I came here yesterday to check out some very casual summer clothing, like tank tops, t-shirts and shorts, that I can wear around the house, since it looks like summer-ish weather in the area isn't going to change any time soon. I don't mind paying a whole lot less for clothing, but I do have a limited range of what I would wear, whether it's been pre-owned or new. Lots of free parking is available in the large lot in front of the store. As I walked through the entrance, I noticed that it's very easy to see everything in the store, since most of the racks and shelving is no taller than 4' tall. There is also easily seen signage throughout the store that lets customers know where the various departments are located. In the limited amount of aisles that I was at, the racks were spaced wide apart, allowing customers with carts to easily stroll down all aisles without fear of colliding with others. The store was very clean, and mostly organized. I looked for tank tops I could wear around my place, but I was apparently being a little too picky because I ruled out every tank top that I found, mainly because I was looking for plain ones (ones without logos or stupid/silly/funny statements on them) and could not find any that I liked. I gave up on t-shirts, too, for the same reasons. Shorts were a different issue; not only was that department picked over, but the shorts I found would not look good on a short guy. Just about all of the shorts I found were made for tall guys, or at least guys with a longer inseam. I found some shorts that had shorter inseams, but still rejected them due to them not being age appropriate for me. What guy wants to wear shorts that would make others think, "Did that guy borrow those shorts from his young grandson?"? Before I left, I noticed a long line of customers waiting to checkout at the single register opened for business. There were at least 12 customers, many of them with multiple items in shopping carts, looking a little annoyed that no other employees came to the front to help that one cashier who was trying to get everyone checked out in a timely manner but failing spectacularly. read more

I popped in here to kill time on a Tuesday afternoon when traffic was really bad. They had a lot of cute quality clothes. Name brands, natural fibers, and lots of clothes that are currently on trend. I see reviews complaining about prices but the highest price for anything I picked up was $7.25, which is a steal. Orange tagged items were also half price. read more

Employee spit on me and when I tried to complain he round house kicked me and left me on the floor... like I'm serious he was on some ninja crap I didn't even see it coming. I was shocked. The furniture guy in the back name Rocky is the rudest Goodwill worker I have ever met in my life!! He needs to be fired. He was so rude to someone asking him a question I couldn't believe it. Then when I asked him a question about the furniture he completely bit my head off. I even told the manager Monica about his behavior. read more

They "temporarily" closed the dressing rooms but won't accept returns after 7 days. I rush to make my return at my local store, now you have to go back to the exact store you purchased from. I head back there and wait in a 30 min line to be told they cannot accept the bag only the clothes. Then they have the audacity to try to hand me store credit. I have the receipt and the card I paid with. Goodwill is a trash company with no true concern for the community it leaches off of. I'll never donate or purchase from them again. read more

I admit it...I'm a thrift store addict, especially Goodwill. My family laughs, but they're usually impressed with what I bring home. This particular store did not have the amount of children's items I usually find, but their selection of DVDs is very large and had so many great titles. I also found an adorable piece of hand-turned pottery for $2.92. It's a treasure hunt every time! read more

My favorite Goodwill for home decor shopping! I recently purchased a home in the Sandy Springs area, and I spent many visits to thrift stores and the likes of Marshall's/Ross to find some cheap home decor (paintings, mirrors, storage units, etc.). I found some great paintings and a hallway mirror at this location at wonderful prices! I probably purchased the most items here compared to any other store. Some of the items are overpriced for being "used", but there are definitely some steals! You just need to spend the time to look through everything. If you haven't had any luck finding cheap home decor at other stores, check this place out! read more

I went to another Goodwill earlier and this one was FANTASTIC by comparison. I managed to find several items that qualified for the colored tag - 50% off sale! The items were relatively high-end! I regretted spending money at the nearby "high-end" boutique up the road. I will definitely be back! Especially on military discount Thursday! Lots of parking too. read more

It also helps that everyone seems to think because you were in IT that you still have control over the system ;). this is probably one of my fave goodwill. they always have something interesting. They are not yet super pricey but I still think free/donated items should still be a lot lower than what they price it for. simply 'creating jobs' and paying people minimum wage is not an excuse to over price donated items. but still, all in all, im a fan. read more

Do not buy any large furniture here! Two weeks in a row, I purchased a large piece , and when I came to pick up, they sold my already paid for furniture to someone else! They have a ticket system but clearly no one knows how to read or write at this location! The response was "there were two sand colored couches and they pulled the wrong one" but what about matching the TICKETS?! NUMBERS?!? 123?!? No!?!? They refunded my money and said they would give me a "good deal" on anything I could carry out! Wth! Never going to this location again! While I dont expect exceptional customer service, I do expect some type of competency but alas I have been proven wrong, they are retarded, convinced! read more

I love this goodwill! They always have a lot to choose from! The only downside is it is a little over priced for the free items that they get from donations! Maybe it is because of the area they are in! I would personally never buy any furniture from them its always old worn out and out of date! (out of date is not a bad thing though) read more

This is a very small Goodwill. However, the old/used clothing smell was at a minimum. I don't understand the point of organizing clothes by color. For women, they had lots of suit jackets, so if you're looking for a hot pink blazer, this is your spot. The dress selection was very small, so if you're looking for a vintage piece for your next 80s party, you probably won't find it here. They had very little furniture, with maybe a dozen pieces tucked into the back right corner of the showroom. The furniture they did have looked heavily used and was very dated and overpriced. read more

Situated in the former Target shopping center off Johnson Ferry Road, this Goodwill seemed decent when as I walked in. But that impression faded pretty quickly. The furniture was a complete and utter joke. I know GW gets bad stuff but a drunk wouldn't sleep it off on what I saw. Broken and stained furniture stuff was the norm. My mission was to find books to donate to an after-school program my family helps support. And I managed to find a few. The book department was one of the worst I'd seen in a GW, though. No organization and nothing worth buying. But the worst was when I attempted, note, ATTEMPTED to purchase the books. There were what seemed to be two lines. The one on the right looked to be completely stalled so I stupidly chose the one on the left. I wasn't paying much attention for a few minutes, my eyes drawn to the VHS/DVDs in the bin by the registers. Then I realized that my line was not moving either. So here's a woman with a buggy full of stuff she's already had rung up and two lamps are on the counter. It soon becomes clear that the two store employees don't know what they cost or what to price them. Minutes drag on endlessly as calls are made and nobody shows up. A manager arrives, shrugs and leaves. And my line grows and grows. Nobody working there has the balls to just pull that customer aside and start ringing up the rest of us. Or open a new register. Or slap a price on the dang things. I look at the line on the right and see that it's not much better over there, with the cashier holding a shirt up to the light to stare at it. The customers, like me, are grumbling and starting to get pissed. I'm already feeling the smoke come out of my ears at this point. After watching this circus of incompetence continue, I gave up, put my books on a counter nearby and left. And I don't plan on coming back. I wouldn't visit this store unless you have tons of time to wait in a line that never moves. read more

I was shopping in this store and sliced my arm on a metal ornament extending from a shelf. I went to the restroom to stop the bleeding and there were no paper towels, toilet paper or even soap in the dispenser. At this point, I have blood all over my shirt sleeve and it's dripping on the floor. So i head stratght up to a cashier who gives me a bottle of hand sanitizer, but does not have any napkins. She calls the store mgr. who comes over and sees me bleeding, but remarks she is busy with three other things and will get to me when she can!! Another employee seeing that I was bleeding, went to the back and got a gauze pad to stop the bleeding. I then confronted the manager stating, a medical emergency takes priority over helping other customers. She just kept repeating over and over again like a robot, "I'm sorry we did not meet your expectations". Really??!! Good Will needs to train their managers! She never even cared to ask what caused my injury so that another customer wouldn't cut themselves. This used to be the best GW in north Atlanta and now it's the worst!!! read more

I used to hate second hand shopping. Infact, I still do, unless I'm in the right store. Coming from San Diego, CA I had a pretty bad sense of thrift stores. However, here in Atlanta (at most locations of Goodwill) it may be worth your time......I hate to share my treasure stores, because I don't want anyone else to get them before me! HAha! But it's ok. Here's what I've found: (PS: this is over a period of about 3 months) 2 Genuine Diane von Furstenberg wrap dresses (one of which was brand new, from her newer "Vintage" line!!!!) 2 Gen Diane von Furstenberg wrap shirts 1 Gen Diane von Furstenberg silk skirt 2 Marc Jacobs dresses!!! Tons of Betsey Johnson dresses A Made on Earth for Scotti and David bag (this is a $400 bag!) Tons of Michael Kors dresses, tops and more Brighton belts Not to mention the higher end store brands such as: Anthropologie (Odille, Deletta, etc) Free People Banana Republic J.Crew and ooooooohhhhhh so much more!!! It takes some digging, but it can be worth it! read more

I'm a thrift store shopper and this is my favorite Goodwill store. There seems to be a lot of designer clothing, probably because of the location. I only shop for tops and never for anything else. Some of my most favorite shirts are from this Goodwill. I continue to stop by every couple of weeks and never walk out empty handed. read more

It is set up like all other Goodwill's in ATL with everything in almost the same place. Goodwill has standard prices for a lot of their items that are the same in all its stores. This store keeps it Blu-rays and games behind the counter so you have to ask someone to take them down in order to see what they have. This is the only store out of the 20 plus Goodwills I been to that does this. read more

pretty sure the pricing for this goodwill is based on its' location. there will items that will be decently priced for a thrift store and then there are the majority -- which are priced at slightly higher prices than other goodwill stores. the store is divided by women's on the left and men's on the right. the racks in both genders' sections are organized in a nice manner. such categories for clothing include: dresses, tops, pants, skirts, sleepwear, shoes, accessories, etc. to further help with your thrifting, the clothing sections are organized by color. other sections of this goodwill include: - books - movies, CDs {located in the back and some can be found in the front near the registers} - home-related items {located in the back of the store} - toys {located in the back of the store} - "just in" items (can be clothing and accessories) {located in the front of the store near the registers} - "designer"/high-end items {located in the front of the store, behind the glass cabinets} service isn't the greatest unless you're checking out. other than that, bad service could be having to wait forever for someone to unlock the fitting room for you. or you have to run around and look for someone to assist you with carry a large item. read more

This Goodwill is awesome, I drive from Gwinnett to come here to thrift to my little hearts content. This location is pretty clean and organized. I have never looked at the home goods or furniture, so can't really comment on either. I go here for the clothes. I am ALWAYS pleasantly surprised at the sweet finds that I stumble across when thrifting here. I always leave with a couple of cute dresses, skirts, shirts and sweaters. I have found pieces from Nike, Jones New York, London Times, White House/Black Market, Ann Taylor, GAP, Chicos, and Michael Kors. The staff here are always friendly and the restroom is clean, there are always several cashiers on duty, so no long check-out times, and the merchandise is never smelly (some thrift stores have a smell). This Goodwill has many treasures, but you have to dedicate a lot of time to find them. There often is what you are looking for (or what you're not), but, like many Goodwill stores, 95% is crap, so be prepared to thumb through many, many racks. read more

Used to be a good store until the new manager took over. The quality of the goods on the clothing rack has gone right down the sink. Really have to pay attention for rips, holes, dirty clothing that a couple of months ago would not be there. All the designer brands they used to have are no longer here. Most items are now sent to their "upscale" Goodwill stores. Prices? SHOT UP ! Specially on the electronics section. It's not unusual to find items priced higher than their retail price on the label on the item (yes, look it up, I have). Furniture price has gone up too, to a rather disturbing level. It's a common sight to see items siting on the shelves for weeks, since the prices went up. It's a shame, used to be a good store. Employees on the floor are very helpful (that's the two stars). Management could use a good revamp. read more

I love shopping, I love thrift stores, and I love this store. I live up the road and come here at least once a month. I ALWAYS find a few items that I absolutely love. This is a huge Goodwill and there's always a steady stream of customers. I have particularly good luck with coats, dresses and shoes here. I think the thrift stores outside of the perimeter are less picked through, so you can find some really cool stuff. Check it out! read more

This goodwill is ok, it's a little smaller than others but still plenty of things to choose from. I knocked off 3 stars because I noticed that compared to the stores closer to me, items here are overpriced. But, the main issue I had was the service. It took forever for someone to unlock the door to the changing room, I waited around the area and eventually gave up and found an employee. She looked annoyed that I was asking her for help, told me to wait a few minutes while she finished putting a rack of items away, and then when she finally let me in there were piles of clothes in the way and she just left them there. I guess I'll just stick to the goodwill I usually go to... read more

This Goodwill is horrible. Their prices are insanely high. Higher than you can buy new sometimes. Without a doubt their prices are higher than you can find used anywhere. For an organization that pays nothing for inventory their pricing is inexcusable. Parking is an issue if you go during lunch or the evening when the customers for the restaurant next door are taking all the parking spots. I'm neutral on the staff. Never had a great of bad experience involving them. read more

This was my first time stopping by the Sandy Springs Goodwill even though I drive past it all the time, and it will probably be my last. The building is deceptively small. It looks huge from the outside, but the shopping area is the smallest of any Goodwill, Value Village, or Salvation Army store I've ever been to. And it is DARK. Best take a flashlight along to make sure you don't purchase something with a stain you won't be able to remove. The selection was pathetic. I know with thrifting it's hit or miss and that can change every week. I just expected better from a location so close to some fairly well off areas. My biggest complaint about this location, though, was the pricing. Of the little furniture they had, most of it was falling apart and just priced too high. The few things they did have that might be worth purchasing were grossly overpriced. There was a cute Japanese tea set that was nice but not of top quality for $20. I can get a similar set new for that! You know those bed lifts we all used in our college dorm rooms? They had two sets, each individual piece priced $2.52. Considering that I can get the set brand new at Bed Bath & Beyond for $9.99 (and that's before the 20% off coupon I always keep handy!) they've actually managed to price the set ABOVE the retail price. And a pair of used (eew!) brand name shoes will run you about $12. No thanks. I'll stick to the department store clearance racks. I suppose if you're in the area with some time to kill it might be worth stopping by on the off chance that you might actually find a hidden treasure, but if you do go in here, be prepared to sift through a lot of overpriced junk.
