I like having a Goodwill near the house, making it easy to drop off a load of my "too big now that I lost weight" clothes and other assorted items that I don't have a use for anymore. The drive up donation center is another plus; remember having to lug everything to that separate door, back in the day? I just can't go higher on my score given the inconsistency of the staff at the donation center. Some days they are friendly and offer to assist you in unloading your items. I mean Goodwill is Goodwill. It's cluttered, dusty and maybe even a little musty. It's a mystery every time of what treasures you may or may not find. What struck me the most about this location was how friendly, kind and pleasant the staff were. I asked one person's opinion of a unique green colored shirt, "can I pull this color off?" The staff person was happy to offer her reassuring opinion that indeed I could pull off the pea green. I even wore the pea green shirt to work the following day. The cashier was just as friendly. She was happy to take time to look up my Goodwill card information and sign me up for a new card. And, honey she even laughed at my relatively unfunny jokes. Should this be a 4 instead of a 3? Maybe. Probably. Is cluttered and dusty inevitable with all Goodwill locations? This store seems to need more space to put out everything. Rather, they've put it out and it's crowded and difficult to assess what's available. But honey they'll put a smile on your face! read more

This goodwill is a solid go-to for: -fake fruit bowls -strange coffee mugs -scary figurines -general white elephant awesomeness ALSO: I've actually found clothes I really dig here. If you're patient and you have the time to dig, you'll find rad vintage stuff, or cute dresses or whatever. I found my Cirque du Yelpe ringmaster jacket here for five dollars. It fits like a dream, and is pretty damn cute (if I do say so myself). As far as thrift stores go, it's pretty well kept up and there's an extremely varied selection of items. This is for sure a go-to on the thrift rotation. If you don't like thrift stores, don't go. You know what you're getting into. Also, bring hand sanitizer for after you're done and you get into the car. You've probably touched a lot of stuff that other people have touched, and well... ewww. read more

If you know me, you know I love a good thrift store, and this while not the largest goodwill in the area has an awesome selection. I like it better than the new location on oakland, and it's closer and easier to navigate than the one on burleigh and 124th or the one off silver spring. I've gotten my fav "little black dress" here that is my default outfit for many a good time or dinner out. I've gotten a zillion other charlotte russe or other girly dresses here. I also bought this vase and perfume tin here that sit on my dresser and really class up the place. Other things: Cute purses, shoes not so much - or at least picked over when I've looked. Furniture usually seems either expensive here or picked over. good selection of home goods.... think holiday and other knicknacks, candles, etc. If you're willing to dig, you'll find good selection of goodies in the women's bin where everything is like $1.59 or thereabouts. They do a lot of coupons, promos. Be sure to sign up for a goodwill card - you'll always get a 5% discount if you spend over $20 and they'll send you a 25% off coupon on your birthday. (You know you are a piece of work when you need a coupon to shop and goodwill :) Also, Sundays and I think Mondays are their sale days - when you get special discounts on whatever color tag they chose for that day. read more

This Goodwill can be a hit or miss, which isn't their fault. I find that this one has less furniture overall, and that it could be arranged better. This Goodwill also seems to be a little more difficult to find someone to open the fitting rooms. (The one on Oakland always has someone right there to assist you.) Other than that, what can I say? We went in with only an hour to browse. My shopping companion was fixated on jeans while I was amused by the children playing in the aisles instead of looking @ curtains. So much stuff to look at. Definitely need patience and energy to comb the large selection for something that fits. The staff over all is really friendly and casual. This location is quite large and I rarely walk out without purchasing something. Target sends a lot of clearanced out items here and I reap all of the benefits of this. Things I've found from target unused: furniture, purses, shoes, tights, vases and even face wash. So awesome. This location has tons of clothes, books, furniture and kitschy items. There are lots of fitting rooms if you want to make sure clothes fit. I've been able to find lots of middle of the road brands here which is just fine for me. Brands including: Anne Taylor, target stuff, Gap and banana republic. Great prices, I feel like they are really fair with their pricing. i dont know how anyone can complain about goodwill. i once purchased a german version of flinstones memory here for $1.49. I am forever indebted to this place. I have found numerous little gems from jorts to wigs to cat mugs. please. if you give this place lower than a 4 you need to check yourself before you wreck yourself... the only reason i didnt give them a 5 is because i think ive been the 13th person in line here before... but i get it. people need their jorts (jean-shorts). read more

So, I am the first to admit that I do not have the patience for trifting but I get jelly belly of those that snag cool things at thrift store. I went here the other day to find a bridesmaid dress for the Yelp Matriphony but did not have any luck. However, they have a great selection of denim, shoes, and overall household things. Everything is neatly organized and clean. There isn't that "old lady" smell right when you walk in (which sometimes makes me nauseated.) People from all walks of life like to thrift and that was evident by the Jag parked in the lot. I will admit, I frequent this place for dropping off my items because it is so darn convenient. You just pull up to through the drive through, pop the trunk and someone comes out and grabs your stuff! Household clutter problem: Done. Noteworthy: They accept electronics otherwise known as E-waste. They accept broken electronics, including TVs free of charge. Please use them for a recycling outlet (instead of the ditch) .Plus, Goodwill rocks as a non-profit and does really good things for the community. read more

I love this particular Goodwill, and I've been to many. As with any location, it's hit or miss on any single day, but I stop rather frequently and find that it pretty consistently has excellent stuff. Its location makes it easy to park or drop off donations. The store itself is also rather spacious and fairly well organized. There's a good selection of men's and women's clothing, shoes, and household items. It's my go-to for bargain hunting, and my favorite location in the Milwaukee area. read more

My friend purchased an antique couch, and was told to pick it up by 9pm today. We broke our backs trying to get rid of old (but gently used, and still very nice) couch. When we arrived at the Goodwill to get it, they said they already sold it. The guy who loads trucks went to get the manager. The manager said "Hi, I am not sure what is going on, but I'll try to help you figure out what happened to your item." I told her that it wasn't mine and asked her to just please answer with yes or no about whether or not it had been sold. She would not say that they sold it. She kept trying to explain the system that they use, and how it's flawless and makes no sense that it isn't there. She would not say that it was sold and would not accept responsibility or apologize for the mistake. We went back and forth 3 times like this, and she would not admit that she made a mistake. She said that we should have come earlier, and that everyone wanted that couch. I think that is ridiculous, my friend purchased that item and followed the rules. The manager should have done her job and apologized on behalf of the company and the mistake and offered to refund the money and perhaps more to make up for it. It was a mistake just admit to it. She seemed to be on too much of a high horse to admit that they made a mistake. What creep, just admit you made a mistake. Don't waste a ton of other people's time explaining how your "perfect sytem" shouldn't have failed. She seems to be a ridiculous person with a superiority complex. read more

The workers here are just terrible and ignorant. Every single worker looks extremely angry and are less than appealing to talk to. I am almost scared to ask for assistance. Whenever I ask for a dressing room or ask someone to open the show case for me, they act like I just asked them the most inconvenient favor. This shouldn't be a big deal to assist me. Sorry I'm making you do your JOB. This is a primarily black populated Goodwill, which shouldn't be an issue. But the workers treat white people as if they are the worst scum on earth and act annoyed at everything we do. This Goodwill should REALLY re-evaluate their staff! read more
