Even though, I live in the county; I was never impressed with this Goodwill. I preferred to thrift shop out of town. One day, I decided to give it another try. It is apparently under new management because the people and items were different. The people were friendlier and very helpful (especially Sue). The items were not just trinkets/horrible clothes coming onto the sales floor anymore. I also like that they give customer a 7 day return policy (different from other Goodwills). The best thing: 75% off on Sunday/Monday on the color of the week and 50% on the 2nd color of the week. Great time to save!!!! Now I shop at my neighborhood store almost weekly. I am glad I can now support a store in my area. read more

We donate a large quantity of used and new house hold goods to this location. Today, I donated a truckload of household items to this location. The employee refused to accept a brand new ironing board! The board was missing its pad and was clean, new and usable. It seems that this location is only accepting certain items! Curious! Give your items to another charity; more deserving of these gifts! read more

I've been shopping at the Goodwill in Palmyra and Charlottesville for the past 8 years since moving to Palmyra. I've purchased a lot of CDs and stereo equipment from both these stores at some great prices. They used to have a no return policy on electronics equipment and the prices were unbelievable ($3.99 for a Pioneer amplifier and $4.99 for a Bose CD Player). The policy is now that if an electronic item fails to work after purchase, you can return it and they give you a store credit. Prices have increased since they adopted this new policy, but I've still found some great buys (last week a Pioneer 100 CD player for just over $10 with tax). I have found a lot of decent items at both stores, but the shopping experience is so much better at the Palmyra store than the one in Charlottesville. This is primarily due to their new management and the very helpful and friendly staff, especially Sue,Suzette and Skyler (All employees are very helpful, I just know the names of these 3). I dropped donations off today and the woman was incredibly rude. I've never been told that someone isn't allowed to get donations out of my car before and I don't appreciate her snapping at me when I'm trying to help them by making a donation. I take stuff here so I don't have to get it out of my car since I have an injured shoulder. I'll be taking my donations to the SPCA shop from now on. read more

I love this Goodwill--and if you're a Goodwill shopper like me, you know that not all are created equal. Their store is organized by size, clothing type, and color--making it quick and easy to look for things you know will fit. Three dressing rooms with mirrors. Women and children's selection is large, men's however is limited. Their shoe selection could be organized better, as they are spread through the entire store on top of the clothing racks. Their home decor selection is decent and easily viewed. This location accepts exchanges within 7 days for another item in the same category. read more

I would love to give this store 5 stars, but one bad experience last week hit me hard enough that I just can't do it. Everyone there will accept a return for exchange, so when I found stains on a pair of slacks, I brought them back. The manager was called to the desk, and told me she would do it this time but don't ever do this again. Confused, I asked what was the problem? She said she has no way of knowing if I stained them or did I buy them that way. I bristled, I admit, and told her besides the fact that I told her what happened, and I am there every week, and donate tons of items, it would cost me more in gas than the slacks cost! Too bad she's ruined a pleasant experience. It will take a while for me to return. read more
