I thought that I wouldn't find anything to my taste until I went by the jewelry. I found this earrings and necklace set for $8 total. It might be carnelian(?) but I'm not entirely sure. The chain is definitely plated so I'm going to switch it out (also because it's a bit rigid to work with/open) for a better one, but I'm really impressed by this set for the price. My hometown thrifts just have junk jewelry. Even if this is costume jewelry, the quality feels better than the average piece. I went to a lot of benefit shops in Carmel when I was there and checked their jewelry selection but this was by far the best.

Just follow the little walkway tucked in between Ace Hardware and CVS Drugstore and turn left to the doorway of Consignment by the Sea. Even if you are just browsing, you will be glad you took this detour. The variety here is staggering, as well as the delightful lack of predictability from vintage and antique creations. Thanks to this store, there is a delightful large Japanese screen gracing our living room, with delicately painted pine branches. We also discovered a pair of red porcelain lamps, a black Japanese laquer chair with an ottoman, upholstered in a red geometric pattern, a leather topped coffee table with scroll legs, and four black upholstered modern dining chairs. The value of vintage furniture is that you can find solid wood, brand name pieces for a fraction of the cost at department and furniture stores. They even sometimes feature complete suites of the same style of furniture. A tip is to keep youe eye on the prices as the long the items are in the store, the less they are. They also sometimes have discount days here. The decorative items are also varied and fascinating. I recently saw a beautiful silk obi sash displayed on a chair and some delicate porcelain teacups. This gem is a must-browse each time I visit Carmel.

FOrgive me for taking 2 prizes but I couldnt decide what to have.. I wanted the gummy glitter paste as I needed something to keep myself calm.. and a slapping bracelet.. What sold me the most was the chalks. There was this fun lady who was waving a wand of bubbles and ask perrmission to draw, and the moment she said yes..I immediatly bend down on my knees and draw the first thing on my mind.. MERMAID ARIEL. THen when that was done.. I had more spare time so I drew GENIE JASMINE once i finished i manage to get up and began to browse the furniture.. The staff already placed their things inside but let me allowed to draw some more. They were very kindful and enjoyed the image i did. They do have some nice things like tvs and tables and such but mom loves to shop there taking her sweet time as we travel very very far just to be here ( and a few stores we love to go to). Thank you so much for letting me draw the side walk. I love disney but these two gave me happyness and joy. This made my day as I couldn't go to Comic con this year and felt heartbroken v_v...but that sidewalk drawing made my day for the better! I don't know why this is, but is extremely obvious that they are overdoing it. Very dated used garments way over priced. I understand some are good brands but some vests & dresses are priced @ i50$ or more even though they are frayed & worn. I honestly hope they reconsider bc most of my local friends that used to rave about this store, no longer recommend it. Someone in there who is responsible for this very obvious price hikes need to stop it back, you are certainly overdoing it; even with your 50% off days, ITS OVER PRICED!!!!!!!!!
