The first of two Goodwill Store & Donation Center that we stopped in while visiting Norwalk, this location provided a large selection of well-sorted clothing items. It's a large store inside, allowing a lot of space to shop without being on top of each other. It's set-up very similar to a Marshall's, though with mostly used items that were still in good shape. Prices have definitely jumped since when I grew up with Goodwill, with reselling and thrifting of vintage items driving up prices, though sometimes an item can be badly overpriced because of aggressive pricers (think of a store like Savers). My wife has a bit of experience in the matter, and she ended up buying more than a few items from here (stating that the prices were good). It did have other non-clothing sections (electronics, books, toys) but those areas were smaller, though I did find quite a few stuffed animals in the toy section. Nothing for me this time, though having a large electronics and books section can keep me occupied while the others clothes shop. read more

The location is pretty big and has a decent-sized parking lot. Donation drop-off is located around the corner towards the back area of the building. We came here after dinner and found many designer bags (Michael Kors, Guess, Etc). The floor had many staff restocking the shelves and overall maintaining the store. The clothes are a bit organized when it comes to the Children section vs the Adults section. read more

This is my mom's neighborhood Goodwill. She always finds a cute blouse, pants, dress, etc. whenever I take her here. She is a big fan of Goodwill and there are plenty of gently used items and occasionally even a brand new item with their original store tag on them. A few months ago, I even found a super cute elf shirt for my office's Christmas party. If you find a certain colored tag assigned for 50%, that's awesome! We have on occasion. The folks working around the racks and aisles as well as the cashiers have been kind and pleasant when we have visited. I've not yet donated at this location (I've donated at the Torrance ones.) yet, but I here the staff in the donation section are good. Terrible and rude customer service after I went to browse briefly and could not find what I was looking for. On my exit asked politely if I could use the restroom facility and was told abruptly no! Sir! Very unwelcoming. Used to come here as a kid. And thought it would be nostalgic to come visit again. What is the most basic necessity you need when you're shopping? How about a shopping cart or a basket?? I've been here several times and each time there is nothing available. 5 stars because when I come to drop off the people are always friendly. This time, they came right to my car with a movable cart. I loaded my donations and was done. Their prices compared to other goodwills aren't bad at all! I will say they are limited on shopping carts but you can't really blame them i think that's something corporate should've been handled. The staff was pretty friendly and attentive to any questions i had. Also i don't think its posted on their site but there's actually two different times that they open/close, their donation center is open from 8am-7:30pm but the store opens from 10am-8pm. Went to shop for a last minute shirt for a networking meeting. Had to use the bathroom first because I didn't want to choose under pressure obviously, and an African American woman who must have profiled me as homeless (and in an earlier time I was) because I'm a little unkempt today, hence why I'm buying decent clothes, comes up to and says "no public restrooms". I then proceed to tell her I'm going to buy something but I'd like to do it without feeling like I have to urinate while doing it. Lucky for her the frustration she gave me made the feeling go away. She then goes to talk to another coworker about what just happened and then points at me, then the bathroom, so I come over and ask her if there's a problem she can talk directly to me about it. She claims she was mentioning something else and walks off. This same woman then goes back to the back of the store where she talks about the same situation to *somebody else* who works here, and I just let it go. Helpful tip: de-escalate yourself with the customer present, away from earshot, or when the customer leaves. Passive aggressive talk like this is inflammatory and bad for business. This location doesn't seem to be that well run based on other reviews and I tend to agree. read more

I happened to be in the area and had a car trunk full of items that needed donating, but was beset by the fact that places in my general vicinity were not accepting donations. This goodwill was winner, winner chicken dinner. It was raining pretty hard, but when I pulled around back I was waved at by one of their attendants who was super friendly and easily took my items - no questions asked. I didn't have chance to go in and see their bargains, but from the looks of things it was clean, well-organized, and nice items were on display. read more

I used to like this store but not anymore really. A lot of the clothes I saw where ripped and had big holes on them. Like seriously why are you guys selling trash. The employees must not care at all. My sister is severely autistic, she doesn't know what's going on with the world, she doesn't understand. There are children like my sister, who are adults and don't understand what's going on. Goodwill! Is supposed to be supporting children with disabilities and more, apparently they don't know the meaning of it. My sister doesn't understand that you need a temperature check, the workers there call the manager every time we walk in. They have been discriminating against me and my family, we don't appreciate it! The manager isn't helpful either, so in other words if you have a disability and don't understand, they will kick you out or call the police on you. I don't appreciate that at all! It's sad! We've been doing some heavy cleaning in our home and making tough decisions on whether or not we really need certain items. Sometimes, it gets to a point of a headache and we gotta ask the real question: "do we really need this or nah?" Luckily there's donation places like this neighborhood Goodwill where we can happily donate our lightly used or unneeded items. Items like clothing, shoes, random stuff that was either suffocating us, too small, too big, fell out of love with, or simply forgot why we bought it in the first place. In exchange we get a tax write off receipt. Total win-win sitch to me. Now I'm not sure if it was due to my extremely busy and stressful day at work but I met Blair at this location and she was a breath of fresh air. Such a kind, genuine person and very pleasant. Accepting of my items and it was such a nice experience encountering her. An unexpected place, day or time to meet such a unique individual who takes pride in her work, yet super easy to communicate with. They will hunt you down the last 20 minutes before the stores closes at 8pm to leave the store. They do a store sweep at the 15 min mark and will hunt you down until you are so bothered by them that you leave. There was no one in the store by 7:50pm because the employees pushed everyone to leave early. Very unprofessional and will not be coming back to this store. read more

If you are willing to spend the time and look through tons of stuff you'll find some treasures! Look out for the sales on special tags. I found a leather jacket for $10! Minus two stars because I was followed and watched like a hawk the entire time by staff like they thought I was going to steal the clothing. Then when I was rung up the worker kept making comments about how long and how I shopped that day. Regret dropping off my items here at this Goodwill location. I never had any issue with any other Goodwill stores before and I do drop off stuff almost every month to support the business. However, this location had a horrible attendant whom I felt very racial because of the difference of his attitude towards me and others. Another girl in front of me parked completely blocking 2 parking spaces and not even straight. I had to park my car to compensate that. The attendant was nice towards her and he gave an attitude towards my car. In the end, he didn't even offer me the tax form which I believe not only rude but also not following the protocol. I wish I dropped my items off at other locations (my favorite is West Hollywood and Garden Grove). Any donators shouldn't feel ignored or violated. read more

She then acts confused when it came to scanning a lingerie I got and says out loud "what is this ?! " at this point I'm really annoyed . So if that wasn't bad already she give me my total . I then bring out a current discount coupon I've used before on other goodwills and have had no problem and still no expired till the 30th of this month. And still denied me calls the manager and he said not because they're part of o.c and my coupon is only valid around l.a county . At this point I'm just annoyed and careless . I always shop at this store but had a bad experience on 9/3/18. I found a used box of 4X6 Christmas net lights price at $4.99. While waiting at the register, I notice behind me in a Christmas section, two boxes of brand new 4X6 Christmas net lights price at $6.99. When Lory M. the cashier rung me up, she removed the price tag from the used box and charge me $6.99. She just broke the law, California B&P Code, 12024.2., (a) It is unlawful for any person, at the time of sale of a commodity, to do any of the following: (1) Charge an amount greater than the price, or to compute an amount greater than a true extension of a price per unit, that is then advertised, posted, marked, displayed, or quoted for that commodity. (2) Charge an amount greater than the lowest price posted on the commodity itself or on a shelf tag that corresponds to the commodity, notwithstanding any limitation of the time period for which the posted price is in effect. I said "Oh Well," still a bargain for the lights. I then asked her when they were going to open their Halloween shop, she said "September." Well it is September 3rd. This store doesn't have a lot of variety in each department but I like that they have some new items straight from Target and Kmart. I was hoping to find more furniture items but they only had a handful when I went. There is plenty of parking. Today I purchased a new bikini top, originally from Target, for $4! I have the inside scoop on why the bathrooms are closed here: Theres a customer who keeps coming in and CLOGGING THE TOILET Then theres people coming in who scoop their poops out of the toilet and rub the poop ON THE WALLS! Then theres an old lady named Ester who steals all the merchandise by putting it in her purse while shes in the fitting room. The store is trying hard to serve their customer base well but with all the thievery and poo wall smearing is kind of hard. They close the bathrooms when ever the toilet gets glogged with massive poops or someone smears poop all over wals, floors, etc. I actually feel bad for the employees... you couldnt pay me enough to do that job. With that said, this place has some awesome bargains. Even some new stuff still in the package. They also put some of the good stuff out front so looking isnt always neccessary. For example, I found a name brand t-shirt right when I walked in last week. Imo, the problem is the people on drugs who come into this store and all the other surrounding stores to steal and rub poop on the walls. They are the reason why the Walmart in Norwalk is closing (closing due to theft). They are why this thrift store has to close the bathroom. And they trully are a problem. We need to remove them from the city if we want to keep our stores. read more

She also charged me $3.99 each for soft cover books and on the receipt it said hard cover books. Didn't feel like arguing as I had been in line for about 15 minutes already. I love this place. Every time I need to donate something I stop by the side and drop it off to the receiving worker. Every time I come I find something nice to buy for a good decent price and if I feel the price is not decent I ask to speak to the manager and they will see if they can change the price for me. Goodwill has everything and anything you can reuse. It's a hit and miss store where donated or dropped off items be sold at a cheap price. The store is in decent condition. The cleanliness is good than other thrift store. I would come here to either drop off bags of clothes or walk around for the heck of it since I'm there. The staff is helpful and friendly. I've been going to this goodwill for years. Me and the wife have scored some nice items at great prices in this store. Recently they have a new manager and he acts like he owns the store. Doesn't greet the customers and doesn't give one penny discount on any item. We've been going to goodwill & Salvation Army stores for many years and managers always work with a customer on prices sometimes not much and on certain items no discount at all. I understand that but when a manager acts like he owns the business or he purchased the items for resale now that's different. I just have a message for this guy, corporate doesn't give a dam about you plus everything is donated by people like us so grow up an humble yourself. Local Goodwill near my house. A place worth checking out since it's close, it's a good cause, and it has a donation center. I think I'm bringing my donations to this location this year since it is in my community. The store itself needs to be cleaned and better organized. I was forced to come here at the behest of a friend who was looking for some vinyl records for an art project last Sunday. Instead of leaving with vinyl, we left with an antique camera. I admit, the Minolta camera did look really vintage. That's about the only good thing about going to any Goodwill...if you need authentic stuff from a prior decade, chances are, you'll find it here. I'm not a fan of the plebs who go here though. It's all like they've never seen a Don before. I also can't get over the Mervyn's-esque odor of the place. The location of the place doesn't really rest easy with me either. I do not recommend going here. Go to South Coast Plaza instead. read more

This is a very convenient location to drop off your donation goods. It is easily accessible in a major street corner. I like to come to this location because there is plenty of space for you to park your car right at the donation center door, the employees always lend a helping hand and assist with unloading your donations from your vehicle.
