I love good thrift store visit and this is one of my favorite locations to frequent! The variety of clothing items are always arranged according color-- which is amazing for my usual colorful wardrobe. The misplaced "putbacks" in this store are also very limited. Which, if you've been to a Goodwill in Atlanta, you know this is rare. I am of course still bummed that dressing rooms are no longer a resource but that seems like a universal policy since the COVID takeover of 2020. The customer service is always pleasant and I've never had any issues with the checkout process! Lastly, the $0.99 Mondays are SUCH a deal if you ever find yourself near a Goodwill at this time. I was glad to see how large they were but had a hard time finding anything of particular use for my apartment. There were a good selection of couches to try out but I am always hesistant about buying soft fabrics. There were plenty of rows of shirts, shorts, dresses, and footwear to look through but I was not interested during that visit to look through. Overall, I had an okay experience. The checkout line took longer than necessary as there was only one check out person for the long line of customers ready to go. Not sure if this would be a regular location I'd visit. read more

I hadn't been to this location since about 2019. It used to be my top 5! I went yesterday and as soon as I walked in I was hit with humidity. I don't think the air conditioning was functioning properly. This used to be a gem, but it is not like how I remember. This looked like a lost Goodwill store as I've never seen one so unkept. The employees seemed overwhelmed but remained polite. It looked like it had been ransacked all week long in there! Moving on... I decided to stay hoping to find a few pieces!(I did) I typically like to leave my items at the register to wash my hands prior to leaving ... I had no idea I would hold up the line because I walked off and asked an employee on the floor to open the women's bathroom, but the only cashier had the key! I politely interrupted the other customers in line to request the key not knowing that he would leave the register to unlock the bathroom. So embarrassing.. I didn't know it was like that now! So he gets to the multi stall men's bathroom so I could wash my hands then letting me know that the key doesn't unlock the women's bathroom... o.o No thank you. He offered hand sanitizer at the register which was kind of him. I rushed out after apologizing to those standing in line and used the restroom next door. What happened to this location :( I don't think it's the employees all together but I'd love to see this place turn around!!! This location seems to receive more donations than most... maybe seasoned employees from different locations to set the tone and more sale promotions? read more

The dirtiest nastiest most poorly run goodwill I've ever been in. My wife and I love to go to Goodwill's and enjoy shopping at them. This one is a total joke. Clothes mixed in so that you can't find men's and women's clothes. Trash on the floor. Cashiers that don't even know how to operate a register. A complete disaster. read more

This is a great location! It has a great selection with a lot of good brands for low prices, and they have a wide variety of sizes that I can't always find at other goodwill locations. I got a pair of perfect condition White House/Black Market shorts for $5 when they normally cost $70 new. My mom also found a nice Talbots wool jacket for $7 that's normally $75. They also have a great shoe collection. You can find a lot of good condition heels in various sizes. I highly recommend this location. read more

This store has five check out counters, I have never seen more than two registers open, usually only one is open. Huge lines, there must have been literally 15 people waiting in line today. Plenty of parking, friendly staff, well-lit. But clothes aren't marked or sorted by size, so if you wear an unusual size, prepare for hours of disappointing label-hunting. I very nearly picked up a kitchen-counter-sized television for $25, but then realized I don't spend all that much time in the kitchen wanting to be entertained, so I passed. I looked for a deviled-egg tray but struck out. Wrong neighborhood, maybe? I did find a handful of good paperbacks for $1.50 each, including some that are usually easier to find in the UK than in the US (Xenophobe's Guide To..., Bluff Your Way In...). When I left, there were still pocket-sized guides to the language and customs of Italy and of the Arabic-speaking world, so if you're planning a trip overseas, well, you probably don't NEED to shop here, but you won't be disappointed! read more

I love a bargain! So when I want to spend $20 and look like I spent $300, this is the place I go. I like this location in particular because they let a lot of upscale, higher priced items go out on the floor regularly priced. I've grabbed a few Betsey Johnson bags for under $5, brand new Merrell or Sketchers for under $7, a few Michael Kors or Coach items slip through as well. I'm used to great service and friendly faces at goodwill, one of my favorite shopping places... and today I was very disappointed. One poor young girl was on register while it looked like 5-8 other employees were lounging and chatting outside the doors but within her view. None of them moved to help her. We all had to wait. Then when I tried to push my full! cart of purchases outside, one man looked at me and said "Ma'am! You can't take that outside." I can't take my shopping cart full of stuff out to my car? I didn't know what to do. Leave some of it behind and hope no one takes it? I have a bad back, though I am young, and can't carry heavy things without setting off a pain flare up. No one offered to help me with my bags and small furniture, since I couldn't take the cart. They just continued sitting and talking as I bundled everything up as best I could and hoped getting to the car with my purchases wouldn't mean 48 hours of acute pain. Come on goodwill, step up your game! Every other location lets you take out carts. Every other location has had people offer to help me with things that were heavy or bulky. Lo mas grande y lo mejor de Atlanta. I have oodles of love for Northeast Plaza, and this Goodwill is the crown jewel of the shopping center. The clothing selection is massive, and you can often find things in very nice fabrics (read: I never don't see a cashmere sweater here). The kitchen crap section (N.B.: I *lurve* kitchen crap) is similarly expansive. You're almost guaranteed to find whatever bakeware you're looking for, and it will be the kind that can survive a nuclear blast. I think this is also where I found my treasured "I'd Rather be 40 than Pregnant" coffee mug. The book selection is also quite nice. While about half of it is the usual crap (Tom Wolfe, Rush Limbaugh, 10-year-old travel guides), there are always a fair number of things you actually want to read, and not out of ironic interest. So yeah, whenever I can drag my lazy ass up here, it's a happy day. read more

Discovering this Goodwill made my thrifting heart sing. Perhaps it's because of the proximity to Buckhead, but the women's clothing selection is aMAZing. And it's so well-organized that I walked out of this place with six new wardrobe pieces in less than an hour (and my wallet only $40 lighter!). These pieces included a J Crew dress, perfectly fitting black work pants by The Limited, two cute tweed businessy skirts, and two kickass designer blazers. And! I didn't even get a chance to peruse all of the selection because I so quickly found what I needed. Could a starving young grad student ask for more? I can't wait to go back. read more

Goodwill maintains this GREAT location for used books in a declining strip mall (you don't expect to see Goodwill at Phipps or The Forum, do you?). I pick books out and actually have to put some back before I reach the register. A high percentage of the store is devoted to used clothes. Why would I tell everyone about my secret used book stash? Because this store deserves to succeed. (And I couldn't read 'em all anyway.) Parking is ample, and the store is easily accessible from the I-85 access road southbound (between Clairmont and N. I thrift hard, real hard and this place made me go through racks like an explorer from yesteryear looking for gold. I scored the cutest 100% silk, vintage Halston dress for $6. I was so happy. Stopped in with bf, since he is currently obsessed with finding old-school audio equipment. He's had some luck at other Goodwill stores, so we decided to stop at this one on the way home from downtown Atlanta. This location is large and relatively neat and clean. When we walked in, we noticed that everything seemed to be in good order and the lighting was bright (good for examining pre-owned things). Ultimately, we did not find anything that jumped out at us, but I would be back to check out what they've got in stock at another time. 'Tis the task of thrifting. So. This is not the most inviting Goodwill I have been to, but there are deep discounts if you are willing to take a close look. There's not much in the way of furniture or electronics, but there are LOTS clothing and books. We left with a Wii fit board for 4 bucks and a specific hardcover book I had been looking for for under 3. The only sour note was as we were checking out... Apparently an intoxicated person was (inadvertently or not) shoplifting? But store employees dealt with the issue pretty quickly. Have shopped at Goodwill in just about every city that I've lived in and this one was by far the most impressive. Actually, I believe that this particular Goodwill serves as a career training center for Goodwill employees, so I'm certain it's held to a very high standard for that reason, which is a great thing for customers! Customer service was excellent. The staff seemed very knowledgeable of their store, could answer every question without hesitation, and therefore demonstrated caring, which is always a pleasure to any consumer. Clothes racks were well organized and all properly labeled. Cashiers were quick. This was the busiest Goodwill I've been to and there were no lines! Fitting rooms were regularly maintained. All in all - I plan on revisiting this Goodwill often, because it's about more than just the prices, it's a great shopping experience. read more

This is seriously my go to thrift store, and I usually hit it up once a week. I've found brand new rugs still in the packaging from West Elm, Cole Haan pumps with a $25 price tag ( that still had the $100 + price tag attached), the most comfortable office chair ever amongst tons of other goodies. People are always amazed at the things I find here. The staff is always nice, and the store is kept very clean. I am so very upset now that I can't help but to vent and to continue to vent until my issue is resolved. I worked for Goodwill Of North East Plaza 3337 Buford Highway, Atlanta, Georgia for nine (9) months. My last day of employment at this store was: May 29, 2018. (I gave notice that I had to relocated to Gainesville, Florida due to a family issue). I signed off on my resignation letter and I typed a letter also indicating that I needed any future payroll checks to be forwarded to my new address here in Gainesville, Florida. (I was told at that time that it would be taken care of and I was not informed in any fashion that I needed to or if management needed to take any additional steps in making sure that any of my future pay checks would be forwarded to me at my new address. (Here it is: May 15, 2018 and I have still not received my last to pay checks). I contacted the Store that I worked for a week after the next pay date, Which was on June 1, 2018. (I was then told by management that the reason that my pay check had not been forwarded to me yet was due to the fact that management wasn't sure if they could forward my pay to me at my new address without authorization from the Corporate Office. (And This was the reason that my check was still sitting in the office safe). Mind You, no one from management bothered to contact the Corporate Office to obtain permission to forward my check to me. I asked for the number for the corporate office and called myself. (I spoke with Shelly Rosa in payroll and explained to her that I had not received my pay check that for June 1, 2018 because the manager at that location told me that even though I had given them a typed letter requesting that my future pay be forwarded to me at my new address (with my new address information included, that they needed permission now, from corporate to do that). Ms. Shelly Rosa informed me that she would call the manager and authorize them to do just that. She Indeed did call the manger at that location. After speaking with Ms. Rosa, I called the store manager to confirm that Ms. Rosa had spoken with her and that My pay check would be forwarded to me. (That was on June 7, 2018). (I then asked the manager to just wait until the next day: June 8, 2018 and mail both checks to me at the same time). She Said that She would do that. Needless to say she did not do that. Yesterday: June 14, 2018 I called back to the Corporate office and was told that Ms. Shelly Rosa was not in the office yesterday. So I ended up speaking with: Ms.Robin Denson concerning the matter. She called the manager and the MOD informed her that the checks were still at their location sitting in the safe. Ms. Robin Denson called me back and informed me that she had sent a UPS Shipping Label to that location and that they would be sending me my check out that day and that I would have it as of 6/15/2018. She also forwarded a copy of the Shipping Label to myself also, so that I could Track It. (Needless to say as of 4:33 A.M. 5/15/2018 the checks still have not been sent (According to the tracking information from UPS). Once Again, I have been lied to and I need my paychecks. I don't need or care to hear any more excuses about it. (Just Please send me what I have earned). PERIOD! (There is one other thing that I find unacceptable and that is the attitude that I received from one of the Assistant Mangers when I was calling the store to inquire about my pacy checks). The attitude from her (Essie) was in my opinion rude and disrespectful to say the least.(I was left with the impression from her that: "She Truly Could Have Cared Less If I Received My Due Pay). The very last item that I attempted to speak with someone at the store, I was hung up on twice. I called back a third time and (Essie) answered the phone and I asked to speak with the manager: "Simone" (Apparently Simone asked Essie who was it and I could hear Ms. Essie in the background telling her: (That: It's nobody but Edmond calling again about his pay check) as if though I should not be bothering them with the issue and concern about not receiving my pay. I worked for that store at the Donor Door for a total of Nine (9) Months Faithfully. (As a matter of fact: Due to my having to go in and out of the Donor Door constantly during the winter period, I ended up catching the Flu twice. Nevertheless I never missed a day of work and I was always on time. I maintained great pride in working at the Donor Door and provided exceptional service to the donors. This has got to be one of the cleanest and most well organized thrift stores in the Atlanta area (well, at least out of the stores I frequent). The staff is friendly and it attracts a very diverse crowd. The book section was pretty good, especially the cook books (now I just need to find the time to cook at home). I also picked up a cute little Mikasa baking dish for a dollar. The best find though, was Me Talk Pretty One Day on cassette (yes, I still have a tape deck in my car) and it was also only a dollar. The furniture section looked pretty decent. A friend of mine got some depression glassware there, which is pretty cool. I've done more donating to this Goodwill than shopping at it, but the donation process is always a breeze. A store employee will meet you at the street with a large cart, unload everything from your car, and give you a card saying that you donated (for tax purposes). The few times I've been in there to shop I've been surprised by the quality of items available. I guess the nicer neighborhoods in the area lead to better quality donations and items for sale. The goodwill is what it is. A donations based thrift store that appeals to the masses. This is one of the cleanest ones I've ever been privvy to shop in. It's pretty well organized, everything by color in the clothing areas. The housewares are also well organized, of course they are picked over and some are broken and placed back on the shelf by less than honest patrons. It's a giant store, so it could take a while to wade through everything you want to see. So bring your eagle eyes and your patience if you're going to the Goodwill! read more

When I need some simple housewares or want to spend a day searching through racks full of clothes, I stop at the Goodwill on Buford. I have found a TV, furniture, bowls, silverware, and baskets here. It's hit or miss depending on what's in stock. I have attempted to try on clothes a couple of times, but I'm not a huge fan of the "organized by color" rather than size thing. If you have the patience, you can search through 300 pink shirts and I'm sure you'll find one, but come with a plan. My one gripe is I wanted a dress that was missing a tag and they wouldn't sell it to me because it had to go back through inventory to get the tag. Inconvenient at times, but cheap. read more

I found 2 pairs of shoes, 6 shirts, a set of dishes, and a large non stick pan (none of which had really been used). The last goodwill store I was at didn't have the same quality. This Goodwill is rumored to be one of the best ITP. I did get a fabulous wooden clock for 2 dollars here (and yes it works). I've heard that this is where people drop off their high end pieces to donate. Unless that referred to the fake Prada and fake Kate Spade I saw, this is similar to the rest of the Goodwills in Atlanta. I will say that the cashier I had was truly wonderful. read more
