Worst. . .Goodwill. . .Ever. I asked my local Goodwill why this store was so much less organized than others. Their answer was simple. The regional manager, doesn't advocate cleaning the store DURING store hours. Basically, a large lack of retail experience. My hope is the Regional Manager of Goodwill will see this, and respond in kind. Three big problems. 1. Find a way to deal with the vultures. I can honestly tell you that my wife and I stop in here once a week. It's always on random days. . .and the SAME people are standing in the center aisle, waiting for the employees to bring out more stuff. It's honestly a fire hazard. If you're going to allow these people to hang out ALL day, then you need to widen the center aisle. 2. Families. Too many people bring their entire family here, and then don't even bother watching their kids. TWO signs, and some general upkeep could fix these last two problems. 3. You might think to yourself. . ."OOOOOOh, Naperville. Must be a lot of real expensive stuff coming here. You're wrong. Almost everything good that is donated at this location, is shipped to other locations. Ever REALLY preuse though the electronics. They're the worst of the worst (as far as Goodwill's are concerned). Just go to any other goodwill and you'll see electronics that are in much better shape. Two stars is being generous. I added the second star because their Drop-off service is pretty slick. No hassle, just open the trunk and be on your way. BTW. Check out Saver's. It just opened not even a half mile from Goodwill. Organized, no vultures. read more

This goodwill is constantly a mess. Every time I have gone there nothing is organized or in the right sizes like it should be. There are clothes and hangers on the floor. I only go there when I am in a time crunch otherwise I drive to downers grove lombard or even the elmhurst store. Those stores are always clean and organized. read more

This place is ridiculous and I do not wish to return to this location ever again. The customers try to steal things from your cart, when they bring out the cart with new merchandize it becomes every man for himself and there is one person who kept yelling, "it's mine don't touch it," and if you try and speak to said person, she immediately becomes aggressive with you. I don't need the hassle of people trying to pick a fight with me. A previous person stated that this store needed a security guard and I agree with him, because the store is chaotic. read more

This store needs a security person to maintain order when they roll out the carts...whole families seem to camp out there all day and i have even seen mothers have their kids bum rush the carts. I hope they get it under control; it's like black Friday shopping every time i go to this store. read more

I like thrift stores. This place is the closest to my house and tends to have a much higher rate of donations than most other thrift stores I go to. I go here because of the movies/books/vinyl selection. If you're looking for good classics come here. Don't waste your time on postage. Naperville donations are pretty much the best selection you can find. I've built a library solely from shopping here. The prices are generously marked. I would like to point out one last thing. This place can get very busy mostly on Weekends. Beware of the lady that mauls over customers if you're in her way. She doesn't like people shopping next to the green bins (stand 5 feet away). This store is ultra busy most any hour of the day, there is a group of loyal patrons that basically spend the day there socializing and waiting for their treasures to arrive. the aisles are crowded and navigating past people can be tricky if your first language is English (no hatred here, just stating a fact) The store manager needs to work on his general demeanor as he seems terse and rarely smiles at anyone including his staff. read more

I've not found anything for myself here, but my husband has found a few useful things, like storage bins. The pickings are pretty slim unless you're looking for first apartment furnishings, etc. I award it stars just for the convenience of having a place that will take my old clothes and toys. read more

I waited in the donation drop off lane for over 20 minutes. There was 1 car in front of me and 5 behind me. After patiently waiting, I got out and put my donations at the door. I noticed there were 2 boys sorting things inside. They must have seen me, so they came out. I figured since they were sorting, and not unloading customer's donations from cars, they didn't realize how long the line was. So I nicely asked if they realized there were 7 cars waiting, and one boy rudely said," I know! We have stuff to do!" After that an older man, ( I called later, and described him and was told he was Dan) came out and scolded me for getting out of my car and disobeying their sign. I explained to him how long everyone was waiting, and that both lanes weren't being used, so it was safe for me to get out, etc. Instead of THANKING ME for my donation, and APOLOGIZING for the long wait, he continued to raise his voice at me and tell me about social distancing, etc. I assured him I was nowhere near the employees as I dropped off my boxes, since they were inside. He then said, "If you can't read the signs, you don't need to come here!" I have been donating/supporting this location since it was built. There are plenty of other places to donate and I definitely won't be supporting them anymore. read more

I am a regular Goodwill shopper at about 5 or 6 Western Suburban locations, and this one I continue to find below par in terms of organization and cleanliness. There is more clothing misfiled in the wrong size area more than you'd think. My recent experience was mid-day on a week day. I went to the Woodridge location immediately following and it was incredibly clean and neat. At Naperville it also feels cramped in there versus other locations. One worker was in a wheelchair, and he could hardly fit through the area between the dressing rooms and the racks of clothing. I love Goodwill but this one needs a little TLC! read more

Compared to other Goodwill's, this one takes the cake. I always seem to find a good treasure here! There are always plenty of Target hand-me-down's at reasonable prices, and this is a large store. Lots of shoes, dresses, and household items are always available. Household item variety is much better than at Saver's, but all around, I prefer Saver's around the corner. Though, if you're in the area, may as well go to both! read more

Far from where I live but their inventory rocks. Every visit, I walk out with brand-name/designer clothing in great condition. I mean it IS Naperville. The staff is very friendly as well! Someone has recently taken this store in hand and improved the organization and display of the merchandise. Also it smells better--unfortunately people don't always launder their clothes before donating (hint). There is a lot of clothing--it takes a while to peruse. The selection of glassware and kitchenware is decent. I scored a nearly new Henckels knife block for $3.99. It's not a good place to look for furniture; the store is too small to stock much more than a few chairs and plastic bookcases. There is a decent book/DVD section. Donating is easy--there is a covered drive-through drop-off on the side of the building. read more

Busy little place. There is a lot of random stuff, some brand new from neighboring store donations and others used from donations. Some really high quality stuff and some really junky stuff. The store is nice, bright, and clean although because it is so busy sometimes difficult to get through. I would go back, but be prepared to be squeezing through. read more

I'm really suprised to see how many people said they couldn't find decent clothes here. Maybe I just got lucky, but when I went today I found 3 cute summer skirts for 12 bucks total. 12 bucks! Just plan on going when you have some time to spare. It's worth not rushing in order to find a few nice things. The prices are pretty reasonable in my opinion, but I do take off 1 star because it can get a little crowded. read more

I've been disappointed with general upkeep and item selection available at Goodwill Stores in the Chicago area. I was very pleasantly surprised when I stopped in at this location. Very neatly organized shop and there was a wide variety in items to select from. Prices were generally reasonable, but there were items that were priced very high too. I snagged a bunch of good items, especially because I knew the real value of the items I got - couple of branded watches for $7 each (fossil, guess), a swiss gear backpack for $7. If you join the Goodwill club and buy stuff for more than $20, you can save 5%. I saw a good collection of ladies hand bags as well. My only complaint is that the books section was somewhat overpriced. Tiny kids books were priced at $0.79 or something very close. I used to buy those books for a dime at other Goodwill stores. read more

As a frequent Goodwill shopper, this one was incredibly disappointing. I went on a Sunday, when there where an insane amount of people - so many it was impossible to move through the aisles. People EVERYWHERE. I seriously couldn't even shop. Very shady crowd which made me uncomfortable. A bunch of Mexican guys standing around waiting to see what furniture is brought out next, to see if they can load it up on their trucks & make some kind of profit on it. Because we were jam packed, my cart accidentally caught the heel of an old man in front of me. Before I could apologize, the man turns around and gives me an incredibly rude remark which I will not repeat here. Needless to say I just wanted to leave. To make matters worse, I didn't even find anything good. Maybe I could have if I had had time to peruse the aisles without having to move out of someone's way every minute. Furniture was mostly all broken and very run-down - pretty typical of Goodwill, I guess, but there was one gorgeous chair that I would have bought if it wasn't overpriced ($60). They also wanted $30 for a trash can. Yes, a trash can. I will not be coming back here, I had a much better experience at Savers next door! read more

So much for *GOOD*will. This store in particular, just proves the that the negative rumors surrounding the company are true. This Goodwill will happily take your donations and sell them for INSULTING prices because profit is more important to them than supplying affordable goods to the needy. We all know that the profit is not going to the disabled employees that they claim to help. I used to be a regular and have found myself visiting less and less due to their outrageous prices, terrible customer service, ignorant employees, broken, junk items, crowds and chaos. Your brain will subconsciously convert into a fight or flight response upon entering this establishment. The parking lot is always overfull, the shelves and racks are a disaster, customers attack bins like vultures, and the employees are ever always frantically rearranging things within your personal space. If you are actually able to get a cart, you won't be able to navigate around the cast off hangers, clothes, shoes and toys littering the floor. Why bother arranging knick-knacks on a shelf, when the floor is posing a safety hazard??? If you ever come across multiples of an item, make sure you check each price, because they will almost always be priced differently despite being the same. Then there's the price jacking on Target donations and used Dollar Tree (Greenbriar Intl.) items found priced over $1. If all of those things don't turn you off, then you will surely be outraged at the thoughtful placement of price stickers right on top of the labels or otherwise on the most delicate area of an item. Items get ruined and product's info gets obstructed by a tag that never peels off cleanly. You will also notice countless items that have pairs or multiple pieces/parts, get divided and priced SEPARATELY without any care whatsoever. E.g.:salt & pepper shakers, Teacups & saucers etc. Once I actually spotted a landline telephone priced separately from it's base. I am not kidding. What's next Naperville GW? Shoes priced separately? The final straw occurred this past Sunday. My mom came across a Ceramic Halloween Decoration by a known collectible brand "Dept. 56". It was something as silly as a Halloween decoration that my mother had wanted for over 30 years. She was so excited to find it at Goodwill because money is extremely tight right now. She planned to buy it assuming that it would be affordable considering she was shopping in a THRIFT STORE. However, it was the exact opposite. Naperville Goodwill thought that ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS would be a good price for this item. Thinking it was a mistake, my mom asked about it and they confirmed that $100 was indeed the price. The reasoning: they had found an Ebay listing where the same item was listed for $200. What??????? Wait a second. Did I just teleport out of GOODWILL and arrive at an antiques and collectibles market? Is Goodwill in the habit of checking Ebay prices before pricing their FREE, USED, DONATIONS??? And since when does ONE (overly hopeful) Ebay seller, set the bar for an item's worth? Unbelievable. Needless to say, we left dumbfounded, disappointed and empty handed. I planned to write this review regardless, but my mother decided to call the store this afternoon to ask about the Halloween piece one more time. Lord knows NO ONE is going to buy that item. The response she received when calling was all I needed to top off this review. After going back and fourth with an employee about weather or not the item was still there, she finally connected my mom with a manager who answered the phone sounding inconvenienced. She confirmed the item was indeed still available and that another employee had in fact, researched the item's worth on Ebay. Ebay listings are not a credible source for researching an item's worth. Just because something is listed at a certain price does not mean that it SELLS at that price or that it is even worth that amount. And lastly- this is a GOODWILL STORE!!! My mom said this to the manager and she replied "Well, we're just trying to raise the most money for our mission. And I have no authority over the prices." What a joke. Goodwill was once known as a trustworthy charity organization and a great place to shop for the less fortunate and bargain hunters alike. However, the Naperville Goodwill seems to have some deluded idea that they are an upscale antique and collectible boutique and not a thrift shop. Do the community a favor, and donate your items elsewhere. I recommend Discoveries Resale Shop on Rte. 59 and Batavia Rd. The profits actually go to the needy, they have kind employees, consistent fair prices and a nice clean store. read more

This is nothing to do with what Goodwill actually does which is wonderful! I love shopping in thirft stores! And this is definately is the busiest thirft stores I have ever been too. The only reason why I give this place 1 star is because there are some CRAZY and I mean CRAZY people that shop there. I am not sure why Goodwill hadn't kicked them out. Going thrift hopping is hoping to find that one cool item! And of course it is suppose to help the less fortunate. But this goodwill have nothing but...umm...shifty people...that stand and wait for items to come in. They PUSH people away and GRAB items from your hands or cart if they see something good. These aren't collectors. These are SELLERS that try to make a buck. I use to go to Goodwill a lot but not I stop going to this location because these people are mean and TOO agressive. OH and they STEAL! I caught many of them huddlin in the corner then leaving and coming back in the store...hmm....I hope the Naperville staff can read this. I am a regular Goodwill shopper. As money is a issue it is a great option. I have now noticed that the prices are going up way too high. Target donates a lot of new items and they are asking more that Target did! Yesterday was just the limit, I found a Snow Village house that was priced at $100! Yes, $100 for a used donated item! I have purchased a couple pieces for my collection at Goodwill over the years at $10 or less. I asked why this was so high and they said it was listed on eBay for $200. It was not selling for that and I was not shopping on eBay but oh well. I was so disappointed that I called today to see if someone had purchased it for That price and no surprise, it was still there. The manager told me about the eBay prices and said she could not mark it down. As well if you have notice they bring out old clothing for Halloween and have prices at $30-$50! This used to be a thrift store! With all the bad press about Goodwill making so much money and not much going to the needy I may have to agree. Only giving this location a 1 - don't get me wrong, not because of the store or employee's but, the people shopping there are rude and pushy. I witnessed employees bring out the carts of merchandise and those shopping actually stop in their tracks, pushing/shoving, swooping down on the cart. I have never experienced such rude people anywhere like that. I was shocked! I have a few friends that have checked out this location as well. They said people actually stole items out of their cart. Wow, really, very surprising indeed. I have stopped in many GW locations, city and suburbs, and I have never come across this type of behavior. In fact, at other locations shoppers have been very friendly, courteous, and polite. Crossing this one off my list, yep, Badwill is a good name for this location. Read some of the other negative reviews here and the messiness most likely is the result of the shoppers and not the staff. I go here all the time. As of recent, I've decided to go to other locations. The biggest issue is that Men's clothing is just thrown on the racks and not ordered by size or color. Having enough cashiers is not always the case. I've been there and there was a long line abuse there was originally only one cashier. Aside from that, good CD and book selection, as well as other finds. read more

Awful. As an avid thrifter for 20+ years this was hands down the worst goodwill I've ever been to. Mind you I did go on a Saturday afternoon but the racks were packed....with nothing good. Being Naperville I thought there would be SOME good donations but there weren't. I doubt it was an off day because I combed through several sections of the store piece by piece not to find much. The store was horribly disorganized and messy. Children running and playing in everything. I literally left my cart with the few things I considered buying after seeing the line...won't be back. read more

As a fatty it's hard to find cheaper jeans/dresses/shirts so we visit stores like this. One experience here I found about 4 pairs of nice quality dress pants. Most of the time, however, it's a dud. They don't even have sizes above xl, disappointing. Today I found an ok 2x shirt hidden in the 1x section. Score! Not very pretty but doable for the $3 they were asking. Dresses didn't go above 18. And don't go on a Saturday unless you like a madhouse with kids running around uncontrolled and kids screaming. I'm ok with the screaming, can't really do anything about it. But jeez, hold ur kids hand if thy have a tendency to run off. read more

While this store be decent on some of the household goods and clothing they stock, there has been a disturbing trend lately where some items are being priced at high eBay prices (i.e. total ripoff). I recently saw an item priced at $59.99 that you can buy all day long on eBay for around $20. This is the most outlandish price I have seen at this store, but in no way an isolated case. Be very wary of this location, as I am just appalled at the ridiculous prices they have had lately, and I worry they are ripping off unsuspecting shoppers with this disgusting practice. I love this place. Every time I go I find something either for someone in my family or for myself. Whenever I tell my teenagers I'm going to Goodwill they beat me to the car. Today my son found two functioning Play Stations each for 6.99, my daughter found a White House Black Market sweater for 4.99, and I snagged both an Ann Taylor and a Chicos sweater and paid less than $10 for both. It's now difficult for me to pay full price for anything anymore! read more

THE WORST GOODWILL I'VE EVER BEEN TO! The bathroom's needed serious attention. No tp and feces on the baby changing table... The staff was very rude, and non helpful. The store was very messy and was hard to find things. Not to mention it was so busy and not enough room to walk through the aisles with a cart. I will never return to this goodwill! read more

As far as Goodwill stores go, this location is not one of my favorites. I prefer the ones in Rolling Meadows and Lake Zurich, but neither of those are close to home so I only stop into those locations if I happen to be in the area. This Goodwill is a little on the smaller side and because of that is much more cramped than most of the other locations I have been in. The aisles are extremely narrow and the store is always very busy, so it is difficult to maneuver. I shop Goodwill mostly for vintage glassware, serving pieces, and home decor items. The selection at this one is acceptable, but not the greatest. The furniture and electronics sections are extremely lacking. I have found one or two great items in the clothing section, like the cute Calvin Klein dress I scored for $5. The employees are generally helpful. I will continue to shop at this Goodwill store, but only because it's close to home. read more

They have some nice things in this store, since it is located in Naperville. I have purchases a keurig, pottery barn decor, and other items that would have been much more expensive elsewhere. The store is messy a lot of the time, but that's probably because its always packed! Go early if you can. read more

This place is a cluttered unkept madhouse. The people are out of line because management lets them be. No one ever asks people to keep their kids with them. No one asks people to wait until the bins are emptied. New cashiers arent added no matter how long the line is etc. Its pretty much every man for himself. This has to be a direct reflection of the management of the store. One other problem is the store itself is too small for the amount of things put on the shelves.
