Dumpy, dirty store that is mostly unorganized. They have so many "rounders" that you can barely shop. Majority of the clothes are old, poorly made and overpriced. New managers increased prices for greed reasons. Now all the bags are EXPENSIVE and they punch holes in the middle of the fabric but still want $21.99 per USED bag. Some of the cashiers are outspoken and rude. Goodwill is disappointing and should be avoided. read more

Went to this thrift store on March 6th, 2026 at 8:30 PM. Once I went to the check out at 8:54 (they close at 9), Jasper M the cashier asked my friend and I why we were at the thrift store at a 9PM on a Friday night. The employee then proceeded to passively aggressively tell us he is there 8 hours a day, to which my friend and I did not respond. Bad customer service and should not be blaming customers for coming in. Don't usually write bad reviews but that was just extremely rude and unnecessary. Maybe he was just having a bad night and is hopefully not like that with all customers. read more

Some interesting things to see. Lots of clothes. Not difficult to find. Staff friendly.

Some days I don't find anything, but some days I find tons of cool stuff! Though there are more good then bad days here. I recently found a side tables here for just $6, that I refinished and sold for a great profit! And if you look hard enough you can also find some great clothing brands in good condition as well! Though I will admit it's a little on the dirty side in here. Overall this isn't the best thrift store I've been to, but it's definitely in my top 5! read more

On May 14th there was only 1 dressing room open and 8 people waiting in line. I talked to the manager who said it keeps theft down as there is less activity to monitor and they refused to open more rooms. Most of the people in the line were over 50 yo and I can't believe the manager believes having one room open instead of 3 is going to keep theft down, especially because no staff were keeping an eye on things, but a couple of employees were milling around doing nothing. People can steal just as easily from one room as 3. This isn't fair to customers. I had to wait in line for 20 minutes. Get rid of this ridiculous policy! If you are so concerned about shop lifting, then have an employee posted at the rooms. You get all your clothing for free, so surely you can absorb a little loss like other businesses do who have to actually pay for their product? read more

I get its a good will but still top 3 worst experiences ive ever had. It felt dirty just walking around and im not a big fan of guys walking around with their back infront of them covering their (im assuming illegal aswell) firearm. Continued when i went to check out when the guy took 10 mins to ring up 5 shirts and tried to grab my card from my hand 5 times. And i think the reader still think skimmed my card, 0/10 worst goodwill location possible dont come here unless youre willing to catch a stray. read more

Tried to drop-off a leather couch in good condition (no scratches, tears). Immediately we could tell that the employee didn't want to lift the couch out of our vehicle. As we started to remove the couch (without his help) he noticed some discoloration on the underside of the attached cushion. "Oh, we can't take this." This is supposed to be a donation center. Do they expect brand new items. Lazy employees! read more

The middle aged gentlemen that is working there is extremely rude. They give no time warnings they just shot the lights off and we were told we have 10 minutes to pick our stuff and pay by the nice woman working. Immediately after the guy walked up to us saying we need to get out and come back tomorrow if we want to buy stuff he just closed the register and we need to leave in a very hostile tone. We had a CART full of purchases that we had to leave behind. Very disheartening the way they treat their customers. Will definitely not be returning. read more

We will NEVER donate to Goodwill again. We spent HOURS organizing our donation and bubble wrapping fragile items. As soon as we arrived, the older gentleman that works the donation drop off was rude and repeatedly started swearing and saying "Jesus Christ" over and over again. As we were helping unload, he started dumping our well packed boxes into the bin with no regard as to whether they were marked fragile or not. Once he realized he had just shattered a number of items, he started cursing again. By the time we left, he made us feel as if we had inconvenienced him so much that we were apologizing. We returned later that day with our furniture donations - the same gentleman came over and went on a rant that the Lafayette store is a small store that does not need any further items, so do not return. It amazes me that this is the attitude of a store that relies on donations to keep the doors open! read more

Normally shopping at a thrift store is a rather painless experience. You stroll the aisles, find what you want; usually for much less than you would pay at a normal retail store. You check out with the cashier and leave happy. This is not the case at the Good Will in Lafayette. The items, while standard for a Good Will, are ridiculously overpriced. The staff is rude to the point where they actually insult you. Dropping off donations is even worse. I stopped by on a Saturday morning to donate some items that were of far higher quality than the average merchandise they carry. A man came out, not to greet me, but to harass and accuse me of dropping off items the previous night. He threatened to call the police. For what I am not sure. I called the store and asked for the manager. She was not at all concerned with the fact that one of her employees threatened someone donating high quality goods. This store is ran by the most incompetent dregs of Boulder County. In the current economy, there is absolutely no excuse for retaining incompetent dullards. I live within a mile of the Lafayette Good Will, but I would sooner drive to the Good Will in Grand Junction than shop at the Good Will in Lafayette. Its very existence degrades the integrity of Lafayette. The sooner its gone the better off our town will be. read more

I shop here often, several times a month at least. The entry way where they park carts ALWAYS smells bad. I could not walk through the doors with out gagging when pregnant recently. The prices are never consistent. Often times I will see items marked 3.99-5.99 that came from the dollar store next door. Who ever does the prices should probably learn a thing or two about brands and retail price. They are a good place to find gently used kids clothing but you really have to know where the items came from (which store) to be able to decide if the price is right. For example Circo = Target. Greenbrier = dollar store etc. Would give more stars if they just figure out what is stinking in the entrance! read more

Despite the nay-sayers, this Goodwill is a gold mine for practiced thrifters. It has cleaner, nicer items than most (suitable per location); Although small, it has a lot to offer. You just have to be willing to take the time. Everyone is always friendly, the store is clean, has fresh air, and they have a little bit of everything! I have never found so many genuine antiques and collectibles in good condition and arm fulls of clothes everytime I go. High points are the knick knacks: organized by color, and clothing/jackets and shoes. Good for lamps too. Not the best for furniture (small selection) but there's an occasional gem. It is hard for me not to stop here every time I drive by. In my top 3 Goodwill. read more

I am surprised at some of the negative reviews - mostly about dropping off items (about which I have no knowledge) and some of the negative reviews are older - so no longer may be applicable. I personally LOVE this Goodwill location. It is clean, organized nicely, GREAT bargains and hardly ever have to wait in line. One of my very favorite places to shop. read more

Absolutely DO NOT donate here! I am so mad, sick and heartbroken right now. I have always supported Goodwill by shopping there for things to reuse or donating thousands upon a thousands of dollars of things over the years, instead of donating elsewhere or selling online. I thought I was helping support a good cause. Lately, I have finally found some strength to go through more of my mom's and sister's things. It has taken me 6 years to get to this because I have a melt down every time I go through things that take me back to the time when my mom, sisters, brother and aunt were still alive and I had a family. Losing someone is really hard, losing everyone when you are still young is beyond anything I am capable of explaining to someone who hasn't experienced it. I ended up with tons of things that could be sold. Since I have so much to deal with, I packed up the usual clothes, toys and kitchen stuff, along with some glassware, art, candle holders, picture frames, etc. Since I had a lot of breakable and fragile things, I packed them carefully, wrapped, etc. After driving to Goodwill happy that someone else would be able to love these items as much as my mom, sister, me and my kids had, the people receiving items brought out a new 4' X 4' X 4' crate box and proceeded to dump each box out into the crate from 4' in the air. I specifically told them that the boxes had breakables and they still proceeded to dump everything right in front of me. I managed to get them to take two boxes inside but I know many fragile things got dumped. There is absolutely no chance that anything was left undamaged (even simple things like old piggy banks my kids had when they were little) and glass candle holders that my mom bought. I'm sure most of it was destroyed. I will NEVER set foot in one of their stores again and I will NEVER give them anything ever again. If you value anything you ever intend to donate, I urge you to go elsewhere. I intend to write the manager, regional office and corporate office about their absolute lack of regard for donors and for the items being given to them for free to support their cause. read more

I like this little Goodwill Store. They recently got a new manager (May 2014) and it's gotten better. I like that they take all the 50% off sale stuff and put it all on one big rack. I always find cute clothes here. They have very limited housewares and furniture, but plenty of knick knacks and women's clothes, and some kids stuff. They have a ton of books, but they don't organize them by subject, so it's hard to browse. read more

Always find good stuff here! Generally higher quality items and clothing brands and it seems like there is new stuff to pick through every time I go (which isn't much -- maybe every 3-4 weeks). I love thrift store shopping, and this used to be a favorite until every Saturday morning the staff would let their friends and other 'relatives' in the back room to cherry pick the merchandise... That just isn't cool. Also within the last 6 months the stores cleanliness has degraded to the point of embarassment. I wish the management would do something about it. read more

I love thrift store shopping because of the hidden treasures I can always find. I generally have no problem except I had this happen twice in a row so i thought I'd mention it because it just isn't right. I donate regularly to various charity organizations and buying things from charitable thrift stores they received through donations (paid nothing for) and buying those items is a "charitable" act in itself. Often times, I am asked at other charitable thrift stores if I want to round-up to support/donation to their organization. This particular Goodwill AUTOMATICALLY rounds you up to the nearest dollar without even asking the customer! Yes, it's less than a dollar most times but STILL I think they should at least ask you before they add their donation to your bill. Cashier named Elizabeth did this to me two times in one week. Completely unethical pricing. For a set of those gloves you can find at the dollar store which is next door, they were charging 3-5.00. I walked around a bit, but it was extremely dirty and not much to look at. They had crazy high pricing on things I wouldn't even want for free. It was a bit bizarre and just seemed unethical considering it's a thrift store where people go to buy used items for cheap. Note to self and others: if you can buy new stuff cheaper than don't support a business like this. I usually like Goodwill but this one seemed like a shaft business. read more

Nobody seems to be able to count at this store. When it's a 'buy one, get one' day they routinely still charge for both items. Probably because they know people aren't going to haggle with a charity. Today they rang my highest priced item through twice, didn't give the 50% off on the white tag item and then rang through the 'free', item. The cost to me above what it should have been if they did it correctly -$6.50. It may not seem much, but it's the principal that counts. Plus the store is never clean. read more

Best selection of lightly used stuff in the metro area, once a month 1/2 price day. Friendly staff, lots of parking and easy to get to. Maclemore would live this place!! read more
