I saw an announcement for the grand opening of this furniture store in Mission Valley. I called and expressed my interest in buying a vintage looking couch in a bright raspberry-ish color. I know; that seemed like a stretch for the furniture stores here in SD. Paul assured me that his coworker Sandi had experience in both retro design and color, and that he'd be happy to send her over to my home for a consult. He told me that there was a fee for the service, but it would be then applied to anything that I purchased. When I told him that would be fine if I could be guaranteed of said design and color options, he said he'd be happy to send her over without a fee. That was a nice first impression! Soon thereafter, bright and cheery and ever so knowledgeable Sandi arrived with a big smile that matched her positive attitude. She measured, looked at the current state of my living room for color, texture and style, as well as asked me for color/style ideas. After providing her with those things, we made an appointment for me to go to the showroom. In the next couple of days-- even before my appointment, she had sent me a couple of sofa shape options as well as a spot on fabric color. Oh my goodness-- a miracle worker! At my meeting with her in the store, she had me test out the sofas for cushion level comfort and depth. Then, it was easier to narrow down my choices. I was there for a couple of hours. I was thrilled that we were pretty much on the same page about what would work-- as well as our collective philosophy of "thinking outside the box". Accordingly, we came up with a fabulous design-- incorporating design elements from 3 different sofas. As if that wasn't enough, the next day she came over-- again, to fine tune both the shape and dimensions, to assure that it would work wonderfully in my home. My new raspberry colored retri couch will arrive any day now, and I am dying to see it! I can't say enough about Sandi and her level of customized customer service---such an anomaly here in San Diego. Please go visit them at their Mission Valley locale-- and tell them that I sent you. So many great things to say about my experience working with Don at Purewood Furniture. I was…read morelooking for a kitchen table and chairs and had seen some Amish furniture that was out of my budget. Stopped in to Purewood Furniture and selected a solid wood table and chairs, chose custom stain and fabric, and was able to get everything for 1/2 the price of what I had seen at other stores. The finished product was great quality and the stain was perfect. Don and his staff delivered and set everything in place. After a couple weeks we had a little problem opening the table to add the leaf. We called Don because we wanted to make sure nothing was broken, so rather than letting us possibly damage the table, Don said he would come by and check it out that afternoon. Turned out to be nothing but new stain and hinges sticking. He loosened it up and made sure we were happy before he left. I mentioned during that conversation that I was thinking of adding a couple more chairs and that I would come to the store in a few weeks to place the order. Well, several weeks later I stopped in to place the order for the chairs and Don said he knew I was going to get them, so he had already ordered them and had them there ready to stain. It's great doing business with a place who takes such great care of their customers!!
