I been coming to this good will on and off since 2017. Its in Rancho Bernardo California on poway rd. The staff are always professional and polite. Welcome you as you come in. For a second hand store its a really nice one . Its price do to the area its in. I found some good deals there. Tge have almost every thing. Got a fan that clips on a seat for 4 dollars. Have a good selection of short shirts and pants . Lots of cds and dad's. Stuff animals. Lots of ladies clothing shoes . They do take donations. Highly recommend them and I will be back. This is the cleanest, most organized, and virtually odorless Goodwill I've ever been to. Everything is displayed with care and the associates are nice and helpful. The store is relatively small, but packed with plenty of items. The items appeared to be priced fairly. Many of the cloothing, shoes and appliances looked to be in excellent used condition. The donation drop off was super quick. If you're looking for a higher end thrift store, I recommend this one. read more

I am shocked at what I just had to witness today. Went to go donate lots of household appliances, dishes, and glassware. All of the glassware was wrapped up nicely in boxes and handed to the guy who was handling the donations today. However he didn't just set them nicely in the bins no turned them upside down and dumped them into the big bin! I stood there shocked watching and listening to them SHATTERING as they drop into the bin. Made me feel like I was an inconvenience for just wanting to donate. Isnt that the purpose of donating? So people can reuse my items instead of junking? but by the way he just handled our stuff today makes me feel like we should have just junked ! Why did I take the time to carefully wrap and load my delicate glassware into a box if he was going to handle them like that...this is unacceptable! read more

This Goodwill is extremely organized and they make such fun end displays either by a theme or color. The store and their donations are definitely well cared for. I always have a pleasant time shopping here and have been quite lucky with shoes every time I've gone. As in most thrift stores, it hit or miss but I seem to always have great hits here. read more

Goodwill San Marcos's boutique is amazing. They even have Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, and European clothiers on their rounders and racks. This hot spot for fine clothes, casual garb and hats and purses and shoes gets my A+ rating! Open everyday...check it out guys and gals. read more

Please note this review is based on my experience with the donation drop off process. Staff seem to always be cheery, even when it is cold and sprinkling like today. They have tarps to cover the bins so the items don't get wet. The place is fast and efficient. Only time I have really experienced any kind of wait is when the car(s) in front of me have a ton of things they are donating. Other than that it's pretty quick. read more

The drive thru drop off is absolutely sad! The people outside are rude and destructive! They don't handle things with any care, I brought some toy donations and the guy said "what's in this?" I said toy donations, he just threw the box like it was a ball to one of the bins, he missed, the box broke open and all the toys fell out of the box onto the concrete, some even broke! Driving away I watched the two guys then throw the broken toys on the floor into the donate bin.. read more

This store is fantastic! I have never seen people work so hard. I just went today and ended up purchasing an electric piano. The store manager (Austin) and (Ramone) who I regularly see as I donate things myself are so professional and nice!! Ramone works exceptionally hard and has the drop off area so organized it would make your head spin. The store manager is a great sales person and all around pleasant person to deal with. They both helped load an electric piano in the back end of my car after purchase. The cashiers I have dealt with also have been pleasant and personable and professional. This Goodwill is a first rate store and priced reasonably. 5 star all the way, I would give more but 5 is the highest. read more

This store is small and racks are jammed packed with clothes and aisles are tight. I did find some items but honestly paying $8-10 each is high I get better deals at The Rock Thrift. This store has a bunch of annoying teens playing around the store. read more

Seriously?! I love thrift stores, vintage stores and estate sales. I have found some great buys at Goodwill. However, this location is over priced. It's not like they have anything different. Whether designer or not! It's USED! When I was ready to pay I asked the cashier about the prices. She started talking about inflation and not being able to keep employees and blah blah blah. The whole time I was thinking "This is all free stuff you are getting" charging $29.99 for a jacket that has Free People written on it means nothing to me. Marshalls has Free People and it would probably be the same price. I did find a belt. My belt was 7.99. I got home and noticed it was faded in one spot. Oh and the employees seemed a little too uptight. This lady was pushing her way through saying "Excuse me! Excuse me!" I have a job to do because all these kids are messing things up...Then another employee on the next aisle was telling a kid to move out of her way. Idk! There are much better locations read more

A joke of a store. Overpriced items and their donation process is horrendous. They won't accept anything but somehow have the ugliest clothes and most worn things in store. Inside the store is always a mess with clothes all over the floor and hangers just thrown on racks. Most employees/volunteers here are old and rude. Don't work here if you have 0 customer service. Not to mention their donation "drop off" area is a wreck and extremely annoying to maneuver around. The location is in a decent area but that's probably the only plus. read more

I live here so ive come here a few times but it's just too overpriced here. Yesterday, i saw something in new packing that they priced at $4, but the tag from its original store said $3. So why is it costing more at the thrift store? I also saw Christmas wreaths for $20 but can find brand new wreaths in stores for $20! If they sold their things for half the price, more people would end up taking things home. Its nice they do student/military discount, & they have a great selection of house things, but i just wish they were prices better. read more

Moslty a miss for me. This Goodwill is overpriced for what it offers and its location. RB mostly hosts retirees plus young families. With the current inflation I feel prices should be accommodated to its community. I do not like the set up and the way items are displayed. This is the most delusional goodwill in all of San Diego County. I've seen Goodwill's pricing as a whole get more expensive but this location is... laughable. Their inventory and location is not any more "upscale" than every thrift store in the same area, yet they consistently price used items like you're shopping at a consignment store by the beach. $40 for peeling faux leather jackets. $20 for men's jeans with loose stitching. $10 for a bundle of 2 used bath towels and 2 wash cloths. The aisles are so incredibly tiny that it's actually physically impossible for more than a single cart to go down the aisle. If you're trying to browse a rack and another customer walks down the aisle with a cart you have to literally shove yourself into hangers and unwashed clothing so they can brush against you to get by. This is the only thrift store in all of San Diego that I would tell someone to skip. It's absolutely not worth your time. read more

This is a great store. Really well-run, clean, and always fun to explore. I never really graduated from DVDs, so I've always enjoyed their secondhand movies at $3/per. You also find a lot of really cool artwork here. A bunch of stuff displayed in my house came from this Goodwill. It's a shame the pandemic shut things down for a while because I think several of their employees had to move on to other opportunities. Anthony and Kat were always great and made visiting here a pleasure. Love this place. read more

There are a number of places to donate or purchase a variety of items. Goodwill in Rancho Bernardo is in a former bank that offers to either take things off your hands or temp you to purchase something else. The staff is dedicated. I have seen many of them over several years. Interesting how they actually are more professional than those at a traditional retail store. What's the difference? Personality! There is plenty. Plenty of color coordinated items too! What are you looking for? I can assure you they might have it. Hot items that are donated at the back door can often be quickly processed and placed on the floor in the blue tubs. I have found a number of fun treasures. Some good. Will it be your place? Generally this Goodwill outlet is useful. However, we've found that they frequently will refuse to take things that other Goodwill outlets (such as Escondido) will take. We had a nice Teak coffee table that RB refused, and Escondido accepted (and said "how nice!). RB won't take anything out of the bed of my truck, Escondido will. Take a hike RB or change your policies. read more

Just awful customer service. I'm a frequent shopper of Goodwill, and I will NEVER return to this location. I was denied a return with a receipt explicitly stating that returns are accepted from "any Goodwill Southern California location within sixty days". The cashier rudely told me, repeatedly, that I was trying to make a return from the state of Florida (entirely untrue, didn't even read my receipt) and the manager was equally as rude with no apology as to why they mysteriously could not accept my legitimate return. Even if the policy WERE to accept no returns, although you can clearly see by the website and receipt that it isn't, the matter was handled unprofessionally. This is my favorite Goodwill in the area. I really go there for retail therapy more than anything, but I always seem to find something I didn't know I couldn't live without. I am a shameful clothes hoarder. I have the worst time getting rid of clothing mostly because I attach emotional bonds with each item. "Wait I can't give away those short shorts I wore five years ago and now can't fit one leg in... They were worn on that lovely Vegas trip I had where I threw up in the Bellagio fountain!" "How dare you suggest these tank tops that are no longer long enough to cover my tummy should be given away? I remember wearing these during that summer I got into pottery and made that paperweight my mom LOVES so much that she won't even put it out for fear it'll break!" In an effort to be less of hoarder and to hopefully do a little good I have been letting go of my clothing obsession and bagging up untold amounts. I was putting off actually going to donate because I wasn't looking forward to hassle. No hassle here. You just drive up and you are done. The guy who helped me was quick and got me on my way in less than five mins. The store itself is way friendly. I was greeted when I came in and later even offered help. This is not your usual Goodwill, this is a very posh one! Many brands, from Calvin Klein to BCBG to Max Mara, tons of clothes very well organized by colors, sizes and even patterns. Mostly clothes and household items. I was impressed to see the tags of some items still there (some $100 pieces out there) being sold for less than $20. Got an Ann Taylor top for just $3.99, almost new, silk. Also a cotton skirt, flirty and perfect fit for $10. Amazing opportunities there. Plus the store is veryl well maintained, clean, and nice staff. If you want the used stuff of some affluent folks of Rancho Bernardo...this is your place! read more

Everyone is genuinely greeted upon entering. Small but packet with amazing treasures! So well organized and displayed! Felt very roomy and comfortable inside. Lots to look at... so take your time! Don't go to this place. Today o lined up early in the morning and pick up some items which I asked them to put on holds as I left my wallet at home and I was on my morning walk. Sa. Told me she can hold for only an hour which is fine since I live very close to the store. Knowing that they can only hold it for an hour I rush he to get my car an my wallet. When I come back there was a line so I called the store and I asked if I can just pick the items I put on hold. Sam answered the phone and she said she will let me in as soon as one person left the store. Sure I'm enough a few minutes later one person left and they let another person in which was first in line. I called the store and John the manager answered and he said he will see what he can do. Then Sam came to tell me that I will have to wait in line again since there's many people currently in waiting. I told her that's no t fair as I waited inline earlier myself and I was told that the items I put on hold can only be saved for an hour. So I fall inline that means the 1 hour hold time will be over. I left an I told her it's not fair. I come to this location every day and support the mission and values of goodwill. However, after this incident I will never buy anything from goodwill ever again. So I urge all of you to stop supporting this goodwill. If they cannot even comply with their own rules. read more

This is a pretty nice little Goodwill! I tend to find something I like almost every time I come here. Goodwills do tend to be a little more expensive than other thrift stores, but the overall quality of items are better, too. The employees at this location are welcoming and friendly. The last time we we were here, the line was getting a bit long ... so while the cashier was working on a purchase, the manager was getting everything ready for the next one coming up. We come by every once in a while and always a great experience. Its small but the people that work here are great. Today we walked around to kill some time and ended up buying a few things. Throughout our visit we were asked by several employees if we needed any help. Even the Manager was helpful. The manager even helped us load something up. Darlene was great, she rung me up and Guadalupe also was great with excellent customer service. There were a couple more that were also great but I wasn't able to get their names. Decided to drop by here after running an errand to try my luck on finding a particular book I'd been hunting for (I love finding hardcovers for ridiculously low prices without having to pay for shipping). After walking in, I took one look around and almost went back outside to check to make sure I'd entered the right store. This is the cutest, cleanest, most well kept Goodwill I've ever seen! It's certainly not the biggest one, but has a very nice and functional flow to each of the sections. It's well organized and didn't smell like funk. They have a lot of clothing that still have the original price tags and many of them are well known brands! I complimented the store manager on the generally nice atmosphere, paid for my item and walked out with the book I had been looking for. A dollar ninty-nine well spent, I'd say. read more

This review is specifically for the donation drive-thru. I would say this location is the worst one to donate at as just dropping off goods is very slow. On average it can take anywhere from 10-15 mins to drop off on a Saturday. They are also very picky with the items they accept. I was once denied for a 3 year old PC so I ended up just going to a different location such as Mira Mesa or the Salvation Army. They gladly accepted and were very appreciative. read more
