I've found some nice stuff here, it's reasonably well organized, but the hours need to be updated because the doors were locked at 7:20.

This location often has great finds but most of the staff is often rude. If you can ignore that, you will be fine.

Thrifting in Seaside Goodwill wasn't one of the places we came to Monterey for but my hubby forgot to bring shoes on this trip. He traveled with only his flip flops ugh! so we looked for some comfy tennis shoes for him to wear because we planned to do some urban hiking between the Old Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row and beyond... we went first to Costco, then to Ross, and then we said let's try a Goodwill store. Found this nearest Goodwill store and went straight to the shoe section. There were not that many selection for men but plenty (of course!) for women. Hubby found an Under Armour sports shoes, almost brand new and perfect size. He liked the color too, dark gray and black. What are the chances of finding one from a small inventory... No large bags which I could understand but it was definitely targeted as we were the only young and non-white people shopping. When I told the employee "what about those other people with large purses?" I was told "those don't count" I don't mind leaving my bag but you better make everyone do it not pick and choose. read more

This is the definition of an okay goodwill store. If you want clothes then go here but for practically anything else, stay away. They have a small shelf of books, a tiny selection of DVDs, and as far as video games and Blu-rays are concerned you can forget about it. They have stuff like decade old TVs and monitors from the mid 2000s marked at well over what they are valued at. Despite being on the larger end of goodwill stores the lack of item diversity brings this one down a lot. read more

This store is not very organized and their prices are ridiculous! They get their items via donations so why such absurd prices? I came here for an item that I was going to use once and then donate. Found the same item - brand *new on Amazon for less. Goodwill doesn't leave one with a sense of goodwill anymore. I do not recommend this organization any longer. read more

I hate to admit it, but this was always one of my favorite shops to visit. My best friend lived only a block away, and whenever I go to the area, I would shop here. Wonderful people run the place. The thing about a thrift store is you can't go once a month!.. I recently found a brand new Hugo Boss zippered sweater for $8.99... You just never know if you'll find something or nothing but buying recycled is much better for the planet AND you never know when that unexpected shopping day might bring!! After visiting the Beverly Hills Goodwill 2 weeks ago, I was so happy to find this gem in Seaside. It was clean and organized by item and size. Won't be coming to this drop-off location anymore. Had a previous interaction with a man with glasses "shushing" my dog in the car while dropping off some things. I had told him my dog will bark to not catch the man off-guard. Today when I came by again, I let him know about my dog being in the car and he says, "whatever" to my gal. Really?? I would not recommend shopping at this Goodwill store. The manager, Dawn, was very rude to me. And was not accommodating to a mistake in price. She stood strong on her price that she thought the item was. Even though it had a different price on it. We lost the price tag, which is understandable, to go look for a price. But I saw the price and it was a different price than what they quoted. I paid for it anyway. Then we found the price tag stuck on my daughters arm literally one minute after walking out of the store. With the fact I quickly walked in the nearest store after getting cat called on the street on my actual way to goodwil, and ending up at a thrift store that I've never seen before, but immediately having the horrible experience of feeling unwelcomed at MPVS Thrift store, I.e. the volunteers did not address me what so ever just looked at me and kept organizing the clothes, after a couple of minutes looking through and trying to distract myself with something fun in the meantime, I witnessed one of the volunteers have lack of professionalism and simple proper verbiage to address a couple that did not have their masks with a "you can't be in here without masks!" instead of simply being kind of their own business rules or at least offer a mask in the meantime, let me tell you for a brown woman of color I am glad I walked out this horrific store and this unecessary hostility. Although I wear my mask often the point is the mandate is uplifted and therefore people should be able to have the freedom to wear one or not. If the volunteers are afraid of people not wearing their masks they should stay home, two, it's a thrift store things are certainly not new and sterilized when donated. Although I saw two pieces I was willing to purchase--there's no way I did after all this. I am so glad I continued on to Goodwill I have been there before looking for unique pieces and things you really can't buy out there at times not even at Marshall's or Ross lol (it's true). As soon as I walked in I felt no hostility and was greeted with the usual "hello welcome". That makes a huge difference especially for an Afro indigenous women out and about. Thank you to all the staff at Goodwill for making me feel safe in every way-- thank you and for being patient with me when I have more than 2 pieces to try on. I found a very cool jacket haha. Thank you so much for simply being real and at the same time attentive. Mind you the couple from the thrift store also ended up at goodwill and let me say one of the employees (although she said she was having a hard morning ) was so attentive to the couple and informed the partner that his partner was in the changing room . Being from the Midwest I was not prepared to not have a bag for my items, and I had no cash to pay the extra for a bag, and seeing as we walked a mile from our hotel that was a tad inconvenient. I did find the majority of items the be expensive for a goodwill however ($12 for a sweater that I could get new at TJ Max) I did find some decent deals (like my jar, yes a cute, sealing jar) filled with jewelry for $7, and a coffee mug for a $1, a tank top for $2, and some kid Sperry shoes for $4. I will agree with one Yelper who stated that there is a part of the store that smells like urine. I will also state that I didn't have any issues with staff and they were very courteous. read more

Excellent service for a thrift store and the staff was so friendly there. We went in to check out what they had and was shocked how clean it was. The really tall guy that manages the store was so helpful, he helped me look for a match to a pair of boots I really wanted. I ended up buying way more than I expected. We will definitely shop there again when we are in town. read more

This is a smaller Goodwill than most, but it was fairly clean, friendly employees, and had what we needed at a decent price.

Tip: pull into the back of the store And you will discover the very convenient drop off trucks located to the back of the actual store. Heaven! Pull in, friendly gentle men carefully and efficiently unload your car, they thank you and give you a receipt. Bam! You are done! read more

Not a great selection. Came here for Halloween shopping. I was in line to try one pants. Then another lady after me had more than 5 pieces of clothing to try on. When the attendant opens the door i was about to go in but the customer from the back rushed in and the attendant didn't even say anything or apologize. Stopped in today for the ribbon cutting ceremony on this remodeled store. I was so impressed. This is a great organization, and I love to see them modernizing and doing all the right stuff to make their stores more appealing to a wide range of shoppers. Don't forget that Goodwill isn't just a thrift store. They use the money raised by the thrift store business to get people jobs and job training. Even though they are training new people...everyone working here was very nice and pleasant. I found some goodies and they didn't seem to be too overly priced. Glad I stopped in here. This review is just for the donation services not the store. Drive to the back to drop off donations. Friendly staff will come to your car to help pick up the donations. They offer information for your taxes if you need it. I'm not sure of the hours of the donation truck but every time I drive by they seem to be open. The location is a gravel back driveway so be prepared for that. read more

A small GW with it's own parking lot, small lot. Inside, there are no additional sales like in my area in Silicon Valley. I am used to colored tags sales, ie. yellow tags are 50% for the day....but did like this store because there were some designer, or Macy's level used and new clothes. Mostly clothes and shoes, rubber boots for $7 and fleece jacket for $7, didn't see much housewares and no furniture. read more

If you buy 2nd hand or like Thrift Stores like I do, please read this. Most of the Staff at this store is not friendly. Even the managers have a bit of a attitude. Many of the items are ridiculously priced, which is surprising because they get them for free. You will find some items with more than one price tag. Often they will pick the higher price. They are reluctant to offer refunds. For example I bought a table. While the man was hauling it to my car, he said one the legs was broke. I looked and sure enough it was. I went right back into the store. The lady acting as manager on duty wanted to give me store credit. I told her I paid in cash, I want my cash back. She eventually refunded my money. This company makes millions off free stuff and customers. So I think they should offer better customer service. read more

I like this Goodwill and have found good stuff here, it's just a bit on the expensive side. Jeans are $7 to $10 and tops are usually around $5. The shoes are also way overpriced for the condition they are in. Scour the t-shirt racks because those are 3 for $1 (or $1 each, I'm not sure I understand that logic)! read more

When donating a few days ago the two men taking in the donations felt it was appropriate to make fun of me every time my back was turned and then laugh historically about it. I have been a faithful shopper of this Goodwill for 23 years! It currently has the BEST selection of used books on the peninsula- 25 cents for paperbacks, $1 for hardcover! The clothes are sorted by color, and everything is clean and ready to wear. This has been a treasure of a store, and now that "recycling" your wardrobe is so cool, it is often quite crowded! I recycle my wardrobe throughout the year, and love finding unique and specialty items that allow my personality shine through at work and at play! My 33 year old daughter has been faithfully donating to the Seaside Goodwill for many years. She is kind, and generous. She has a precious voice, always has, it is a little higher than normal and gentle. On Sunday after cleaning out her storage locker she drove to your goodwill to donate a great deal of items. Understanding that goodwill does not accept all donations my daughter asked the two men that were working that afternoon if they accepted humidifiers as she had 2 she wanted to donate. These 2 GROWN men proceeded to MOCK her, joking in front of her in a high voice " Do you accept humidifiers? " They went on and on and did not stop. She finally said something to them about how RUDE they were. She is mild mannered and did not give them a bad time, just let them know that, that was unfair. If I had been there they would have been marched into the front of the store and made to apologize to her. She told me that from now on she will be making all of her donations to the Salvation Army.
