger straight from the donation bin. The staff is very helpful and there is always staff available that speak Spanish and Tagalog. I enjoy just swinging by and seeing what I might find. From my handful of visits I have managed to find Banana Republic, Jones New York, and Anne Klein dress slacks and jackets, some with the tags still on them. There are always a vast amount of home decor items and dish ware all categorized by color. There are discounts given to senior citizens, students, and military personnel. Unfortunately, there are little to no items for children such as clothing and toys. This thrift store has become a regular little spot to check out and see what items can be found. read more

I've been to most Goodwill stores in San Diego and by far this location is by far the best I've been to. By all means , I always find name brands in good condition for it being a secondhand clothing and sometimes clothing/shoes with a tag attached to it still. I recommend going first thing in the morning like all thrift stores as it does get crowded unless you have patience for that. read more

I like this store and the employees are nice but I have one major issue with this place. I was there yesterday and tried on a dress. When I entered the dressing room I looked out and noticed that the surveillance cameras that are on the ceiling over the registers could have a perfect full-body view of anyone changing in the dressing rooms. I asked the manager about this and he said that they have had this issue raised before by customers but he said that the cameras are not pointed toward the dressing room. Um, this is beside the point. I worked retail for 15 years and I know that probably around 80% of "surveillance cameras" aren't even hooked up. They are just placed around to deter shoplifters and employee theft. Most places (especially Goodwill) don't have the budget to employee someone to sit around all day and watch videotape. But when a person is in a dressing room they trust that they are not in the line of sight of a videocamera. I told the manager that if it was my store I would move the cameras because I wouldn't want people to feel like they were possibly being videotaped in the dressing room. He tried to tell me that they weren't even cameras, that they are fire alarms or some BS. Then he said, our cameras are over there and he started to point to another camera in the corner then stopped when he realized that it looked exactly like the "fire alarms." Yes, nice try but I know the difference between a surveillance camera and a fire alarm. Anyway, he said they can't redo the cameras just because they could possibly have a view inside the dressing rooms (Um, well you should!) Since I obviously wasn't satisfied simply by this random dude's assurance that the cameras don't videotape inside the dressing rooms, he gave me the contact info for the San Diego Goodwill comment line. I am calling them tomorrow. If you would like to call or email them as well here is the info: (888) 446-6394 email: info@sdgoodwill.org In the meantime, until they decide to move the cameras, I suggest if you are a modest person who doesn't feel comfortable stripping down in front of a camera operated by Goodwill employees who simply promise that they aren't filming you then go right ahead.
