My worst experience as a shopper. The resellers are aggressive, the management is aware for years and nothing has been done . The safety of the other customers is my question to the store manager. I've seen pictures from yahoo and complaints after complaints during a whole year without the regional manager investigating the disaster in that store. Next step is Better Business Bureau. Avoid at all costs if you don't want to leave reeking! This place stinks. Like it actually smells. Sometime in the last few years, Goodwill of Greater Milwaukee and Chicago decided to take a chunk of the money they make off of other people's donations and invest in ScentBridge. They pump the most godawful, overwhelming odors throughout their stores. Sometimes, it is dialed to a minimum, but usually it's on full blast and it clings to everything. To books of course, but to metal bowls too. It's so bad, my boyfriend asks me to shower as soon as I come home. An avid book collector, he now refuses anything from the local goodwills, because unlike metal bowls or clothes, you can't wash books. Corporate says the scents aren't harmful, but my nose and head beg to differ. I can't spend 15 minutes inside a local goodwill without my nose running becoming inflamed. Another 10 minutes and i start sneezing and my head pounds. ScentBridge markets its products as regulated by IFRA. IFRA, mind you, is an industry-based self-regulating organization plagued by criticism for its lack of transparency and for acting in its own self-interest. In keeping with the spirit of secrecy, goodwill refuses to disclose a list of its scent's ingredients. For all we know, the scents contain carcinogens or other harmful chemicals. I'm far from the only one who has complained: friends and family can't stand the stench, strangers have also reached out to corporate, and even employees tell me they hate the smell and prefer the scent of used clothes to the ScentBridge garbage. Unfortunately, it can't be turned off locally. This location also stinks figuratively for reasons already mentioned in other reviews. read more

It is shameful this location lost its mission. They are obviously trying to make Money. For awhile now you could not find treasures here as they online auction anything that may have value. Now they are trying to make money on clothing. Anything with a more desirable label is marked up, no matter what the condition. For instance a men's Tommy Bahama sweatshirt that was pretty beat up and had a hole in it was $9.99. I looked further and any Tommy Bahama shirt was the same price. Other sweats were $4.99 to 6.99. This is donated stuff!!!!! It costs them nothing. I will no longer donate to them because those in need should get anything for a fair price. Shame on Goodwill. They should change their name. read more

I have been a customer of this store for a long time, and it's unfortunate that all customers are not given the same opportunity. In the past few weeks there are two women who are getting tipped off on merchandise coming from the back room. I wish I was friends with the cart pushers so I could have a chance at good items. read more

Oh, this used to be a great place to shop. Not anymore! As of January 1, they discontinued, all discounts, including military discount, senior citizens, discount, and color of the day discounts. Now, when you go through, they have a large variety of very, very, very overpriced items. A goodwill, won't be back! Found a few sweaters, cool worn in hats, two nice belts, and even a pair of leather patch Carhartt jeans in my size. Paid about $40- pretty good for what I got, 8/10 would recommend. read more

I always loved the Mundelein Goodwill location... but I just learned that effective Jan 1, 2025, there will be no more discount days.... No Senior discount days, no Military discount days, and no more color tag 50% off days. But I think they may do "buy 1 get 1 half off". But, they began pricing many of their items so high... in some cases, higher than what they are worth... Dollar tree items for example. I may be bringing my donations elsewhere instead. I may donate to Savers, House of Hope, Sparrows Nest... time will tell. read more

The shelves are not well organized with stuff piled on top of other stuff. I wish I was wearing gloves when I picked up very dusty things. The used men's shirts are a bit overpriced, but what isn't these days. The grab bags are a nice idea, but you rarely need 10 of the same thing. read more

Caution . This location will consider your donation Looting if you donate after they are closed . But they have no problem bringing in the donations and placing them on their shelf for sale the next day . My kids and I decided to do something nice and donate many good toys new blankets and more only to be welcomed to rude comments by a female Karen that we were looting because we were there 1/2 after closing . Scared my kids with her arrogance and ignorance but sure enough brought all donations in so they can sell them . I will never donate to Goodwill again . Many other places to donate to that have better people skills . Bad experience ! read more

Whaaat! So my 'auntie my Helen' and I drove here yesterday. Standing in line to get in we were numbers 2 and 3 in the cold! Right off the bat she found the lamps of her dreams and I found this hot floor mirror encased in leather!!! For $24.99!! I hurried up and got it. Very clean and organized store. One of the best Goodwill stores that I have been to, hands down. Will definitely visit again. read more

I've never had any issues donating items here and the racks and items are always organized. I like the color coordinating of shirts, sweaters, etc.., made it easier to browse clothes. read more

Best Goodwill I've been to. The new no return policy -- dont like that. Cant risk buying electronics because they haven't lowered their prices. This store is clean and extremely well organized. They make a point to not let the lines get too long. Goodwill pricing over all has risen and is getting too high overall. This is corporate, not store driven. read more

I am a college student who was in desperate need for a printer. Cheap printers are upwards of $130 so when I came across the Hp Photosmart D110a in store for $6.99, I picked it up immediately. I searched for a printer cord to test it to make sure that it worked but for some reason there were none. They were selling all kinds of printers but no compatible cords for any of them. Interesting right? I assumed they wouldn't put broken or dead printers out onto their sales floor so I bought it anyway and then ordered the correct cord on Amazon once I got home. Upon receiving the cord, I plugged the printer in, all excited to finally be able to print my assignments, and sure enough, the printer doesn't work. Tried multiple outlets, tried holding the power button, tapping it, and nothing. The printer simply doesn't work. I stupidly threw all my bags and receipts away after I got home so I know there probably isn't anyway to get my money back. This is just a warning to all those shopping for electronics here: don't. They won't work. read more
