OK all you bargain shoppers...This location is large, clean, and well organized. Plenty of parking and what could make it better? A 50 percent off sale! They have one about once a month so prepare yourself for some major deals. We happened to stop by and found out it was 50 percent off. My son even found a Nerf gun for a discounted price of $1. Yes it was missing the Nerf darts, but he had plenty at home. What a good deal for him. I did note a large selection of toys, boys and girls clothes, and huge selections of men's and woman's clothing. It was late in the day of the sale most of the furniture was ransacked. So I would suggest coming early if you need the big stuff. Enjoy. read more

I had a very unfortunate interaction with a few of the staff today where a lady fell over and few gentlemen from the staffing team were called over to help, but they decided to walk the other way. This is my favorite Goodwill store! The workers are nice - my favorites are Shirley and Stacey because they are always cheerful! I always waited to be checked out by Shirley but now she is a greeter and it's so nice to come in the store and be acknowledged and greeted with her lovely smile and like she actually enjoys being there! I went to this location when they first opened around Halloween and it was full of happy, friendly and creative staff helping last-minute costume makers put something together. I didn't find what I wanted there, but recently went back to scope out furniture, thinking a Goodwill in North Scottsdale would be the place to score some good pieces. Their home section looks much like any other second-hand shop's and I was unimpressed, but my trip turned into one of their commercials and I found two cute dresses for $10 each and True Religions for $13 (if you want designer jeans, check the front "premium" racks, not the regular jean section). That score will keep me going back for more! The racks are huge, but worth the search. Come battle-ready on their monthly 50% off Saturdays. read more

Just because of the nature of the business, Goodwill's of course seem to take on the personality of the area that it's in. While you probably won't find many obscure band t-shirts here at teh North Scottsdale local, this is a great place to find cheap nicer clothes. I've successfully found a few dress shirts here that look like they've like a led a strictly dry-cleaner lifestyle, for only $5-$7 each. (Yes, I could have rolled the dice and waited for 1/2 price Saturday, but I didn't want to chance it.) A good place to scope out if you need work clothes, not a good place to find a sweater for your Ugly Sweater Party. read more

As Goodwill stores go, this location is definitely a five star destination. We've had luck here with children's toys & books, furniture and household items, the result of the demographics of the surrounding area, I guess. Nicely laid out and well maintained. As an added bonus, there are also some pretty good restaurants nearby for when you are finished shopping. Pricing is generally very reasonable, but like all Goodwill stores around Phoenix, some of the prices are set a little high with the idea that you'll be getting a discount of some type. The best deals are every other Saturday when everything in the store is half price. Sundays are 25% off days for teachers. Tuesdays are 25% off for 55 year old plus shoppers. A designated color of tag will also always be half price, changing each week. Look for the sign near the entrance. Perhaps the easiest discount is the online coupon, usually 20% off a $10 or more purchase, emailed monthly when you sign up. Be aware new or holiday merchandise will not be included in any of the discounts. That said, Goodwill is all about scoring a deal AND helping out the community. This Goodwill has a lot of friendly employees, living reminders of the good work Goodwill is doing. No guarantee that you'll find the bargain of your life, but come on in for some entertaining browsing and support Goodwill. Bring a donation for them to sell. And round up your purchase price to the next dollar when you check out. read more

Goodwill like any second-hand store is hit or miss, but this location seems to have good deals. I often find myself in Savers or some other weird second-hand store trying to sell me something used for more than new and this location doesn't seem to do that. I am currently sitting on a $400 leather recliner with only very minor cat scratches in a 2 inch area for only $50. Sure the guy that helped me load the chair acted like he just lit up, but it's better than me breaking my back. read more

The customer service here is five stars but the air conditioner in this place must have been on the fritz during one of the muggiest days of the year - beginning of monsoon season. Every store has their fitting rooms re-opened except goodwill. I will try on 20items and only like one so the return policy of only store credit within 7days is awful. I shop less and less and the prices are usually unfair and way over priced. I think Goodwill forgets that just because it's a name brand item it is still used and shouldn't be charged what you would to buy it brand new... read more

Located in north Scottsdale with a large clean parking lot. Store Interior is spacious and well organized. Went to get clothing for my 6 & 7 year old kids, only to have slim choices for both children. Possible reason is transition into fall from summer attire. The kids toys section also had slim pickings to choose from. We did happen to find a dress, skirt, belt & wolverine claws to satisfy both children and I. Not sure how well other departments were stocked as I didn't browse around. I have been going to this Goodwill for years, I thought I have seen it all. I think it is odd that a manager of only 3 to 4 months is policing customers and won't let you open board games like all the other locations to check them. She actually said that if they are taped up, they are complete. This woman is working for Goodwill because she doesn't have her special education teaching job, not because of her experience with working in customer service. The DTA man and Webb the woman stopped my son who has special needs from checking the games we wanted to buy to make sure they had their pieces. She also said they have to be disinfected every piece which is not done. She was not a pleasant woman and handled the situation poorly. Especially when I said we can open the games right here and we can give them back to you if they are not complete, and she refused to do that either. We left the big pile of games on the table and walked out, and told her I will talk with corporate and she said please do this is the procedures, she didn't care what this did to my family with special needs. I had two family members with us with Autism. I have been going to Goodwills for 40 years. Her attitude was bad. I wish Webb would take time to understand procedures before telling customers what they can or can not do. When I called it in to corporate, they thought this was out of character of her but how do you know someones character at 4 months? There are so many people that work there that could have been promoted but they chose this woman? She needs training before working with any other customers. My son has special needs and you would think with her special ed background, she would be more compassionate. I was told she also works at the Raintree location too. I found some vintage Christian door and an Alala shirt. The guy helping me was so nice. The prices are too high. They had dresses for $14.99, so I opted to not buy them. I went to banana republic around the corner and bought dresses for $20 on sale. The prices need to be a bit lower. read more

I stopped into this goodwill to buy some roller blades for some good CHEAP fun. I was excited to see that the roller blades we're all tagged for $5 and $6 so I tried on a few and found some that fit me fine but had some plastic cracking off. Figuring they were only $6 would get them regardless. When I got to the register to purchase them the cashier asked to step away to go check on the price and came back with a $20 sticker. She charged me $20 for broken rollerblades and said she had to change the price because the brand was a good brand. I'm sorry but are you serious?????? They were all tagged for so cheap and she was so insistent on overcharging me. Terrible business and communication. Don't go here the prices are not what they appear apparently. Never going here again I got hella hoed for some broken rollerblades. read more

All Goodwills are not alike. Sometimes I come in this particular one looking for one thing and leave with five other items I didn't know I needed. This is one (just like all of them) has a particular smell about it but not in bad way. I have had some great finds in this Goodwill since it opened and it is conveniently located near my job. This was the worst experience of my life. The workers busted in my dressing room while was changing yelling that I must obtain a cart and put back all of my items for no good reason. The cashier smashed my friends finger and was very aggressive with the shopping cart. Apparently I'm also too fat to be riding in the shopping cart when I have a broken back. Goodwill needs to fix this employee issue. I was disgusted. read more

I have been a frequent goodwill bargain hunter since I moved to Phoenix 3 years ago. Of all the goodwills in the valley (I've been to a majority of them at one point or another), this particular location prices some of their merchandise way above other stores. Why? I don't know...here's a small example- I went in recently looking for a pair of athletic shoes. They had several well-worn Nikes and wanted $29.99 for each pair. Totally ridiculous! I have noticed that this location will gouge you for items that would be priced significantly lower at another location. On the contrary, however, I have found some great quality items at this location. It's always clean and it's one of the larger stores. read more

After shopping at Goodwill for the last four years and many times at this location, this was one of the worst experiences I've had. After I was done shopping I went to the fitting room area to go through my items for any flaws and or if I changed my mind about an item or two. Even though it's a thrift store, the $$ add up fast. There I was approached by a middle aged guy asking if I needed a fitting room. After I said no and I was just sorting through my items and taking them off hangers he proceeded to tell me I needed to put back anything I didn't want to it's original racks. Well, that's a first. Fine whatever. I would have not minded but for the fact how he approached me and how he talked to me. Not even a minute later another guy comes over and asks me the same thing and tells me the same thing with the same attitude with the same hostility. Then both of them proceeded to go to the register which was not very far from where I was standing and started talking shit about me to a third clerk (Shirley). I bough 80% of the items I had in my cart. The nice lady Shirley at the register apologized for Chad's and Kevin's behavior after I told her it was me who they were talking about. Anyway it's Goodwell I don't expect above and beyond customer service but if you're asking customers for money for your career center maybe you should teach some etiquette. Like I said this is probably the first time I had a negative encounter with employees. I was at the same location two weeks ago in the evening and the staff was awesome. This Goodwill location is BY FAR my favorite location, and I've been to almost all of the Goodwill's in the Valley, Tucson, Flagstaff and other Northern AZ cities. Their shoe selection is always stocked with name brand and designer brand shoes. Their better quality clothing (they mark them as BQ)...are very reasonably priced. My husband came here with me yesterday and was able to score a complete suit, two dress shirts, and a couple of ties for $35. All of the items were name brand and only gently (if at all) used. We couldn't beat that! Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything for myself. It's okay though, I'd been to other thrift stores throughout the day and had stocked up on stuff I wanted. This store was clean and since it's in a nice area, had some nice items for sale. It sounds a little stuck up, but you are dependent on the area they put the Goodwill as to what kinds of items will be up for grabs. We'll be back if we're ever over there again. read more

I am so excited for this new find. So many great clothes for good prices. I spent $50 and got over 10 items near brand new. My cashier, Keith, was extremely helpful and kind even though it was very busy and his scanner wasn't working great. He put in each item and made sure I got everything I needed. Just because this Goodwill is in North Scottsdale, do not think it is vastly better than other around town. I think people drive from far and away to go to the 'Scottsdale' Goodwill and thus this is one of the most picked over in town!! I've stopped in a few times but mostly this looks like a bunch of stuff that should have been put into the dumpster instead of on sale shelves. I guess people may find things here but it is going to take a huge time investment. I bought a lamp here once that I liked but since then nothing. read more
