My go to for dropping off gently used or new items. They recently changed the drop off spot to the side door which was a smart move. It is much less chaotic and there is usually someone there to greet you and take your items. Good hours as well. read more

Goodwill still markets itself as helping people in need, collects tax-deductible donations based on that mission, but prices like a for-profit retailer... It really is highway robbery when they're charging $10 for something they got for free while claiming to serve low-income communities. there was a $10 JCREW BLOUSE I looked up the prices at JCREW OUTLET AND there was a similar blouse for $14 let's look at this objectively.. $14 new vs. $10 used/donated - for a $4 difference, you get: Brand new, never worn Full selection of sizes/colors Can return it if it doesn't fit No stains, wear, or pilling this is pure greed dressed up as nonprofit work... The principle matters here. They're getting that inventory for free, claiming a charitable mission, and then pricing items like they're a boutique consignment shop. A used J.Crew shirt that someone donated specifically so it could help people afford clothing shouldn't be priced at nearly what it would cost on clearance at the actual store. read more

The good is that this place gets a lot of good labels. The day I went, I found Ulla Johnson, Play by Comme de Garcon, lots of new with tags J. Crew, Whit, Reformation top and a Rag & Bone silk shirt (NWT). Comparing pricing to NYC Chelsea Goodwill store, the pricing is midwest pricing so a good 25% less. The Ulla was priced the most at $24.99 but still worth it since even at a Buffalo or Crossroads it would be double the price. The store is clean enough, there are four dressing rooms each with mirrors. The floor workers all seem very tired and overworked since the restock is constant in this store (only the people working the cash register were friendly). The bad is that this place is definitely a resellers go to spot so competition is fierce, lots of ladies not playing nice when going through the racks and the stampede whenever a new rack came out was like a pack of hungry hyenas in the Serengeti. Prices are okay, average basic top around $7.99 - $9.99 range and dresses starting at $14.99. Unlike NYC location, no color tag discounts, the price is what it is. Waits can be long if a dressing room is needed. read more

Very neat and well organized thrift store with a dressing room too. Lots of of very high-end name brand stuff, lightly worn, most likely by the people who live in the area. Parking isn't easy however, it's worth a stop in and even if there's a line to check out, and line for the dressing room. consider trying on your things while you're waiting in line. read more

Loved getting to spend time at the Goodwill store. Tons of inventory to look through, though not the tidiest condition. Pricing is decent from what I was able to see. The closing section is tightly packed and huge. I found it hard to look between clothes. It was also a lot of people there so just give yourself plenty of time to look through it all. read more

We were in the area and decided to stop by. We parked on the street a block away. This store has a lot of people it is extremely busy. They did have a lot of good things. Prices were pretty reasonable. People who worked there kept bringing things out. The kids clothes was pretty good. I would recommend not bringing kids here. The place is small with a lot of people. I normally don't review thrift stores especially chain thrift stores because they all look and operate the same...so I thought. I stopped by here because I was in the area. What a mess! They had more inventory on the floor than hanging up. They seemed to have adequate staffing. They were more concerned about placing new inventory out instead of picking up current inventory. The upsides: The restroom was very clean. The vinyl record section was organized unlike their other stores. Hopefully they get it together by the next time I visit. read more

Nice set up for the flow of browsing. Slim selection for men's clothing. The prices seemed on the higher end of typical thrift stores, but it is near downtown to be fair. There was a long line for two dressing rooms. Otherwise, the dress selection for women is nice! read more

Giving 4 stars for how management handled a less than desirable situation. Way to go!!! I am from Indy and come to Chicago for good eats and thrifting. I've visited this goodwill several times - and always find very unique items at great prices. Pictures included. At checkout we encountered a lady by the name of Sylvia who was very difficult and unpleasant. I concluded my purchase then asked for management.. Dustin came out introduced himself and listened to us thoroughly which I really appreciated. He apologized, said he'd take action and encouraged us to return. I'm happy that instead of giving low stars for that one experience that I'm able to leave feeling like a valued customer. We'll be back! read more

This is a large Goodwill conveniently located in West Loop. I was pretty impressed with the selection! There is a wide variety of stuff on offer, so it is a bit like a treasure hunt! I recommend getting here close to opening. I went on a Friday in the early afternoon and it was quite busy! The staff are pretty friendly, the floor is mostly well organized, and the restrooms are clean. I was able to grab a few housewares for my new apartment that were tagged with the color of the week, so they were 50% off! Everything is tagged individually, which meant that higher quality items are at a higher price point. This is not typical of other Goodwills that I've shopped at. I'll certainly be back to visit this location again! read more

I find good deals at Goodwill. you just have to be patient to look through everything. II've came across quite a few pieces of clothing that were new and still have the tags on them. Not sure if they still have this but you get added discounts on Fridays I believe for college students. A little tough for parking. Not sure if they have their own parking destination but from a view of the neighborhood ,it looks like it's pretty hard to find parking. I do believe they have an area for loading and pick up. I usually just go there for the clothes, but I did notice furniture there as well. read more

This Goodwill lives in a location that has all sorts of things from nearly new team jerseys to designer last season clothes. The more expensive the clothes the smaller the size, but there are plenty of things for more curvy girls. If you are a size 8 and under this could be your playground. If you are an average size 14+ you will have to pick through some duds but you will still find all sorts of clothes for work and play. As for me and many of my neighbors we donate to this location to get rid of clutter and it's always easy to do. They have a drop off lane, large carts to dump the contents of your car and an automated machine that prints off receipts so you can go online and itemize your visit. The only negative to this location is it's extremely busy especially in the spring. There are cars lined up along the street and people are dumping everything from shoes to old toys into a bin just to avoid throwing it in the trash. Some of (a lot of) the stuff you see being tossed in will still go into the trash. Seriously, no one wants your faded tee shirt with grease stains or the toys you have with missing pieces, because this isn't Santa's workshop! I donate here frequently, and even walk through to browse but I never shop. I believe in decreasing clutter not replacing it but I would definitely check them out for vintage well made items that aren't available in stores. read more

kind of expensive for a thrift store- $5-10 for shirts & sweaters that I found had little holes in them. But overall the store was very clean, neatly organized by category (men's/women's sizing, jeans, button ups, by color), and not packed. I'm an intermediate level when it comes to thrifting but I kept putting off going to this Goodwill. I'm glad I finally decided to go, rain or shine that morning. I went here on a very rainy last day of 2018 and it was fantastic. I ended up buying 20 sweaters, pants and home goods for $105 total. The place is huge and there's tons of choices and racks but very organized. They even have special racks for those very expensive jeans like Religion and 7. I myself snagged some Levi's. They have 3 fitting rooms and I never had to wait for one to open up. The cashiers are also very efficient in ringing me up. I can't wait to come back here and shop for summer clothes after the season is over. read more

I waited in line to get in here. I just wanted a suitcase. I watched cars pull up and drop off pretty high quality looking stuff. I guess they sell that somewhere else. This was a very disorganized place. The clothing wasn't hanging in any discernible order. I found a size 6 pant next to a size 12 pant. It happened repeatedly so I discarded the notion that it was a messy customer. I did one round and bounced. Maybe there's a special day where they put out new arrivals. This Goodwill is located at a quiet, near west side neighborhood. If you choose to donate, the drop-off is pretty easy because there's an associate who will help you unload your donations at the thrift-store entrance. However, they no longer accept television sets as of December 2014. The entire store was bright and well-lit. I saw that they organized their apparel by sizes; nevertheless, the light-to-dark color coordination strategy was utilized within each size specification. As the result, It was very easy to shop. Their clothing organizations are probably one of the best I've seen so far during my ongoing thrift-store quest. Their decisions on price-point seemed to be standardized as well. Women's basics and blouses typically run between $4.99 to $5.99; sweaters and wraps typically run between $6.99 to $7.99. I think the prices are fair for most conditions of their clothing. If you lack patience and want bargains, I will suggest you to check out Goodwill. However, I like the price-points at Unique Thrift Stores (half-Monday sales only) and Village Discount Outlets (they set their prices lower than most other chains or independent thrift shops...but their half-off sales are fantastic) better. I didn't really walk through men's and children's, assuming the same principles apply. They had a section featuring the "bucket" sneakers. Those sneakers had awesome Mexican art. I found a pair of sugar skull sneakers, but the mates didn't match and they were slightly large. Overall, this is a great thrift shop and parking nearby isn't to difficult, from what I could see. I got off at the CTA Morgan Pink/Green line station and walked southwest until reaching the destination. The walk was within a reasonable time, approximately ten (10) minutes. read more

I love this goodwill but do yourself a favor and do NOT come here during the COVID-19 pandemic, as long as capacity restrictions are in place. Unless you're going at an extremely odd hour and have time to kill. They are only allowing 12 people inside at a time and a 30 minute time limit. I passed by once after 5 on a weekday and once on the weekend and both times the lines were 1+ hours long. TIP: If you have a car, there are several other goodwills you could get to in only a fraction of the line time here, that do not have capacity or time limits! I ended up going to the one in North Riverside and it was empty and the best decision! read more

I went to Goodwill because my friend suggested me to and said that this store is a nice thrift store. It is my first time in this store. The store is packed and I did not expected that and I think it reaches the capacity based on the restrictions. It's a good thing that as a minute pass by some are leaving so I decided to continue. The store is clean and well organized. There are a lot of nice items that it all looks new. Most of the items has a good quality. I took my time on choosing the best item and almost after an hour I decided to just have a few pieces of shirts and trousers. The line was a bit long but the staff when I was checking out was so nice and friendly. I got the items and was happy about its price because it was so cheap. A really good price for a thrift but good quality clothes. I had a great experience in here and I would definitely love to come back. read more

Their staff are so helpful and friendly, they have a lot of work to do but they still considering to help the customers. Everyone here is amazing. You can always find great things at this store, and all of their items has great prices. Lots of selection of their clothes, jewelry, and more of their products. All of their items has a good quality, and you will be satisfied buying things at their store. Plus, you can also donate at their store, and it will be easy unlike in other store. Their staff are always ready to help so that you can easily drop your donations. This place is a solid Goodwill and there are great finds here. You will find good designer clothes from banana republic, the loft, penguin, and so much more. The organization with color is pretty spot on for clothing. You also might get lucky with finding clothing that is half off as well. In terms of how size is organized is lightly a hit or miss, so make sure to double check the store tag and the clothing tag to ensure you have the right size. Store is a tad messy in general but it is all good when you can find those deals easily. read more

This location is smaller than other Goodwills I've been to. That wasn't the issue, though. The store was very messy / disorganized. And there was a strong, unpleasant smell, unfortunately. Maybe cologne? The store bcame more and more crowded. My friend and I only lasted about 20 minutes before we gave up searching. It was late on a Weds afternoon (4-5pm) when we visited. read more

First time at a Goodwill in the states! Was hoping to find authentic items revolving around Chicago's home sport teams. However, for a mid-afternoon visit on a Monday it was rather busy! There are a small amount of change rooms to use so I wasn't too eager to start trying things on. Chances are if there was a rare clothing piece or cool item, it was probably bought before you got there! There other miscellaneous items are placed in boxes or bins for you to scramble through which made it rather difficult. read more

I have to say that I was pretty impressed by this Goodwill location. The store was surprisingly clean. Everything in the clothing section appeared to be tagged and priced accordingly and the books and DVDs also seemed to be in great condition. There's a housewares section where you can find just about any kitchen utensil and the employees were also quite helpful and made getting a gift receipt for my donated items very easy. Parking in this area is a bit of a pain but they do have a loading zone directly in front of you're dropping off something big or leaving with something heavy. Also, another small negative is that there weren't many pants sizes for women above 12 (this obviously depends on donations) but the racks were marked as if they went up to size 20. Seems like there might be a better way to organize items. read more

This is a decent goodwill. I often find cashmere sweaters and silk blouses. I've also found a number of designer clutches. Once I came across a pair of silk, Gucci trousers that fit me perfect! It's fairly organized, plus, they are steadily putting out new things which is nice. One downfall is that this goodwill can be quite crowded. There's often a wait at the dressing rooms.
