Not exactly how it works, but it's not my thrift store so I digress. When you think of an outrageous price they might be charging for an item, double or triple that and anything good is priced that way (but it's not good enough to be priced that way). There are still reasonable prices on some clothing, some books, and some very average glassware. They do have some interesting things and I did find one thing to purchase. So for this, I give 3 stars. I might come back at some point in the future but am not compelled to make a trip specifically to go here anymore.

It is very unassuming from the outside and has limited hours- if you're able to visit though, I recommend it. The prices are very fair, the selection is good and the volunteers are very friendly. It's definitely not as clean or comfortable as say Goodwill, but it's fairly organized and easy to find things. The best selections are in clothing, books, homewares and DVDs. Lots of parking in the area including a dedicated lot. Bit of a warning- during summer it can get very hot in here. I think there is AC but the building doesn't appear to be well insulated. Not a major deal for me, but for people more sensitive to temperature this is a heads up!

They just had cashiers with an extrmely long line. It took about 15 mins waiting in line to check out. Certian sections are well orgnized and others are not. It looks a bit dingy and messy in parts of the store. They allow dogs so that is nice and their sales benefit the Humane society which is awesome! We brought our pup. I found a few great nicknacks and a great little bench seat with an embroidered top for $7.99. Needs to be refinished. Really good prices on many things. There were not enough people working and they were kind of unproffesional and unhelpful. They seemed extremely stressed. I wanted to see things in a locked in a case on the floor. I politely asked the clerk about it and she said it will be like a half hour and never looked up at us at all or when checking us out or said anything pleasant or nice. Something for them to work on. Some customers also seem clueless about just standing in the way of others from looking at things and chit chatting for 5 - 10 minutes. It is not a coffee shop people.

Getting into the Woodland Action thrift store takes some effort. It's a little hard to find the…read moreentrance, and it may not be clear whether it's even open at first. But once you're in, you'll find a surprisingly big space! They're located inside a warehouse, and the back loading dock is for deliveries. The ground floor is the food bank. For the thrift store, go up the external flight of stairs to the lime green door. Inside, the store is pretty big. Books and jewelry are up front, and in mid-November, they had A LOT of Xmas decorations: wreaths, ornaments, gift bags and cards, glassware and dishes. The majority of the store is housewares, and they even have a furniture section in the middle of the floor. The book selection is also pretty decent. Clothing is less well represented. There's one side room with men's and women's clothing, and it's not a big selection. Kids' clothing is on the main floor, and there seems to be more of that than adults' clothing. Most of the clothes had flat prices by the type of item, and were pretty reasonably priced. They also had a special where you could fill a bag with clothes for $6, so it seems like they offer additional sales and discounts. Prices seemed a bit high on the housewares and kitchen appliances for what they were. But the clothes and books were fairly priced, so it may just depend on what you're looking for. Overall, not someplace I'd go out of my way for, but if you find yourself in Woodland and want to do some thrifting, the Action Center is here for you!
