When I asked to be made whole for the lost item, I spoke with the alleged owner, chelsea. Rather than listening or attempting to resolve the issue fairly, she accused me of being argumentative, a deflection tactic I found unnecessary and unprofessional. I calmly explained I was asking clarifying questions to ensure we were on the same page, especially since she wasn't even aware four pairs had been dropped off and not three as she kept stating. This confirmed my concern that the store does not track the number of items customers bring in. That's a major operational flaw or possibly an intentional policy because if items go "missing," the customer has no recourse beyond a low store credit. When I suggested better intake practices, chelsea the alleged owner continued to respond with condescension and eventually ended the call abruptly. Her tone and dismissiveness echoed the unhelpful attitude I experienced from other staff as well. To others considering consigning with this business: * Document everything * Take photos and count items before drop-off. * Be prepared for poor customer service and limited accountability if anything goes wrong. I don't live nearby, so I'll often try to get there for one or two pieces they showed and find that even a day later the item is gone. They just sell stuff fast! This makes it hit or miss I wish they had multiple locations, perhaps one in Clackamas from our transition center? I imagine the intention behind this non-profit would be appreciated nationwide. Big dreams, I know. I believe the place is run by volunteers (or mostly volunteers), which is a beautiful thing. Outside they'll have pots and wrought iron items and furniture. Inside has crafting items and hardware, tools and kitchenware, more furniture and all sorts of goodies. It's smaller than a thrift store, which I appreciate because sometimes the huge places can be overwhelming. Ultimately, I recommend you visit. Maybe you'll find something, maybe not, but if you prefer well-made, older goods, you'll eventually find something you'll very much love.

There is a completely random selection of merchandise such as scarves, hats, aprons, baby clothes and toys, household items, small appliances, books and more. And the best part is the prices! It's not uncommon to find dishes and candle holders for 0.10 cents, or books for 0.25 cents. The handcrafted items run the gamut in pricing, but it all goes to a good cause. I'm committed to doing what I can to help seniors in my community, so shopping here and donating items for them to sell is the least I can do. But mostly, it's fun gossiping with the senior volunteers who run the store.

What I do know is that she opened a cart in a food truck pod- a cart that sells her hand-picked vintage and thrift goodies. "Why is this such a brave act?" you ask. Imagine that you have lovingly curated and collected a dozen wardrobe's worth of awesome vintage and thrift finds and you decide to open a cart to sell your wares in a pod with carts that sell food. Imagine all of the gluttonous masses who stop by your pod-neighbor trucks to eat a delicious meatball sandwich (Holy Canoli) or green curry over rice (Sneaky Kitty), then decides to come over to your vintage shop and paw through all of your precious 90s high-waisted skirts and 80s pullover sweaters without having washed their hands after eating! Dirty post-meal hands! Oh the horror! I, for one, shop before I eat so I can work up an appetite. Every time I go, I find at least one piece that was seemingly just what I was looking for and I didn't even know it. The cart is small, so there is a limited selection compared to a place like Goodwill- except here Sonya has already carefully chosen all the good stuff so you don't have to rake through a gamillion ill-fitting and boring Old Navy fleece sweaters to find something you like! Yours even has a small section devoted to cutey adorable kid's clothes too! And the extra kicker: totally reasonably priced! (That's my thrift side speaking!
