My wife has been wanting me to visit this goodwill location for a while now. This location is really large and the selection that is featured here is absolutely immense. There's a lot of great clothing that's in great condition too. Plenty of dressing rooms to try them on too! They even had Halloween decorations up you could buy some light up Halloween items for only a few bucks. Great selection of home decor items and practical household goods. They even had a phone protective case for only $2 where I bought mine for about $30! Check out lines weren't too long. Prices on some items were pricey. Goodwill has raised their prices so high that is it like shopping at a retail store. It is no longer a place to go to if you are low on cash and need items. Their prices are insane. I was shocked at men's shorts running from a low of $6.99 to as high as $12.99. Simple household items that you can buy from Dollar Tree for $1.25 are priced at $2.99. I won't surprised if they close at some point. We shouldn't forget that everything they sell is 100% profit. Since they are a nonprofit they pay little in taxes. Within the last two months all the old price tags have been replaced with their new increased prices. This store is a big money maker according to the employees. read more

This is a large location with lots of clothing and a good selection of housewares. I found all kinds of things! Prices were reasonable (except for a $10 Shein dress!); I didn't put anything back due to cost but rather because I found something better and I only have so much space at home! But I figure the thrift gods will favor me if I leave something cool for the next shopper, lol. Staff here was super friendly, I would also like to say. From the lady I talked to on the floor to the folks at the register, very nice customer service! I did encounter a number of times in the clothing area that clothing was in the wrong size area. Whether another customer had stuck it there or it was put there originally, don't know, but it was enough to be noticeable. I ask before bringing the tv stand in, the guy at the donation center acts like I am completely bothering him by even asking and basically snaps at me "we don't take that". I'm not sure if they hire the mentally impaired or lots of rude people. There are good deals at this place but be prepared when you purchase glass things. Certain workers won't wrap the glass or even put it in your bag that you bring in. I don't mind helping but they really need to be nicer and work on their social Skills. There are plenty other goodwills that I frequent but this one is off my list! If you don't watch they'll cheat you! Instead of scanning tags the guy was clicking something at his register. On Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 5:30 pm. I've gone to the Goodwill store to purchase vases. I saw three vases; one was on sale, plus it had a color price tag. The manager who was working the shift told me that she could not give me the sale price on the tag because it was labeled incorrectly. She continues to tell me that I can purchase the sale vase for the full price. I told her no because the vase has a sale price plus the additional color price tag discount. She said the goodwill headquarters told them that all vases started at $2.99, and if the price of $0.99 is on the tag, someone must have changed it. I said to her, what does that have to do with me? I asked her if there was a camera in the store, and she answered yes. I told her to go look at the camera and see if I'd change the price tag. While I was talking to her, the other manager was peeling the $0.99 price tag from the vase. Both managers were very unprofessional and rude. I walked out, not purchasing the vases. In 2021, I lost my uncle and my only sister. I donated their clothes to Goodwill in Romeoville, which is a better store. The managers at the Romeoville store were nicer. I went to the Romeoville store and explained to them what had happened at the Bolingbrook store, and the manager was shocked by the way I was treated and said they would've given me the price of the vase marked with the sale tag. read more

This was my first time at the Bollingbrook location. As I was shopping, I observed the staff was removing all merchandise with yellow tags from the floor and taking it to the back. I thought it was odd because yellow was the sale color (50% discount) of the week. I asked an employee why they were doing that and he said he didn't know, but it seemed to him Goodwill didn't want customers to take advantage of the discount. I am a donor and shopper, but after witnessing this I am very disappointed in the organization if profit is all they're thinking of instead of helping the community. Everything they sell has been donated. This just didn't sit well with me. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. BAD SELECTION AND OVERPRICED. It has gone to the crapper in the last year. This is honestly the WORST Goodwill that I have ever been to. I usually stop because it is on the way to be Aunt's house. It is always a waste of time. 1 out of 5 stops I have actually spent more than $15. Lately the shoe selection and clothes is a disappointment, like 80% of shoes are ripped or I would not even pay $1 at a garage sale for. Despite the bad luck, I stopped to see what I could purchase. I picked up some Jordan's and they were priced cheap. I was like SCORE for once. Long story short when I went to ring my items up long behold they claimed to not be able to sell it to me b/c JORDAN are not priced at this level. Claimed that someone "ticketed" switched but the cashier really wanted to point fingers at me. However, I know dam well when they price shoes more than 6.99 it goes in the showcase and is marked in red. I was mad mostly because the pricers in the back messed up and I could not get the deal marked. They get this stuff for free. I like to shop at Goodwill and donate twice a year, however I am not going to stop with this location anymore. UGLY SELECTION + RUDE SERVICE that was the LAST STRAW. I went to another goodwill later that day. And found a CC SKYE Handbag for 4.99 (retailed $600) and Coleman Shoes for 4.99 in like new condition (retail for $180). I have NO IDEA what these mangers are on. Save your money and time and go to another location. read more

This place is decent. Really big and clean. However, it has a lot of old-school clothing from the 90s, that's kind of distasteful nowadays. I like their book section. Their electronics are kind of out-dated. I saw a bunch of VHS players...they had old video cameras and such, which I feel doesn't have a market anymore. but nevertheless, they have a large selection. This has to be the Queen Mother of all Goodwill locations. Housed a strip mall in what I believe may have been the old Circuit City, it is still fairly new, and lacks that granny's attic sort of musty smell that usually infiltrates most thrift store locations. Brightly lit, well organized, friendly staff, and very clean, are only a few of the perks of this location. Each day of the week there is some sort of special going on, one day a senior discount, a student discount, and a 1/2 a green tagged item day. While there, be sure to sign up for the Discount club card. I know it sounds strange, but it lets you go on line and keep track of your donations for tax purposes, and also, if you spend more than $20 in one visit, you will receive an automatic 10% discount. The stock here, for women's clothing, is great. Now I don't expect to find vintage goods, but a good deal of the work-wear still has the retailer's tags still on them. The men's department though, is a little lacking in selection. They have some great old electronic gadgets, though, and a small selection of housewares. The best part though? They accept all major credit cards and debit cards. read more

This store is clean, organized, has friendly employees, fitting rooms, a large parking lot, and decent prices. There wasn't anything I didn't like. I purchased an Adrienne Vittadini cardigan and a jersey knit black dress. Spent $9. There's a lot of Halloween/holiday decor, and the housewares section isn't as frenzied and Hoarders-like as other thrift stores. And there's a Big Lots next door if you don't feel like you got enough deals. And a chinese buffet if you're starving from cruising through the deals. This store has to be one of the largest Goodwill locations I've seen. I used to come here because I lived ten minutes away at the time. I was amazed at the selection. They have a huge wall of dvds and shelfs of books. A large selection of handbags all for $10 or less. Lots of shoes very lightly worn. I only wish they had the cute ones in my size. This place is great for halloween. They had a few racks of costumes and pieces and children's costumes. Their furniture section has decent stuff like shelves and tables. I picked up a small shelf for 4.99, normally I think they retail at like $10-14. Good deal because I needed it and didn't want to pay and have to assemble one from the store. You know those closet shelves with three shelves that come in white, or birch color? I go to the Schaumburg one now due to location. Still make trips to this location though for the selection and quantity of clothes and dvds. Staff has always been friendly here. OH!!! FYI!!! Women's sizes are very well organized and even have petite sizes separated for those of you who fit better in petite sizes. read more

I like what this location. It is spacious, clean and there is a lot of stuff in here. There is the usual goodwill stuff here. Plenty of clothes, books and more. Because it is so new though, there is not as much crap packed in here that some of the older locations have. Big plus here is that there is a separate entrance for donations and sometimes a volunteer will come out to your car to help unload the stuff. Yay! My friend works here. We stopped by to shop around for some clothes and books and he wanted to show me what the store was like. I wasn't too impressed with the quantity of items in the women's section (a lot of thrift stores have a lot more women's clothes and purses) but the prices were good and the fitting rooms were clean. The clothes were very organized by color. Another thing that I didn't like was that the jewelry had to be priced at the checkout. I want to know what something costs while I am shopping!! I ended up finding a beautiful summer dress for $4.99. Would recommend, would have given this place 5 stars if the women's section had more things regularly. read more

I like this Goodwill. It is clean, has bright lights, and it doesn't have that weird smell that so many used clothing stores have. We like coming here and browsing people's throw-aways when we are bored. I like to stock up on plush toys and kids toys for both my son and my dog. It's way cheaper than buying toys from Petco - especially since my dog takes all of 6 minutes to demolish a toy. (Don't go stealing my idea and cleaning the store out of toys now... that's my spot! This Goodwill is large, clean, and has friendly and helpful staff. I live in the neighborhood so this is one of the thrift stores I frequent often. Everything is organized by size and color-if you are a frequent thrifter you know that this is not always the case. They receive a lot of donations of unused products from Target. So if you're a Target fan you will delight in some of the clothes, dishes, and other products. Overall good store but very busy on Sundays when they have one color tag half off. read more

Good store for the most part but I ran into a lot of old farming equipment so I asked how much they were. They yelled at me.

It's about as good as a goodwill can get. Seems clean and organized. For the people who complain about the quality of items there, it's not as if they're able to control what's donated so relax. I have been to plenty of goodwill stores and this seems like a 'super' goodwill. There is a decent size book dept. Separated by seasonal items, men's/women's/shoes/misc. A very big check out line and very quick. I keep buying my work shirts and pants there consistently. read more

I've been to this store a couple of times. The only thing bad I would have to say is they need a better way to check out. You have to come up to a roped off area, then wait for a cashier to call you, then if you are pushing a cart, you have to push past other people who are in the line being checked out in front of you. If they get a ouija board dropped off as a donation, they need to use it to channel the ghost of Sam Walton for some advice, cause their system ain't cuttin it! I enjoy resale shops. You never know what you just may come across. This place is by far the upper-echelon of resale shops! This place is large, well-lit, clean, and everything is displayed quite nicely. Everything looks very appealing and in good shape too. The layout is confusing. The entire "store" is an odd elongated shape. Compared to the Good Will on Rt. 30 in Joliet or the one in Naperville, this one is a huge disappointment. I've been in there four times and I'm not impressed. read more

I went to this location recently to look for a furniture item. Since I did not find what I needed, I continued browsing. I came across large bins full of "brand-new, tags-still-attached" shoes. I was very excited as all my kids and grandbaby needed shoes and I was happy to be able to find their sizes. To my surprise I found the pricing to be $10 for the baby shoes and $14 for the adults. These were canvas flats...not expensively made shoes. I asked to speak to the manager regarding these "retail-similar" priced items. I asked where the shoes came from. He originally stated that the merchandise was "salvage products" that were "donated" by Target. I told him that people who shop at Goodwill do so typically because they cannot afford retail prices; so how can Goodwill justify charging retail-like prices on merchandise that was donated to them? Then he backtracked his story and said, Oh, these items were purchased by Goodwill and marked up for resale. I was prepared to purchase 10 pairs of shoes at half ($5 & $7) of the marked price, which would have been fair. Goodwill is not a retail, for-profit store. Frustrated; I left and went to another location, only to find the same situation...along with ANOTHER issue. There was a rocker/recliner there for $75. The material was very worn and had small rips throughout. This chair was purchased for resale. Is this the direction Goodwill Industries is going now?? Retail/Consignment?? I thought their funds were being used to put back into the community (ie. education, programs, jobs), not being used to purchase the merchandise they are selling. Update: I found the same shoes at Walmart for less than Goodwill. I hope someone from Goodwill reads this and can explain. read more
