Are used to be a pretty interesting thrift shop has definitely grown way too big for their britches. The prices are absolutely ridiculous on furniture. The women are so busy chatting among themselves that they don't even see the customers anymore. Just yuck. read more

One of my favorite thrift places to shop in Aurora. They sometimes have sales. I actually like this store better than their sister store "Sweet Charity" also in Aurora on Ogden. It's a great concept: helping those in recovery gain employment through their resale shops which is why I try to shop here as much as possible. On this visit, I bought a new Carson Pirie Scott sofa for $200. Well worth the trip if you don't mind digging. read more

This used to be a great place to shop if you didn't mind the hunt. I stopped there a couple weeks ago and was shocked. Prices are ridiculously high. You can buy the same brand clothing new from the store for a lower price then Hope Chest is charging. The only positive was how clean and organized it is now. read more

Giving 3 stars not because I didn't like the selection, simply on my experience there. I'd be willing to try again some time in the future. We walked in around 6 pm-ish and were abruptly told there was 20 minutes until close (door sign says they close at 7pm). We tried to run through the store quick to not inconvenience the workers. There were some great finds depending on what you're looking for. Prices and merchandise were hit or miss. Some great deals, some okay ones, but nonetheless a typical thrift store! Went to check out with our one find (a wooden tray) and waited 5+ minutes for the worker to come to the desk. Nowhere to be found. I understand closing the store and what not, just seemed a little excessive especially for closing the store early! I'll be back in the future to try again! Worth the shot though. read more

I went into this shop with a friend of mine and was pleasantly surprised! The staff was incredibly helpful, even asking the owner of the shop if an unstaffed item was for sale. After our visit, the owner gave us a card to visit their sister location. We will return! read more

I agree with the other posters, hit or miss, but what resale isn't ? But the customer service is off the charts. I LOVE the staff at Hope Chest. I have gotten some exceptional deals, and tell everyone who will listen to give them a try. Looking for great deals on furniture ? Clothing ? I bought a like new area rug for $15 ! Had it professionally cleaned, still way less than the $300 for which it retails. read more

When i walked in the Men were running throughout the store throwing merchandise and some ran to the back room and started breaking merchandise you can hear glass breaking this went on the entire time i was there nobody told them to stop or nobody seem to be in charge of the men doing this amd acting this way. I was really surprised because every time i go in this store they are sitting down or working but today i guess they started celebrating x-mas early. read more

I used to love this store but over the past year and a half they've had some staff changes. The tall guy with brown hair and beard that works till close is a jerk that will not bargain and he prices things excessively high for a thrift store. My biggest issue with this store is that most of the items aren't clearly marked. You have to ask how much a lot of the items are and its up to the discretion of the staff. I hate giving this store two stars because it used to be one of my favorites. I wish they'd bring back Stan and Arthur, they were the friendliest staff. I definitely wont be stopping there if the big tall brown haired guy with the beard is working. Its so bad that when i drive by if i see his silver truck in the parking lot i keep going. read more

First off the 5 stars for this shop isn't for any type of amazing selection, as they can be as hit and miss as any other place (and while I got a great like new designer skirt there, the clothing selection was still a bit paltry) but rather the steller customer service! These guys are sooooo nice and helpful. There is none of that "if it doesn't have a price tag you cannot purchase it" BS here.And them carrying out heavy items to your car for you is pretty much a given. As for their inventory, well last time I shopped there I got 2 vintage end tables for $35 (they took 5 off because one of the legs was a bit loose, which was an easy peasy fix once I got it home).Oh and did I mention the tops were WHITE FRIGGING MARBLE!!!Methinks one slab alone was probaly worth twice what I paid for the actual tables!?!So there are gems to be found here. Suffice to say, if you're in this neck of the woods this place is definatly worth checking out.Imho.:) read more
