Went yesterday with my teenage daughters and the prices were outrageous, $9.99 to 14.99 for used clothes unless they are designer is crazy!!! They had a few bikes that they had marked at $199.99, who comes thrifting to buy a $200 bike??? Smelly shoes at face level the entire time is off-putting, yuck! Dressing rooms were backed up forever and staff was constantly running around hanging items but I had to watch out because apparently I was in their way. Not going back. read more

What an amazing Goodwill location. This Goodwill looks like a cross between a beach house & a log cabin. By the looks of it I would guess this Goodwill used to be a library it just has that look. I happened to be in the area of this Goodwill and had some time before a meeting and figured I would stop in and take a look to see what hidden gems I could find. This Goodwill has a large private parking lot so parking should never be an issue even during peak times, not sure what peak times for Goodwill happens to be=) I walked inside of this location and was pleasantly surprised to find a large selection of clothing, art, sporting goods, furniture and electronics all of which that looked brand new. A majority of the clothing that I looked at still had the original Department Store tags on. I found the staff working during my visit to be extremely pleasant. I have found over the years that finding Goodwill locations in 'fancy' areas and you will be rewarded and this Goodwill is no different. I was able to pick up a few things for my garage that I have needed for storage and would of picked up an amazing mirror that was on display if I could of figured out a way to transport it from Poway to Los Angeles. My friend was trying to see the size on a pair of shoes and the lady with flaming red hair rudely said I'm helping someone else it'll be a minute!! Oh. You fancy. This GW is new to the area. It moved in where what looks like a bank once resided. The store is clean, bright, small-ish, but well organized. They do a good job of utilizing the space that they have, so there is a surprising amount of stuff inside. There isn't much room for furniture, or large exercise equipment/sporting goods. Okay, folks...been meaning to write this for a long time! I've been a thrift store shopper for most of my adult life, and that's a long time...haha. Since I live right here in Rancho Bernardo I've been pretty much a regular since the first week it opened. Despite being on the smaller size compared to other Goodwill stores I've been to over the years, this one gets the Gold Star for friendliness, cleanliness and over all good vibes. This store has consistently had the friendliest staff from top to bottom since it opened. Not only are they genuine and helpful, they'll engage you in conversation and really make you feel at home. This is the kind of ambiance that is lacking in most businesses today. While the merchandise is hit or miss, that's to be expected of donated goods, and the pricing for the most part seems fair, though there have been a few times I've rolled my eyes at some things. Another plus is the Employment Services office that is also on the premises. Aurora Toledo is the professional who helps folks with their employment search. She works hard to find a match for you and her optimistic attitude is contagious and welcome. Indeed whenever you walk in the front door you're greeted with the now familiar "Welcome to Goodwill"by a smiling staff person. Though it may come across as a perfunctory effort, rest assured these folks are genuine and do care about your experience. The only downside to this location is that it's size is such that they don't have much space for furnishings and larger items, but it's more than made up for by the over all experience. Please don't change. As for the lone one star reviewer, clearly you were having a bad day and needed to get back to Michigan where surely the customer service is far superior...NOT. read more

This location is a gem! This is the best Goodwill I've been to in SoCal thus far. The variety and quality of items are incredible. The store is also very large so there are many areas and items to scrounge around in. There is a private parking lot so parking shouldn't be an issue. Clean, well designed location tipped me off that this would be a different thrift store experience. I was amazed that they attempted to welcome every customer as they entered. I liked the boutique area...which felt more like an upscale consignment store. Some items were a bit higher priced than I usually find, but the selection was also better than most. Best thrift shop in town for fashions popular with the preps, and local old people on golf courses. Decent book selection. This is definitely a fancier Goodwill. Because this is a suburban SoCal goodwill in a newer neighborhood it's a little too trendy for thrift shop fans who like collecting old stuff. Stuff is priced according to what brand name lovers prefer in comparison to most thrift shops because its not a down to earth neighborhood AT ALL. However, that means the well made stuff from brands less popular (think, less for trendy fashion collectors so more sturdy and classic) is even more underpriced than expected by thrift shop standards. They have some trippy hippieish costume jewelry from 1980 I think. The service is excellent. They have a convenient career center that is great for stopping by for help. If you love spending on designer without feeling guilty then stop by here for discount used high end stuff. One time I found a used Men's Armani accidentally not locked away here. Generally even their locked away stuff is just enough less high end than Armani to be preferred by clothes hoarders more generally. Seriously. This location is too expensive for poor people and cheapskates yet too underpriced to attract more of the fashionable people looking for fancy stuff. They really should price some of their stuff higher to make it more obvious its of a high quality. This location is too hip for me personally and could use better lighting. Also could use more books. Goodwill should invest in lighting more because I hear too many raves about the lighting which is not bright enough IMO. read more

This location has a decent selection and is well organized. I went looking for a small chest of drawers. The furniture is displayed outside at the entrance, so I found exactly what I was looking for before even going inside! The girl working the cash register was nice and asked me if I qualified for any discounts. (Military, over 65, student). Even though I do not qualify, I appreciate that she told me about them. I was able to round up my purchase and donate the difference to Goodwill. If you're looking for an item at an inexpensive price, this location is definitely worth checking out. read more

First of all, this is a fairly well off area so this goodwill location does have some valuable stuff in store regularly. On this visit, I got 3 skirts with the brands being J. Crew and LOFT, which are really good brands. My daughter got a $10 super cute purse from the GUESS brand. As far as the inventory, nothing but good things. Now let's talk about the customer service. First of all, we came in at around 7:20. As soon as we walked in, a short lady with glasses certainly didn't fail to let us know MULTIPLE TIMES that they were closing soon, which is fine but we had 40 WHOLE MINUTES to look around in the store, and trust me we weren't dilly dallying. We were hustling to look through what we wanted to see and then go on our merry way. However, she kept reminding us CONSTANTLY in a way that really came off as "the sooner people leave the better so I don't have to interact with people." Her excuse was "I have to clean the floors." Umm, do you want us to jump on a floating cloud or something so you can clean the spot under our feet?! Like you can still clean the floor while we are in there, it certainly wasn't packed at 7:40 pm. It was obvious that she wanted to get the hell out of there ASAP. This provides a hostile, bothersome environment for us.When checking out, my daughter asked for a student discount, but she didn't have her ID so she offered to show Catherine her grades. Catherine refused to take her grades, which is really concerning because wouldn't her straight A's portray SOME type of enrollment in school? It would be one thing if she just said that she was in school but didn't have any identification, but the evidence was RIGHT there on her phone. Oh wait,this isn't even the end of it.I offered my 2 CTA (California Teachers Association) cards.One showed 2019, and the other showed 21-22. SHE REFUSED TO TAKE IT!! Do you think I jus decided to opt out of teaching this year? She was purposely going out of her way to pester us. These 2 employees obviously don't make customer service their priority. I worked for GW many years ago and understand pricing of used and new items. But this GW is waaaaaaayyyyyyyyy overpriced, especially on "new" items. I.E. they had 3 packs of vacuum bags for the same price as any retail store. The clothing is also overpriced. The other stores in SD Cty have much better values. Avoid this store. read more

I've been here twice. Once during the week and once on the weekend (Sunday). During the week this store was practically empty. Staff was very polite and greeted everyone that walked in with "Hi, welcome to Goodwill!" Each time they received new arrivals everyone would shout "new arrivals." There was a person at the fitting rooms to attend to the customers. Overall, my experience the first time was beyond what I had expected. The second time was not as good. There were more people shopping. Employees were not greeting customers. The person that was in charge of the fitting room was hearing disabled and also placing things back on the shelf. Each time I needed a fitting room I would have to find an employee. One of the employees was a bit snappy with me when I inquired about a price for a book. This store is the best organized Goodwill I have ever seen, or thrift store for that matter (and I shop at a lot of thrift stores)! The prices on some of the clothes here are actually cheaper than Goodwills in Vista. The quality of merchandise is very good. Naturally, wealthy area=better donations. Let's be honest, wealthy people do not tend to shop at thrift stores; so even on Sunday the store was significantly less crowded than any Goodwill in the north county area would have been on the same day. Goodwill is becoming extremely difficult to deal with. They want things are easily put on display and sold. I tried to give them some stainless steel metal racks, they refused as the racks required some assembly. It's too bad. Salvation Army took the racks though. read more

Went in today for the first time - although I always drop off donations here, I have never been in. The store was super clean, tidy, and sorted by color. The staff is very friendly and super helpful. They keep that store so clean, one staff member must have sweeped by us with the broom about 5 times. There are fitting rooms to try clothes on as well. The store is open long hours - didn't realize they are open until 8pm on most nights until I checked. The quality of the items are higher end; I saw many name brand designers in stock. read more
